This is an excellent edition of a pretty boring Latin text. The Res Gestae is a very manageable work for intermediate readers because the grammar is clear and the vocabulary is for the most part quite common. What strikes me as I read this in 2025 is how easy it is to imagine our current president demanding that similar inscriptions be put up around the country in his own honor as he nears the end of his tenure. Authoritarians are all alike. ::yawns::
