This has to be the best beginner ukulele book out there! Everything is explained simply and clearly and the songs are easy to learn and easy to make sound good, which really builds confidence in a beginner such as myself. All of the songs have both chords and tabs, giving you more options and skills to build. There's also a strumming pattern or two for each song so you don't have to figure one out yourself. All in all, I'm really impressed with this book!

Good beginner approach

This book does not require you to read music (though that is always a useful skill for any musician) and depends on tablature to convey both the melody and suggested strumming patterns for a large selection of familiar songs and tunes. Good advice (with photos) on holding the instrument and caring for it are included, along with a CD with tracks for every song. Cartoons and witticisms are a bonus, as with most of Wayne Erbsen's books.

Nicely written book to learn well known folk songs. Enjoyed all the side notes about the songs featured in this book.

Very well written! Informative and helpful. I like that it gives the history of each song it teaches.
