2 stars. This one just didn’t work for me

After years of dreaming and praying for the man of her dreams, Rachel is totally swept off her feet when Brooks comes into her life. Smart, funny and sexy, he is everything she ever wanted, and they fall in mad love, get engaged and are well on their way to their happy ever after. But just before they marry, Brooks is violently killed in front of her. She is left shattered but slowly picks herself up, only for life to twist in a way she never expected. 15

I really enjoyed reading this story and have to say that this is an ugly cry book! Oh the tears that I had but you feel every emotion. There are so many raw emotions that will run in this book and you will feel them as if it was real, this book just feels so real as if it was someone's life. This book will touch your heart and stay there. It's such a heartfelt book and I believe the author did an amazing job writing this story.

THE STRENGHT OF LOVE by G.L. Ross was a heartwarming/heart wrenching read, it touched pieces of my heart.

The story in this book is well written and well developed, the plot is a little slow at times but hold out and keep reading, the story really starts to take off midway through the book. The characters in this book really touch you in so many ways, the life struggles that Rachel goes through will break your heart.

Rachel prays that God will give her someone to love and grow old with and when li

I’m going to fully admit here and now that the contemporary romance genre is not my favorite. Yes, I like it. No, it’s not my favorite. Most of the books I find are either too sappy or the characters spend more time in bed than out and it just bugs me. But that’s not the way it is with The Strength of Love by G. L. Ross. This book actually has substance and the characters don’t spend more time in than out of bed.

We all know that tragedy strikes the best of us and that it sucks. But what happens

As a blogger I read a lot of books, but I can honestly say that I have never read a more compelling and beautiful story than this one. It really made me not only stop and think about all the trials and tribulations that the main character was going through, but it made me feel and I mean really feel!! I felt every emotion reading this book, all the good, all the bad, and all the holy cow what just happened? The author told a story that will make you really think about how much we have to depend ...more

A truly inspirational read and so unlike your modern-day fairy tale romances. I have personally never read anything by this author and was intrigued after reading the blurb about the book. This book is about real life relationships and the trials and tribulations that most people actually go through. This book has its warm and fuzzy moments that will make you swoon but it will also have you laughing, crying and every motion in between.

What a spectacular roller coaster ride!! From word one this bright and beautiful novel pulled me in and grabbed my heart. Rachel and Brooks’ love story is for the ages. But it is just the beginning. I laughed and cried and gasped at the twists and turns. The author builds a timeless story of love and loss and grief and healing all with the healing power of God’s love. Of course, friends and family have their own parts to play. It is well done and

First I got this book on netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I have never read anything by this author I chose it because I liked the book description. This is not a fairy tale romance. This to me was a fiction story of things that happen in real life and real relationships. You have to fight for the love of your kids and relationships and that is what this story is about. You will laugh, cry and feel many more emotions while reading. The biggest one you feel is hope. Thank you for letti ...more

Grab the tissues because you will need them for this book. I don't know if I was more emotional because the story line hit too close to home for me. Rachel and Brooks are an amazing couple and are each others soul mate. Tragedy strikes and Rachel's world is upside down. Thank God for good friends and family that she is able to survive. I am going to leave on that note because I do not want to spoil the story for anyone. Happy Reading!

Every once in a while a book comes along that takes the reader on an emotional journey, for me that book is The Strength of Love.

In The Strength of Love, author G.L. Ross weaves a poignant and inspirational tale of love, loss, and second chances. Set in Texas, the reader is easily drawn into the story of twenty-six year old middle school counselor Rachel Thompson. Rachel is always the bridesmaid, but never the bride. With all of her friends falling in love, getting married, and having babies, Ra

Surprising twists…

I read a lot so when a book comes along that twists and turns with surprises and sheer unexpectedness I immediately take notice. Rachel Thompson is more than ready to find true love and is overjoyed when she meets Brooks Reynolds. The rodeo cowboy is everything she ever wanted – handsome, strong and the partner she’s dreamt of her whole life. The love of her life is more than she could have hoped for. And that’s when life takes another turn. A violent and completely shocking tu

This book will test your faith. A story that just about anyone could read and relate to on all levels of life. This was my first book by Ross, and I will definitely be picking up more.

Rachel, the MC, is set up to face many challenges during the course of this story. It's not easy, and it's not pretty. This book portrays life to it's core. It's about as real as it gets. This book had me all over the scale emotionally as I fought for Rachel and what she wanted right there beside her

Again a new author for me .. such an appealing cover and the blurb looked interesting.

Easy to read, full of emotion, this makes you question how life can throw so many curve balls and still expect people to have faith and keep going. Yes, there is love, some steamy moments, humour but also a few challenges for Rachel.

I think if I got anything from it then I would say no matter how hard the road seems sometimes just keep going and there is always hope. So if you want a heart-warming story then th

WOW, This book played my heart strings, it's so full of love, loss and spiritual healing. I was hooked from the first page.
Rachel has always been the bridesmaid but never the bride so she had pretty much gave up on love til she was roped in by the sexy cowboy Brooks. They have the perfect love story, but we all know everything is always perfect, when tragedy strikes, Rachel will have to depend on love and faith. grab tissues c

G.L. Ross is a proud, sixth generation, native Texan. As a true Southern Belle, G.L. has always dreamt of the “happily ever after,” the prince riding in on the white horse sweeping her off her feet. She hasn’t found “Prince Charming” – yet (always an optimist) – but finds him every time she writes about her characters’ “happily ever after” endings.
Her motto in life is to “always find the good” in
