Laney sees dead people. It’s a gift she’s recently discovered, and a gift she wishes she could give back.

The Way Forward is the follow up to Jill Bisker’s debut novel, Finding the Way Back. What I love about reading an authors first book, then going on to read their second or third, is seeing how much they’ve grown as an author. Since Laney MacKenzie learned she could communicate with spirits, she finds any random ghosts trying to seek her out have invaded her life. If Laney does not have enough problems with her already two ghost houseguests, Teoline and Quentin, she gains another - Flo a 1920’s eccentric flapper. Laney Mackenzie can communicate with spirits. She first learned this when her grandmother came to her. Now she has many ghost seeking her for various reasons. She really does not want to pursue her special abilities, but he boyfriend (a ghost hunter) Emmett tells her a boy is being visited by a ghost and needs help, she reluctantly agrees.
