Another smutty anthology. Like Girls Next Door this one also contain 19 (!) short stories that are sure to get your heart pounding. However, where Girls Next Door had a bit of romance in it, this book is way more focused on the sexual escapades of the women involved. As with all anthologies however there are bound to be stories you will like and others you will end up skipping, like I did. Here are a few that stood out to me for one reason or another.
Pledge Night by Radclyffe *** Two best friends pledge a lesbian sorority. Radclyffe really has an imagination like no other because if all sororities were like this, straight women would go extinct!
In the Stacks by Aurora Rey *** Letting off some steam with the hot girl from your American lit class... in the library of all places.
Hard, Wet Lessons by Ali Vali **** This one melted my brain a little with its hotness and I'm a little jealous because all my high school and college teachers were the opposite of crush worthy.
Fire or Flame by Nell Stark **** Takes place three years after the events of The Princess Affair as Kerry has her way with Sasha in Duke Humfrey's Library at the University of Oxford.
The First Move by Rose P. Lethe **** Jasmine plans on seducing Meg who works at the library’s reference desk. Except the tables are about to turn, right before she gets bent over one.
Of all 19 stories I pick three that involve a library. I'm starting to see a pattern here. I really don't recommend reading these back to back. It's too much smut but feel free to ignore my advice and dive in head first.
Great collection of short stories all based around College students and some very naughty professors. I really enjoyed this collection and read a new story (Sometimes two) between novels i'm reading over the past few weeks.
Three particular stories I went back to more than once was 'Extra Credit' by Fiona Riley, ‘Final Exam’ by Meghan O’Brien and 'In the Stacks' by Aurora Rey. All three stories left me captivated, and wanting more from the characters… They also left me feeling little hot under the collar.
I can't fault this collection of short stories and was intrigued by some Authors I haven't read anything from before but will now.
I thought it was pretty good. Most stories were enjoyable and of course in any compilation of short stories you will like some more than others. Worth a read, though I never read them all at one time...usually takes me a while to finish these types of books. Regardless, some pretty good authors and stories.
Better than the average anthology. Phewph *fans self*.
The fact that the vast majority of the authors are known, experienced writers really makes a noticeable difference to the work as a whole. There was only one story that I DNF. A couple of other weak links but the vast majority... yowsers.
Before I read the book I was a little concerned about what the central theme of the anthology (college girls) meant for the likely age range of the protagonists (I usually like my leads 25+) but there was a pleasing amount variety and I needn't have worried.
I should probably also mention that the pwoarrr is pretty vanilla - I've read anthologies that were meant to be more 'romance' than pwoarr that had more kink in them.
Should also mention that there's some nice romance / tenderness thrown into the mix for those of us that like that sort of thing.
Overall: can't find the words. Need to post-read bask :-/
I really enjoyed this collection of stories. Definitely Hot. Especially love finding stories about characters I recognize like Nell Starks story. Also I've been thinking about reading Rebekah Weatherspoon's Vampire Sorority Sisters series so it was great to see a story set in that world. Overall a great variety of stories revolving around college life.
I received this book from Net galley and Bold Strokes Books for an honest review.
I received a copy of this book from Inked Rainbow Reads in return for an honest review. This was an awesome book of short erotic stories. I loved that I got to read so many stories from so many of my favorite authors, but also got introduced to a few new ones to follow as well. The only common theme was that the stories were based on college campuses, and the stories run the gamut. They were hot, and sweet, and romantic, and hot! Definitely worth it.
Delivers the heat. The stories are just oozing sex. Not so big on plot but plenty big on HOT. This is a fun read filled with short stories by some of the best including Radclyffe. College girls, roommates, hot professors, sorority pledges, and lots more to stimulate the imagination.
Girls on Campus is unbelievably hot and the perfect book to keep on your bedside table. Some of the stories are so good that I’m sure I’ll want to go back and re-read them again and again. Radclyffe’s ‘Pledge Night’ was a brilliant start to the book and will leave you breathless and to follow it with ‘In the Stacks’ by Aurora Rey was a great choice. These ladies really know how to get the pulse racing. I also really loved ‘Final Exam by Meghan O’Brien, which had first timer Jess finding out what sex is all about from butch friend Mike. Both were really lovely characters and I’d really like to find out more about them in a longer story. ‘A Gift from McGovern’ by Lea Daley was a really sweet story about how things have changed for lesbians since her characters met in 1972. I loved it and this would definitely make a terrific novel if the author is interested in taking it further. ‘The First Move by Rose P Lethe was a librarian fantasy and utterly filthy - a really hot read. The final story ‘Practice makes Perfect’ by Sandy Lowe was sublime erotica and the ideal way to end this anthology. Sylvie is upset that her boyfriend says she’s a bad kisser so her room-mate Bennett offers to help her learn. She helps her learn a whole lot more and there is a beautiful emotional connection there too. It was very sexy and tender at the same time. This was an excellent anthology and makes me realise why I love just about anything that comes from Bold Strokes Books. Their writers are top-notch and it really shows in this book. I was given this ARC free by Inked Rainbow Reads in return for an honest review.
Girls On Campus is an anthology of college and university based erotic stories from a variety of authors. A good variety of stories make this a book with a little something for everyone.
The variety in this book really was the spice of life! The stories were sexy, sensual, and erotic on many different levels so there really was something for everyone. From intimate erotica between close friends, to thrills and fun with colleagues and professionals. It really gave an insight into the ‘goings on’ behind closed doors at college and university. All the stories would earn extra credit, and A*s as they were truly amazing.
I got to discover some new authors, and experience a writing style from some familiar authors that was new and exciting to see what their stories held. I made some wonderful discoveries and had the best time reading this book. If you love erotica, this anthology will give you all you need, and more. Each story just brought a new level of excitement and a different scenario. No two stories were the same, and it really made for a fun, hot, steamy, indulgent reading experience.
Each and every story was unique and therefore just made the whole experience of reading this anthology the best thing. No complaints from me.
Like the stories, each one brought unique and new characters with exciting personalities! They all had brilliant chemistry with their erotica partners, and really were all things from sexy, steamy, hot, vulnerable, shy, intimate and sensual in their behaviours and with each other.
Absolutely loved this!!! A pleasure to read and a must have for any erotica fan.
Girls on Campus Source: Netgalley My Rating: 3/5 stars My Review:
Girls on Campus is a hit or miss collection of girl on girl short stories. There’s no easing into this collection, it’s full on naughty from the first page and, for the most part, it’s the right kind of naughty.
Highs: Overall, Girls on Campus has more highs than lows and most of those highs occur in campus libraries for me. There are three separate library stories in this collection and each one is hotter than the last. There’s the story of a shared book, shared assignment turned sexy encounter as well as a legit princess and her wife who sex it up in one of the world’s most prestigious libraries. From unplanned, spontaneous encounters to well-planned out, bring the security guards because I’m a princess encounter, the libraries on these three campuses are definitely the place to be for some down and dirty action.
Two other highlights from this collection include professor/student encounters. The hotter of the two stories involves the typical student lusting after her hot professor. A happy yet painful accident brings the two women together for some dirty fun that becomes a habit. There are some funny moments in this read that temper the naughty bits and keep the read light rather than salacious. The other professor/student encounter is far more endearing with the two women meeting at the campus pool and striking up a sweet, physical relationship. The dynamic between the older woman and the younger woman provides an interesting aspect which reinforces the professor/student relationship.
Lows: As with every collection of stories, they can’t all be winners and Girls on Campus has its share of stinkers. The two lowest of the low in this collection include the theater offering and the sorority girl vampire. The theater offering is just a bad story from start to finish with a terribly thin plot and even thinner characters. Though the vampire story isn’t poorly written, it is just a really odd story given its paranormal nature. There are no other paranormal offerings in the collection which makes this an odd man out to be sure.
The Bottom Line: Girls on Campus might not ever make it to the top of your TBR list but it shouldn’t linger at the bottom either. With the exception of a couple of stories, the bulk of the collection ranges from interesting to quite good. There isn’t a huge amount of variety in the naughty bits but the locations and situations make up for this to be sure. Again, with the exception of one or two stories, there are no major writing/technical issues to be found. In all, Girls on Campus is a fine read that will certainly pass the time and if you don’t like one of the stories you encounter, don’t worry, they’re all short reads you can breeze right through.
It's my first time reading an anthology and I really liked it, lot of authors I never read before were included in this book.
I really liked the first story, Pledge Night by Radclyffe. Okay there not much plot but it was very hot and I actually really wanted to read more of it. To see if the main character and her senior at the seniority will become something or not.
Study Buddies from Carsen Taite was my second favorite short story I think. I liked how the 'study buddies' were introduced and how the main character thought they were total idiots who ended up smarter than her. I regret not being in college anymore though, I could have tried their method to get A+.
Didn't liked some stories that much not because it was badly or poorly written but simply because it was not my style of read.
There stories for everyone in these, from the studies buddies, to teacher/student, people in love, butch/femme, threesome, more some (in some way)...... I would really recommend it if you are looking for different type of sexy stories.
I received this book from Net galley for an honest review.
This is a collection of short stories based around women in college. They are erotic shorts that get right to the heat of the moment. From sorority initiations, to intimate moments with a professor, to house parties, the library, and first time moments, there is a sultry story here for every taste. The stories are light on plot and character development but would work well in between longer novels when you have the need to turn up the steam. With many authors to choose from, it’s also a great way to check out new authors or catch up with favorites. There were a few stories that seemed to be characters from previous works and there are always a few stories in an anthology that don’t work as well. But overall, the book delivers the “guiltless pleasures” that it states it will while turning up the heat.
Girls on Campus was it is a collection of short stories about girls on campus.
This was HOT! As an entire collection I loved it, especially the f/f action going on here. But the stories were hot, scorching hot at that.
The reason why I gave this book a 4.5 rating was because the sex was there but the stories were not. Some stories were rushed in the plot department that I had to try and figure out the background in which when the story took place and what's going on. Overall a great collection with some good f/f scenes
So in all I average out the rating to a 4.5 star meeting.
Girls on Campus is a well curated collection of lesbian short stories all set on/near a school campus. The sex is explicit and most of the characters are well thought out. In quite a few of the stories, one partner is an out lesbian and the other is either closeted or curious. 2 of the better selections took place in the college library, and one which takes place in the rain, ends before our two participants finish what they've started. All in all a very satisfying erotica collection.
Girls On Campus is a collection of short erotica stories which takes place in a college setting.
I enjoyed most of the stories in Girls on Campus anthology. I was excited to see continuation of stories from familiar characters. Even though I enjoyed reading the stories from some of my favourite authors, it was good to read from those I haven't read from before.
Hot hot hot! Such a sexy collection of short stories. I was new to most of the authors but that did not matter in the least.
So many different tropes among the reads that there is something for everyone. There is not a lot of plot but if you are looking for some femme girl on girl action this is the book for you. The stories all revolve around college age women.
Girls on Campus is a collection of hot and sexy short stories about campus girls. I definitely enjoy every story in the collection. It was a good thing that every story has its own thing and a bit different from one another but still shows the campus life. This is one of the hottest lesbian stories I ever read.
This compilation wasn't bad at all, but it definitely dragged a bit as an anthology. Some of the authors knew exactly what to do and others...well, I'd read some of them again and not others. The main problem I had is that some of the stories were lacking a little in plot. That's important for me, even in an erotica anthology.
Lesbian erotica in a college setting, of varying degrees of well-written-ness. Some were usual—sorority pledge, library—others pretty inventive—swimming pool, garden in the rain. Really nothing more I can say. 3.5 pushed up to 4/5
