It's not entirely clear why GDW would have chosen to tamper with the fate of one of their most important and successful RPGs by completely replacing the system and declaring that the most important metaplot event in the setting - an event which covered the entire run of MegaTraveller, at that - had ended in a no-score "everybody loses" draw.
