If you are going to buy your first house, or are moving into a house, and need a quick, fairly all-inclusive guide this is your book. When it comes to the house, I'm a hands-on kinda guy, but there are somethings that I absolutely have no idea how they work. This book, which I received as a house warming gift, has transformed from a simple to read guide on your home's systems to a tome full of wonderful treasures. Perhaps I praise this book a little too high, but for the beginning "Harry Homeowner," I would definitely suggest this book.

Have used this many times to refer to how to's around the house. Tons of play by play pictures and explanations to get the job done.
