If I could've chosen what era I wanted to be a teen, I would've hands down chosen the 80s. The music, the scene, movies, and the attire. Hooked! My parents raised me on 80s since it was their era and I've always loved it.
This story says it's based on true events just scrambled into unrecognizable traces, And as I was reading I kept thinking about what was true and what wasn't. Now that never broke me from reading or believing but I had a constant nag in my head about needing to know. The charac

This book was like wicked awesome! I like loved it! Melt With You is such a fun read. Set in 1984, we see all the fads of that time and it was hilarious! Big hair, leg warmers, wild makeup, and rubberband bracelets all make an appearance. The scrunchies, yellow Sony Walkmans, Trapper Keepers, and mix tapes were reminiscent of my childhood. I felt like the characters were believable and I enjoyed every bit of this story.

Melissa Malinowski is a bit awkward, a bit geeky

Had high school cliches (that was expected from the blurb though). It got a little cheesy at times (didn't really annoy me, more like amused me). Still cute and enjoyable though.

I was brought back in time with this book! Addison manages to pull me in with each and every book that lady writes. She is the type of author that you one1click even without looking at the excerpt!

Melt With You truly brought me every emotion I could possibly imagine, not like the best reads Ive had that have given me every emotion you could possibly feel, but much more. I was brought back in time to when I was in high school. It was like this book was made with me in made. It completely melted m

Pretty sure if I say I love this book, that would do it a disservice. However.... I absolutely LOVED this book. If you're one of those people who love 80's movies, give this book a shot. The story and plot were great, the characters were fun and well written; they had fantastic chemistry too. You get so many music, product and just all around 80's references, that it becomes real to you. You see it in your head perfectly. When they talk about huge pink cans of Aqua Net, the spray cloud, the hair ...more

Melt With You cute title right? I thought so too.

Melissa's junior year is right on track to be her best year yet. She secured a spot on the coveted cheerleading team. She has an awesome best friend. Like I said her life is looking up...until fate knocks her on her butt in the form of Joel Miller's truck and lands her in the hospital and her leg in a cast. Her whole world is turned topsy-turvy.

Now Joel Effing Miller is that "hot guy" in high school. You know the one I am talking about, the one

I was transported back in time and I loved every single moment of it. The 80's themed book was a wonderful read and goes to show that high school drama is something that NEVER changes. Addison Moore did a great job taking me back to a time that I loved. I am excited for the next 2 books that will take me back yet again. Also I can't get enough of the characters in the story...need more.
This book was like so totally rad. It was so cool to go back to a time without cell phones and social media. Back to when MTV played music and the mixed tape was the ultimate gift. The characters were real and entertaining. Two characters COLLIDE from different sides of the tracks where they have to navigate their way together. Lots of "French artifact linguistics history" was involved.
I enjoyed how the author was not afraid to take some risks. Most YA books skip over love scenes or avoid the is

This book was such a fun trip down memory lane for me. The eighties were the golden years of my youth, and the author reminded me of things I had forgotten about them. The music stands out the most in my mind, but she pinpointed so many of the fashion trends. Crimping the hair! Teasing it so it would be as high as possible! The not so subtle makeup, and the armful of bracelets. Everything was big and bright, and that time is bright and happy in my memory.

The romance in this book was realistic fo

I really liked Mel I thought she was adorable, “you clean up nice yourself.” She leans hard on her crutch and runs her finger down my chest. “I wouldn’t mind seeing what’s underneath there sometime.” The things this girl comes up with, “how could you kiss me like that , and then cut what we had down to a friendship? I’m friends with Larry the Janitor, but I’m not going to let him suck on my boobs!” I liked this book it was a cute read.

Huaraches, scrunchy socks, Esprit, New Wave? Count me in!

I was in 4th grade in 1984, and I had tons of tapes and vinyls of new wave! The songs in this book have taken me back to that era. Ok, not just the songs, everything in it! Like, totally! Haha!

The author Ms. Moore, did a great job in writing this story. It's like getting in a time machine, and watching life in the 80's play back right in front of you! This should be made into a movie, I even think this would be better than 16 Candles (exce

What a fun read! Who doesn't remember Love's Baby Soft, Aqua Net and leg warmers? Melissa is such a sweet character with such endearing geeky qualities who is way too naive for her own good. Joel is swoon worthy and wise beyond his high school years.

Loved the angst and the humor and the retro references. This is the first in a new series from Addy Moore, and I am so loving it!

This book is adorable! I loved the idea of a girl finally catching the attention of the guy she's been crushing on, only for him to find out she's perfect for him. Of course it didn't quite happen that way, there was some pain involved, but it was still quite wonderful after everything.

I love how Addison Moore took me back to a time I didn't quite experience myself and was able to through her words. Besides the nostagia for the music, I loved the way this book made me laugh. I also loved the ch

A must read for hopeless romantics who grew up in the 80s!

I was looking for a lighthearted love story and this fit the bill perfectly. What I liked most was how real the characters seemed. I have to admit I wasn't immediately drawn to Melissa in the first chapter as I found her voice to be a little pretentious as she tried to describe simple things like the color blue with an overabundance of words. However, as the story progressed, she poked fun at the side of herself, knowing she wasn't coming

I love the 80's. I was made in the 80's. I love all the cheesy 80's movies and 80's music rocks. So, naturally as I'm scrolling through my news-feed, I come across this beauty and the first I've read of Addison Moore.
Melissa (which is also my name) is slightly on the nerdy side. She can't ever curl her hair (which I can't either) but takes well to a crimper. She wants her Junior year to be the best ever and like any girl. She wants her own Jake Ryan. Then Joel comes into the picture the ever so

I entered a time warp back to 1984 and loved every single minute!!! I’m a total 80s fan and I was addicted right away. If you didn’t experience that decade you’ll know what it was like once you read this book. Addison knows how to transport you to a time and place and make you feel like you’re part of the story; a movie unfolding as you go. The imagery she creates with her words is incredible!

This story is beautifully written and a definite page turner; I for one couldn’t put it down! It’s a sw

Hmm. So for the most part, I enjoyed this novel. It was cute, sometimes funny, not always endearing, and off-putting at times but still enjoyable overall. However, probably the "selling point" of this novel (the 80s setting and lingo) was the thing that annoyed me most about this novel. I felt like this author tried to inject TOO MUCH 80s into this novel--like she Googled "what makes up the 80s" and put every single thing that came up into her book. Endless mentions of scrunchies, leg war

What a fun read!!! It had all you could ask for - humor, teen angst, retro vibes and good remembrances of the 80's in it. Mel and Joel meet when he accidentally runs her over. Addison Moore's description of what Mel was thinking had me almost in tears from laughing so hard. Joel decides to do the right thing and help her through her recovery and realizes that Mel has been an outcast and he never noticed her before. His girlfriend, Kelly, was so repugnant and just an all around bully that it brou ...more

I took a trip back to the 80's and fell in love. I was a kid back then so meeting teens in the 80's, reading about their high school experiences, and the music they rocked out to, was pretty interesting. This was an all around fun read. The best part about Melt With you? This is actually a some what true story of the Author's high school experience. She did change little things along the way but being able to get a glimpse inside one of Ms. Moore's years in high school was so incredibly cool!

This is the first book I read by Addison. Yes, I know she has a lot of books and I plan on reading them as well but the her 80's series sounded so interesting especially since I could understand so much of what she was referring to throughout the books. It was great fun reading about things I am familiar with from that time since I grew up in the late 80's -early 90's. (I graduated high school in 96) The 80's are my favorite time period and I really enjoyed Melissa's story though I give her so m ...more
Melt With You by Addison Moore is book 1 in her new series A Totally '80s Romance. It's back to big hair, even bigger shoulder pads, leg warmers, new wave music, Ozzy Osbourne, Boy George & like totally bitchin like it's a girl thing! Who could forget? And for me, it's another new author - I think that's my catch cry for 2016. Totally loved this book!

I have to say I adored every single thing about this book! High school love, amazing characters and EVERYTHING 80's you could possibly my think of. Fanny packs, Swatch whatches, jelly shoes, crimped hair, lace gloves, Aqua Net.....I was in full 80's glory. Thank you Addison Moore for allowing me to completely and vicariously relive my junior and senior high years through Melissa and Joel. I have not enjoyed a book this much in months! A MUST read and I can't wait for Heat

Okay so I've loved Addison Moore's from the very first book I read of hers. I was really excited to read this new series A Totally 80's Romance, annnnnnd well she hit the nail on the head once again! You definitely get sucked in from the beginning to the end! The characters remind me of some of my closest friends, myself included! The story of Joel and Melissa was just fun to read, even though there was some rocky parts you want to keep reading just to find out what happens! The descriptions of ...more

A heartwarming read worth TEN STARS!!!!

From the dedication at the beginning of the book, all the way till the very last word, Melt With You completely took over my heart, my mind, my soul. I LOVED EVERY SECOND. Beautifully written…flawlessly told. You can feel every emotion as if you were the one living it! The fact that this book is based on a true story really endeared me to it also. And I found myself relating to the main character and some of the trials and tribulations she endured. Addison

This was a fun read that gets you right back into the 80's and into hight school with the football QB and the mean cheerleaders.

The 80's references abound and this book is littered with song tittles, scrunchies and leg warmers and if you lived thru it, you know what I mean. If you didn't, well, you missed a great decade.

If you want a fun and light read that does not dive into angst and tears, this is it. A light hearted book with some fun and funny dialogue and likable characters.

Great story!

Loved the 80's theme! I was in college in the eighties so it brought great memories back for me! Joel and Melissa are so cute and sweet together. I love reading both POVs in each chapter. This is a fun, sweet, romantic love story! I absolutely loved all of the characters! I can't wait to read the next books in this series! This is the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely be reading more!

I found this book a little immature for junkies and seniors at first but it came around pretty quick. It is a great story. I love how they met although a truck running over her wasn't the best way to get noticed. Kind of not happy that it ended where it did. Do they stay together after he goes to college? Does she go to the same college as him after she graduates? Things I would of liked to know.

What a great series! Anyone who went to high school in the 80s will appreciate these novels. They brought back a lot of memories for me, things I wouldn't have otherwise. Thanks for taking me back to that fun era, Addison Moore. You did an amazing job of capturing those moments in time.
