* Mild Spoilers*

His To Protect is the first book I have ever read by Stacey Lynn and I really enjoyed her writing style! This book was an amazing read for me. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because the epilogue was a painful cliffhanger that will drive me crazy til the next book comes out. So for the cost to my metal health I took off a 1/2 a star. Just sayin'!

I went on NetGalley and requested this book before I was even finished the first in the series, His to Love. That's just how much I like this author's writing and how captivated I become while reading one of her stories.

His to Protect is about Declan, the owner of Fireside whom we met in the first book. When he see's that someone has been digging through his trash outside of his restaurant he decides to stay late on night to catch the teenagers he'

'His to Protect' by Stacey Lynn is book two in the "Fireside" series.
This is the story of Declan James and Trina Wilson.
Declan had felt he had learned the hard way not to trust women after his wife up and left him. They had started a restaurant together and now he left running it. So trusting women any time soon wasn't going to be something Declan was going to be doing.
Trina too had a bad marriage but Trina

This was a strong read of a woman taking a stand and stopping a powerful man having control of her. Think Sleeping with the Enemy crossed with an Alpha Man who had the past experience of heartache from a manipulator he married. Both of these characters are perfect for each other.

We are taken on a journey, (yes... I know an over used concept, sorry) of a man who has the innate need to protect this woman he discovers rummaging through the

This is the story of Trina and Declan, two hurt souls.
I really liked this story! The plot moved in a great tempo and the relationship was nicely built. Ms. Lynn wrote a beautiful story about a very difficult subject (domestic abuse). Ms. Lynn respected the heroine and her past! I didn't pity Trina but I respected her power and strength although how hurt (emotionally and ph

Stacey Lynn did a great job of writing about an abused woman learning to let her walls down while the big overprotective guy does everything he can to show her not all men are like her abusive husband. Declan was very protective and even possessive with Trina but not in a way that would scare off an abuse victim. Everything about Declan draws you in. The way he treats Trina yet still carry his own hurt and bitterness from a failed marriage just makes you want to swoon and be the one to

I really enjoyed His To Protect.

The storyline was emotional, entertaining and the characters were likable and very relatable.
It was heartwarming watching the relationship between Trina and Declan develop. After everything Trina had gone through Declan was the perfect man to help her through her insecurities and fears.
They truly were perfect for each other.

Overall His To Protect was a well written contemporary romance that held my interest from start to finish and I highly recommend it.

Another great Fireside book. Trina has been through a lot, but comes out on the other side with a great guy. Declan is just amazing and yummy and protective. I wanted worse stuff to happen to the ex.

The epilogue is great until there's a mini-cliffy involving the next couple to fall. Not nice at all.

Well, i have to admit that the second book of the "Fireside" series was way much better from the first book, even though that its plot was more common...

In the previous book, we had took some glimpses of Declan, the owner of the Fireside Dive Bar, and i have to say that his presence had intrigued me a lot...and as i understood here, with a very good reason!!!
I liked that in here, we had dual POV, something that i over enjoyed since in the first book i was missing Ty

I struggled with how to rate this book. A lot. I get where the author was going with this, but I don't think the book ever actually arrived there, unfortunately. Declan is a good guy, a caring guy, one who will do what it takes for his family, friends, and those people he cares about. Trina is running from her abusive husband, she has no friends to speak of and a family who does not seem to support her leaving her husband. All of this is

That moment when you pick up your next book, not really paying that much attention, to find out that you're the second installment of a series you've been waiting for. SCORE! Yep, that was my exact feeling yesterday when I picked this up and starting reading it. And I never put it down.

Before I continue, I need to put up a HUGE DISCLAIMER. So consider yourself warned. If you have ever been a victim of abuse or no someone who's gone through it, this "may" not be the book for yo

Although His to Protect can be read as a standalone, we do first meet Declan in His to Love. We didn't really get to know him and there was always something about him that made me want more. So I was excited when I saw that he was getting his own book.

Trina Wilson has packed up and left her abusive husband. She has hardly any money but has a plan to get as far away from him as possible. When she makes a stop in Detroit, she thought she would be there for just a few days until she mo

This is the second book in this new series by Lynn and I liked this one a little bit more then the first one for many reasons including the plot and the characters.

We meet Trina who has finally escaped her abusive husband. Not having much family or friends and only a few possessions and very little money she decides to head north with her dog. Trina is doing all that she can to save as much money as she can so she feeds her dog leftovers from the dumpster behind a restaurant. While doing so she

Trina has been an abused wife for more years than she would like to admit but she stayed with him for a very unselfish reason but now it's time for her to leave before he kills her. In His to Love Declan mentions that there has been some activity in the alley behind his restaurant and he is determined to scare the kids off, little does he know that the person in the alley will change his life forever! WOW! This book grabbed me by heart from the very first page and I could not put it down! Trina and Declan are two characters I will remember for quite a while. The story was very well done and handled a difficult topic perfectly. Great job by the author on this one.

His to Protect is a wonderful addition to The Fireside series. This was a quick and easy read for me. His to Protect follows the story of Declan and Trina and is told from dual points of view. When we first meet up with Trina, she is on the road with her dog. She wants nothing more than to escape her past. The last thing she expected was Declan. Declan has been working hard to save his restaurant and has sworn off women. But, when he comes across Trina, there is just something about her. She’s a ...more

4 warm stars for His to Protect (Fireside #2) by Stacey Lynn.

Trina – the female lead – is a woman on the run. Used by her family and abused by her husband. But even hurt and broken she still remembers the woman she once was. She knows what is wrong with her – every time she flinches just when someone comes a little to close to her. She is a well written and developed character – from her appearance to her struggles and demons. They are clear to the reader and we can see quite easy the transform

Really nothing special about this book. Some of it irritated me and I found the story lacking. How do you run away from your husband, and within the week you are relying on another man, who you start getting feelings for. I think it would've worked out better if the first part of the story was her moving from town to town, learning who she is, and giving herself time to heal from the abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband. Also, why on earth would you keep the car you were given from you ...more
