This one just fell so flat for me. I enjoyed the other books in the series but I was bored midway through this one. It felt choppy and I couldn't connect with these two at all. Hoping Clint's book is better.

This is only the second book I've read in Sloan Johnson's Homeruns series, but after reading it I will go back and read the two I've missed. While I'd love to say that gay athletes are now welcome in professional sports, the truth of the matter is that's not always the case but in author Sloan Johnson's world they have a much better world to live in than most. This book shows us young love between a rookie pitcher and a young man who

Seems that Sweet Spot really does tick a lot of boxes for me!

I have adored each and every book in the Home Run series to date, and I have to say, the title is exactly what book number 4 is. It is sweet.

Nick and Cody's spring fling has been over for 4 years, but neither has forgotten those weeks.

Now, years down the track, their paths have crossed again and as much as they want to deny it, that attraction, th

A wonderful book that teaches a valuable life lesson. I really enjoyed the realistic portrayal of how difficult life is for minor league players and the impact that has on the lives of not only the players but those who love them. I instantly connected to the leading men and was cheering them on as they struggled to not only get over a rocky past but forge a bright future. The bedroom scenes were toasty hot and the dialog crisp. I'm looking forward to reading more from Ms. Johnson soon!

Another great romance!

Loved this story! It was great seeing how Cody and Nick came back together, worked through there issues and got over conflicts. The ending was sweet and perfect.

Sweet Spot is the fourth book in the Homeruns Series and I have loved each and every one of them! Sloan has hit another Homerun with this one as well. Her writing sucks me in and I don't want to walk away until it's over. Even then, I want more. I love all the characters. They are definitely a family that sticks together. I knew that before but in Sweet Spot it was more important than ever. I met Cody in Triple Play so I was excited that he was getting his own story with Nick, a triple A basebal ...more

Nick and Cody met when they were young. They fell for each other quick. It was taking moments when they could at spring training. Nick was early in his baseball career. He was still fighting for his place, even though he was the son of the GM, he wanted to make it on his own. He had to work harder, throw harder and focus harder than his competition. He didn't want anyone saying he had a hand getting to the big leagues. T

I am a really big fan of sports romances, and this series of MM ones is very, very good. I highly recommend that you read them from the beginning, so as to not miss out on a whole heap of hotness - however if you want to dip a toe in, then this is not a bad place to start.

A big part to this story is the way that one's own head can cause more trouble than really exists, and how easy it is to deny oneself happiness for fe

I gave this book 4.5 stars!

While there was off the charts chemistry between Cody and Nick there is a life lesson in here to. If you keep at your dreams, one day you will achieve them. I love how the secondary characters help make this book. The storyline had a realism feel and some pretty Hot scenes. It did take me a few chapters to get into it but once I did, I couldn't put it down.

I could waffle on about the lovely romance between Cody and Nick and how they work to get over mistakes of their past, but for me the highlight of this story is Nick's struggle to make it to the majors.

Being the son of the club's General Manager Nick doesn't want any unfair treatment because of who is father is. It is a huge hurdle for him to overcome because he isn't getting unfair treatment and his own paranoia about the

Sweet Spot lives up to its tittle, it will leave you a sweet spot in your heart once you're done with this book.

The awesomeness continue in this series, this installment will bring a smile, a tear, and a lot of love for this characters.

Cody and Nick's journey is a sweet, but strong, lovely yet upsetting love story. Don't get me wrong this is a good thing, when a book has you loving the characters but at the same time you want to shake them up, that only means one t

Nick is trying to make it to the big time. However, he is letting his mind keep him back thinking thst everyone sees him as making it because of his father.

Nick had a prior relationship with Cody and reunites with him during the new season when Cody interns for the team.

Can they put their past behind them to rekindle their relationship? Can Nick get past the mind game? Can Cody for Nick for the past?

This book is fantastic. We meet up with prior characters and get a resolution to past damage done

Better and Better

This series just blows me away with each book every time! Sloan is an amazing Author. She nails it consistently with characters full of emotion and depth. Storylines so engaging and captivating, you're hooked from the first line. I was so happy Cody got his story. He and Nick are the perfect foils for each other. It's great to catch up with all the guys, see where they are, how their lives are going. I love this series so much!!

Another lovely story in the series. I'm not a fan of NA characters, but these two matured as the story progressed. And it was great to see the rest of the clan.

Rough Going

This one has a lot of elements that saved it from being tossed, not the least of which is Cody, and the best of it being that the unique Milwaukee gay family that has come together in the previous three books is also there.

This one brings together the sweet natured but somewhat untrusting Cody from "Triple Play" and Nick, who has never appeared before but is the 24-year-old son of the son of the general manager of the Mavericks. The setting is four years after "Triple Play," which mig

Ok so on a positive note I have enjoyed the series so far. Is fun, light reading with generally good dialogue and nice pacing. Some of the plot line fell a little bit flat for me but as the rest of it is pretty good I’ll let that pass.

There is one major drawback for me that’s becoming a major obsession as aim going through the series. That drawback, I have literally no clue what any of the characters look like. It’s no exaggeration to say I know that Cody has brown hair and brown eyes because it

When I first started this book, I didn't realize it was a part of a series. Even though, it didn't seem completely necessary to read the first to enjoy this one. It was a story about what happens when lovers meet but life happens and they part. Later, when life has moved on, they are thrown back together and must relearn each other and decide if they can take the risk of loving one another again. Oh yeah, and there's baseball.

Loved it

Set four years after the previous book, it's nice to see how all the characters are doing having grown up a bit. I like that this has a bit more sports and involves the younger characters. The story is really satisfying with a whole bunch of closure for everyone. Possibly my favorite of the series so far.

mostly Nic- his ball career, and Cody (pr work) with past char. sprinkled throughout. Not bad. Recommended, easier to understand the characters (if you like that sort of stuff) if you begin with book one.

Sweet Spot is book 4 in the Homeruns series by Sloan Johnson. I love this series. So much! All of the books in the series deal with more than just a romance. There's of course, baseball, but there are is always something deeper, more emotional. That's what I love about Sloan's books. We met Cody in Triple Play and I'm so glad that he got his own story. This is a second chance romance and those are my favorite! Cody and Nick met four years ago and Cody thought it was more than just a spring train ...more

Thinking he needed to get rid of all his distractions to be a better ball player, and make it to the big leagues, Nick breaks things off with Cody, just a few short weeks after they begin dating. It's been four years now, and Cody has an internship in the media department for the Mavericks. Nick and Cody come face to face during spring training, but can they forgive and recapture what they once shared?

M/M Sports romance, second chance
I was given this book for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

This was a very sweet story. The two main characters both have fights to overcome, however, they seem to do so with great success.

I think the highlight for me in this story was not necessarily the romance between Cody and Nick, but rather the struggle that Nick goes through to make it in the majors. He has struggled his entire life to life up to, b

I knew there was a reason I got this on KU while giving KU a try. Thank goodness I did, because I definitely didn't like this book :-/. This is where Sloan and I part ways for good ... unfortunately, like her other books, this book didn't work for me. I was anticipating this one would be different but nope, nope it wasn't. Oh well, ya win some ya lose some.

This book in my opinion is about righting wrongs from the past and getting over insecurities in order to achieve happiness.

I think that Nick puts so much pressure on himself to be perfect that he does not realize that what is perfect is what he already had and gave up, Cody. Also his insecurities in my opinion is the reason that him and his dad do not have the closest relationship. I believe until he starts trusting himself and that he is good enough all the way around on his own then he will be

I was given an arc of this wonderful book to do a honest review. I got to say I'm pretty partial to Sloan because she is my friend but this book deserves 50 bright stars!!! Sloan takes you on a journey of two beautiful men who are determined not to fail no matter what. Nick, the pitcher who wants to make it for his talent not for who he is. Cody, the young guy whose family refused to accept him for who he truly was. You will find yourself feeling every emotion known to man during your read. This ...more

Sweet Spot is about Nick and Cody. Nick is a minor league baseball player who falls for Cody but decides that his career needs to come first. At the beginning of the book we see Nick break up with Cody to focus on baseball. Years pass and the men find each other face to face again with strong feelings between them still. But will Cody’s job with the league impact their ability to be together? Does Nick finally understand that he can have love and baseball? This book is very well written and high ...more
