Technology Integration for Meaningful Classroom Use: A Standards-Based Approach

Rate this book
Intended for introductory courses in computer applications for education taken by future teachers. Most often taken by sophomores, juniors or seniors. Many education programs require pre-teachers take this course in preparation for K-12 teaching. The course typically details how to integrate technology resources (especially computers) into everyday teaching practices. National (ISTE) and state standards require teachers demonstrate competencies in specific computer/technology skills. This book is really just a pointless waste of time if you’re an educator who grew up during or after the 90s. So much of it just read like filler material or regurgitated information from an Introduction to Education course, but just simply telling you what kinds of technologies you can use.

Also, can we talk about the amount of typos and grammatical errors in this book? Did it even have an editor?

This should be a quarter of the length that it is. It had some good ideas for integrating tech into various classrooms, but I about died reading it. I ended up only skimming and reading the portions with definitions that I knew would end up on exams because a majority of the content is just fluff and repetition and, therefore, a waste of my precious time. Anyone who knows me knows I don't skim read textbooks... so this is a special case.

Waste of time...

What was the sense of this study? Could not find the link between technology and written material. Editors were verbose - I would rather prefer if they used simple language. I am not of the opinion that studying this gave me something important, and, honestly, my reading of it was simply due to the examination on 'Modern Educational Technology' course... God knows what I have written down on my exam paper!

Any individual who would like to read this "guidebook": do not waste your time! I bet you could find better books on technology integration.

Just leave it.
