So, I’m on my third Olivia Dade in a row. This series has inadvertently turned into an impromptu binge read but I can’t help it - I love these women.

Angie self-sabotages, her impulsiveness and her random acts of smut really make no sense...until you get farther into the story. Then the woman who drove me slightly crazy suddenly makes a helluva lot of sense. Grant is a delightful blend of nerdy and hot. He believes in making weighted decision charts. He is known as safe and logical, and certainl

This was my first novel by Olivia Dade, and it was a quick and very entertaining reading experience. I loved that it was set in a library most of all.

Writing style: Alternating POVs
Cover design: I really like this cover. The cover models actually match the physical descriptions of the main characters. The books in the background and the eyeglasses and subtitle Lovestruck Librarians in the foreground all tie-in together really well. Overall, this cover just makes me smile and want to dive right i

This is the second book in the Lovestruck Librarian series, each standalone with a complete story arc and a happy ending for the couple. Angie was introduced as a secondary character in Broken Resolutions as Penny’s boss. As the heroine of this story, she’s a fun, exciting and rather daring woman who loves her job as a library manager. She’s the source of the, well, rather X-rated materials at the library, with her love of erotica sometimes overtaking her common sense. In fact, it’s gotten her i ...more

I think that my biggest issue with this book is the characters. While I find each of them interesting in an analytical/fluid sort of way, I just couldn't connect with either Angie OR Grant. I think that the author wanted the reader to see Grant as endearing with all of his idiosyncrasies and perfection issues but I didn't. I just found him irritating and completely inauthentic. The words I was reading about his character in particular didn't mesh with the vibes that he was putting off. I don't e
Geez! I really wanted to love this book as much as Broken Resolutions-book one of the Lovestuck Librarian series by Olivia Dade. Unfortunately it fell a bit flat for me. Maybe it was too long?? I am not sure but it seemed to drag for me. I liked Angie-even from book one! She loves her erotica and wants to share that love with the world. Being the manager of the local library, maybe is not the best choice to highlight her addiction. I loved her devil may care attitude that even when she was calle ...more

Tre stelle e .
Piacevole l'ambientazione in biblioteca.

I really enjoyed this book! I think it was better than the first book in the series, and I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series. It was funny, and the characters were realistic and relatable.

This book is exceptional! I enjoyed every moment. The only reason I rated it a 4.5 instead of 5 stars is because I reserve that ultra top rating for books that stay with me for weeks on end. You know the kind of story I'm talking about.

My Reckless Valentine is Angie and Grant's story. If you read the previous book in the series, you already know that Angie is a trip and a little erotica crazed. Here, we get to see her other sides too. She's sweet, loyal, a bit insecure, and like the res

I am torn.

On one hand it is a marked improvement from the first in the series. She has taken a minute to set up future installments and her use of vocabulary is lovely. It fits the books and doesn't feel like she flipped through a word-a-day calendar like so many sub par authors do.

On the other hand it is so damn predictable that I had a really hard time finishing it. (Five days to finish a romance novel when an evening is usually enough.) And her use of foreshadowing is blatantly obvious maki

The book sounded fun from the blurb but as I read it I just could never get into the characters. Every thing seemed rushed but yet the story lagged. Overall a cute read but just didn't knock my socks off. Might just be a difference in the author's writting style & my reading style.

Romanticamente Fantasy

Very few things constitute a 'must read' for me. In order for a book to find itself on that list it has to include either Jeff Goldblum, Tom Hiddleston or books about librarians. This falls into the latter.

Angie Burrowes is the library manager in a self-described small town who is constantly coming to blows with administration. She's a standout librarian and hard worker, but her love of pushing the envelope gets her in hot water with her questionable romance and erotic fiction contests and displ

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Probably more like 3.5...but I rounded up because she's a librarian into the sexy books. Overall, this was a fun read, but I have to wonder if Grant and Angie aren't too different to make it work. Angie is coming from a life of feeling out of step with her by-the-numbers parents and Grant feels this pressure to support his parents for all they did for him as a child.

I struggled with the library's issue with Angie's running of things. Granted,
I wasn't expecting much when I went into this story, basically because of my reactions to the first book. Thankfully, this book was a lot longer than that first one, but it wasn't necessarily better.

I had a really hard time connecting with both of the main characters. Grant was too logical to be approachable and Angie was too flighty, in my opinion. However, I could see how they worked well as a couple. I just didn't like most of their relationship, especially the deception they employed to keep

I'm really enjoying this series from Olivia Dade. She's a new to me author, but when I stumbled across this series, being a librarian myself, I just knew I had to read it. First off I just want to say that I want to be Angie when I grow up (except maybe dialed back a hundred lol). I loved her sense of humor and again, as a librarian, I loved her views on her job and her patrons. There are so many of her ideas that I wish I could do at my own library, but alas. I also really enjoyed Grants charac ...more

There are a couple of complex things about disability and illness in this story and I am still working out how I feel about them.

I can say now that this is a funny, sexy fun romp of a story that stretches credulity and is tropetastic with a bit of instalove at the center of it, and I enjoyed it.

Review to come.

This one was just occasionally a little over the top for me, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this; engaging series and cast of characters, and I love the way it's not wholly focused on the two people and their relationship; their work and families are important to them too, as are their friends.

I love Olivia Dade's writing style. I liked a lot about My Reckless Valentine, which is filled with humor and witty dialogue, as well as characters who I enjoyed getting to know.

My Reckless Valentine is book #2 in the Lovestruck Librarians series and the follow-up to Broken Resolutions. The heroine, branch manager Angie, frequently finds herself in hot water with library administration. Angie has a tendency to shirk professional propriety in favor of risqué library programs and displays. Library

3.5 stars. This fun and frequently naughty book starts with a bang, when lusty librarian Angie meets Grant on an isolated road and the two of them practically combust with attraction. It’s completely against Grant’s character to jump into bed with a woman he’s barely even met, and even for Angie it’s all moving pretty fast, but that’s all swiftly sorted out when it turns out that Grant’s technically her new boss – and things become awkward.

It’s all pretty absurd, but plenty of fun as the pair of

While I was growing up, my mother kept a stack of books hidden in her closet. She told me I couldn't read them. So, naturally, whenever she left me alone for any length of time, I took them out and flipped through them. Those books raised quite a few questions in my prepubescent brain. Namely: 1) Why were there so many pirates? 2) Where did all the throbbing come from? 3) What was a "manhood"? 4) ...more
