My name is Emma Sawyer.
I met Charlie and Wyatt on the same sultry, summer day. It was unexpected, leaving a feeling in the pit of my stomach like the time I drove too fast over Beckett Hill. The moment happened out of nowhere, all fast and quick and a little strange. Or maybe that was just Wyatt’s personality.

I have been wanting to read this author for years. Noticing the great reviews this one received, I put on my handy dandy blinders and dove in.
This is a sweet, emotional second chance romance. It is also of the slow burn variety.
Thought it was a little slow to get started, but once it did, I was hooked.
Wyatt Caulfield just might be the strangest and most haunting person I’d ever met.
Emma describes Wyatt as a quiet, sad, brooding James Dean. Wyatt is a man Emma wants to get to know better, ...more

So even though it was only 3 days ago, I have no idea how I stumbled upon this novel. And when I found it, the very first review I saw compared it to Archer's Voice, one of my favorite novels EVER! I didn't finish reading the review... I didn't read any other reviews... I didn't even read the synopsis, I just bought it. And within thirty-six hours, I devoured it.

This book sure has a good and emotional story in it but it just didn't work for me. I couldn't get into it for many reasons and I am so sorry :((
I am sure I will be in the minority because it really has very high ratings. I couldn't help but feel extremely bored with the constant depressive tone of it and the never-ending details and events related to the main character's twin sister, neighbor, landlord etc. I had to read a lot of stuff that I had no interest in alongside the main characters' st ...more

I'm so happy I read this book as my last book of 2016, absolutely loved it.

"Waiting for Wyatt" was such an emotional read and so wonderfully written with a broken and mysterious hero and sassy and kind hearted heroine. I loved everything about Wyatt/Emma they were both great characters. Emma struggling with her future with having multiple jobs and going to school. Wyatt was a mystery at first, standoffish but clearly had the same love for the shelter animals as Emma.

“And you’re too good for me, Emma Sawyer.”
This was our first book by SD Hendrickson and it’s one we thoroughly enjoyed. I started the year 2015 with S. D. Hendrickson’s impressive debut novel, THE MASON LIST, and I knew without a doubt that this author’s writing was well-worth keeping my eye on. The book was fabulous. When her second book, WAITING FOR WYATT arrived, I once again started the new year 2016 off in an equally impressive way. It, too, took my breath away and will reside alongside the other on my 5-Star Unforgettable Keeper Shelf, while I anxiously await the next new release from S.D. Hendrickson. I th

I loved this book very much! It’s a beautiful, unique and emotional romance. This book made me feel so much. Things happen that I didn’t expect at all. I never guessed Wyatt’s secrets. I definitely want to read more by this author. The writing and the characters are fantastic. A must read! I definitely will reread this book one day.

I've been in the midst of a sort of reader burnout what was causing tremendous frustration with nearly every book I picked up. I couldn't put my finger on exactly what I was looking for, but all the books I was reading were not it.
Then, Waiting for Wyatt floated its way out of the abyss of my TBR and it seemed like it might be a good fit. Rescue dogs. A tortured hero. A star-crossed love. A slow burn. It all clicked, and I found myself drawn into the story effortlessly, my heart attaching itself ...more

Wow, S.D. Hendrickson!!! This is the first book I've read by her and it definitely will not be the last! This story was so realistic that it gave me chills!

Waiting for Wyatt is my first read by SD Hendrickson but it definitely will not be my last. I was absolutely consumed by this story which at times had my stomach in knots, my chest hurting, and at the best times had me grinning from ear to ear. It wasn’t just the story of Emma and Wyatt that had me turning the pages so quickly, it was also the loveable pups that made me love this story even more.

Wow…what a beautiful story this was. This is the author’s second published work. Her first, The Mason List, was a solid read for me but this book went to a higher level. Who knew rescuing a dog could lead you to finding a lonely and broken man that eventually will give you his love?

Last year, I loved S.D. Hendrickson’s fantastic debut, The Mason List, so I couldn’t wait to read more from this author. The way Ms. Hendrickson writes is so brilliantly filled with emotion and heartbreak, so I had high expectations for Waiting for Wyatt, and she didn’t disappoint. This is a powerfully written romance about love and redemption. It’s a slow-paced but moving novel that I highly recommend to readers who love emotional books.
