Energy. The life force of good … and evil
And sometimes evil is stronger.

Tia spent years imprisoned in a 'special' program. When she finally escaped, she ran as far away as she could. But it wouldn't leave her alone.

Only one person can help her. Stefan. But when she contacts him for help, she gets more than she bargained for. Six weeks later, she awakens from a coma to find more problems than ever – and she's still being hunted.

Dean, moonlighting as a guard at the hospital, finds himself in an impossible situation. His belief system is stretched out of control by someone whom he can't forget ... and can't believe. Until he has no choice.

With everything on the line, Tia and Dean must work together to solve the problem that has somehow – in a very unique way – entwined them both.

I'm a huge fan of suspense, para, and all the odd ends in between. That said, this book is one nonsensical, discombobulated, Pollyanna hot mess.

I need a sign or something..

description

Chapter One

The entire third person narration in the initial chapters is off, inconsistent, and are highly confusing.

• Feels like the chapter was picked up from the middle of the story and moved to the front as if the reader is supposed to be already familiar with lots of names, places, events, and history, while...

description

• The plot and character history info being told is purposefully obtuse & vague BUT also blasted from too many directions. In a nutshell, it's sensory overload of multiple tid bits of nonsensical shit. This isn't suspenseful, mysterious. It's just poorly written splatters of info for the sake of you not understanding and therefore not knowing anything.

What's being written isn't any better than how it's written...

Female MC has some energy para power where she can basically become invisible. She was held prisoner because someone wanted to learn her power(s). She escaped and went into hiding. Now, the bad guy(?s) have caught up with her. She calls some guy named Stefan for a meeting because he once offered her help.

Details of any of ^^ are nonexistent. Fine enough if your version of suspense is someone saying, 'hey I was once in a fire.. Yeah, my friend gave me a bracelet and it reminds me of how special he was before he... Oh, and guess what I can bend steel with my pinky.' Ehh, no, just not my brand of suspense here.

Anyway, she gets to the meet place.

description

Suddenly, we ( the readers) are in the POV of some guy talking a bunch of absolute mfing nonsense. Meet The Bastard..

"And she wouldn't recognize him. Too bad. She'd always doted on him back then. Of course she didn't know who he really was. She'd always called the boss The Bastard. And he was. But that boss was the old bastard. Now he was the new Bastard.

You feeling me on that nonsense? I don't even know if he is talking about himself? Someone else? Split personality? His shadow? Wtf?

I finally gather he is The Bastard * I can't even type this craycray with a straightbface.*

"He fingered the small balls in his pocket as he watched her."

description

Anyhow, bam, we are back in Tia's head.

"That spidey sense of hers was not accurate in all situations and she hadn't figured out why, but the thought that the predator might have a new tool to help knock her spidey sense out of commission had kept her senses turned on and humming in the background- for years."

description

At this point, I'd rather ^^^ but, I'll give this a brief more minute of my life before walking away.

As she's rambling on and on and on and on...

description

Some ancient energy grabs her ass. Now, I'm assuming The Bastard is this ancient energy since he was there a minute ago and all, but the energy doesn't say. No, he just says to her - telepathically, of course:

"Damn right you're caught, bitch."

Then, a new voice "slammed into her brain." Again, tho, "she had no idea where it came from or who it was."

Aha, it's Stefan telling her to "go."

description

But, poor Stefan doesn't understand that this isn't regular old energy here keeping her from moving; oh, no... This is ancient energy!! Stefan gives up his "go" mantra and telepathically tells her:

"Die then."

Enter a mere mortal bystander to help, and instead of risking his safety, she decides...

description

She telepath''s this thought to her dudes. The Bastard, ironically enough, doesn't like this idea so much. But, Stefan, well, he isn't exactly a knight in shinning:

description

That's exactly right, finally. Do it. Die.

Tsk, tsk... I thought for a moment as she "relaxed her grip on her life" that we all won...

description

Nope. Not so lucky.

Chapter 2 - 8

Awakes to hospital. Multi page description of hospital room ensues. Guess the color of the walls? Black? Purple, maybe? Ding, ding; they're white. Shocker.

description

No? Pity:((((

description

Meet our new character, Barney Dean Walker, the cop by day & moonlighting guard for Stefan at night.

She and Dean don't get off to a good start because he doesn't like to play hide and seek with invisible folk.

description

Join the club, Dean. I'd add that I'm not in Dean's fan club either after multi-page musings on the hospital décor.

Stefan arrives. Yippie. Dean is sent to check on Simone, that friend from the first page the MC was having a convo with. {Yeah, I feel your pain. Hell, I'm the one that had to read the shit.}

Invisi-girl sneaks out and goes with Dean. Pssssst... He doesn't know this;)

Good thing she leaves, too...

description

The Bastard has also arrived and, although he miraculously knew where she was -the hospital,-, he didn't know what room and had to break into the computer system, steal a lab coat, and such. Real ancient evil super villain stuff, ya know;)

Dang, just "missed the bitch..."

description

So invisi girl is invisibly riding with Dean to Simone's house. After all of five minutes, she knows him so well that she thinks this after he gets a phone call from his mom about his kid having a nightmare:

"Nightmares? Did Dean have a son? If so why was he working evenings? He needed to be home with his boy. Sounded like his mother was babysitting, and that couldn't be an ideal situation. Where was the boy's mother?

^ I don't even really have a side of snark or meme worthy of that Pollyanna BS about someone she don't even FING know!

Fast forward through a wrong house.

Simone is gone.

description

BUT, there is a dead man in the tub.

description

Our invis girl forgets that just because Dean can't see her doesn't mean he can't hear her.

description

Might as well come out and theorize for page after page about where the friend is, if she killed the dead dude, why, how, who, and a bag of pretzels in the parlor with a screwdriver.

description

The female MC isn't alone in her Pollyanna; how sweet. He wonders why she doesn't trust Stefan and himself & is not just waiting for commands. Her:

"He was there when I was attacked too. There were several people. I didn't know who they were. It was all so confusing while I was fighting for my life, and when I woke up, I seemed to be confused still. I didn't know who was who or who was on whose side."

At least she's not that TSTL, right? Well, no. Dean wants her Pollyanna, submissive, and TSTL. Him:

"And neither did you give anyone a chance to explain. Are you always this combative?

description

Yes, Dean, most people that are attacked by supernatural voodoo mojo ancient evil energy & don't know who it was would just layback to trust and obey mfer's that she just met minutes ago.

description

Bottom Line

I made it to 20% and refuse to waste any more time on nonsense.

description

Brutal?

Yes, but the truth isn't something that I paint white for comfort. This was horrific in how it's written and ridiculously absurd and irritating in what's written.

Tia is a very special person ... she spent years imprisoned in a program because of her abilities. When she finally found a way to escape, she ran. She's been running ever since.

She knows of only one man who can help her, Stefan, and she reaches out. But something goes terribly wrong ... and six weeks later wakes up in a hospital and under the watch of a cop, Dean. His belief system is tested sorely by this woman who seemingly disappears in thin air. He seems to be the only one who can ground her.

Someone from the program has been actively searching for her and has finally located where she is. It becomes a case of good vs evil, light vs dark.

I like a little psychic paranormal .. and I have read previous books in this particular series. But somehow, this one did not engage me.

The characters are shaky, and the plot seems a little thin. It was an okay read for me ... but nothing 'special'.

Thanks to the author / Barclay Publicity / Valley Publishing /NetGalley who furnished a digital copy in return for an honest, unbiased review.

Now You See Her is a story of tragic pasts, the power of love and overcoming personal fears. It's a paranormal romance written from dual perspectives of Dean and Tia. I felt I was taken on an emotional roller coaster that is both fast paced, emotionally intricate and engaging. Dean is the kind of protector that is easy to fall in love with, and Tia was a complex character who is both vulnerable and strong at the same time. There was a surprising twist in the end. This is the best novel I've read so far by this author.

Review: Now You See Her by Dale Mayer

I received a copy of ‘Now You See Her’ from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book is number 8 in Dale Mayer’s ‘psychic visions’ series. There are characters and events referenced from past books, but it’s possible to read it as a stand-alone novel. This doesn’t have the feel of a series that’s progressing towards a goal, or has some kind of over-arching conflict that is linking all the characters’ stories.

Tia can use the energies around her to become almost invisible: chameleon-like, she can blend into her surroundings. Her abilities were discovered as a child, and she was taken away and experimented on for years. Her parents abandoned her, and she doesn’t know what became of them, or of her younger brother.

Tia eventually escaped, and has been on the run ever since. At the start of the book she’s arrived in Portland. She’s looking for a man named Stefan, another psychic who can help her with her abilities.

Before she can meet up with Stefan she is attacked.

Dean is a single father and a cop, currently on leave. As a favour to Stefan, the man who once saved his son, he is guarding a comatose Tia in her hospital bed. When Tia wakes up, she discovers that Dean can somehow see through her cloaking ability.

Tia’s friend Simone has disappeared, and Simone’s boyfriend has been murdered. The aftermath of the psychic attack on Tia left her in a coma for six weeks, and she’s now having problems controlling her cloaking power. All of this is linked to her past, and the facility she escaped from ten years ago.

There’s a good amount of action and suspense moving the plot forward, and Tia and Dean are both likeable people. I do like the ‘psychic escapes from cruel experimentation facility and is on the run’ set-up. I always think it works great for super hero backstories. Tia’s cloaking ability, and her other emerging psychic abilities are nicely detailed. There’s a mix of traditional psychic story elements like energy flow and chakras, and perhaps a hint that the psychics may have been fae-based, given that they are blocked by metal. Although maybe not – given steel, rather than iron is the problem, and a couple of them aren’t really affected at all. All the world building is in familiar territory for paranormal romance readers. It doesn’t necessarily break any new ground, but it does cover off the types of things that make paranormals fun.

I had some problems reconciling what the big urgencies were for the characters. Tia occasionally recalls that Simone is missing and that someone really should do something about that, rather than chase up the colder leads around what happened to a bunch of children who were experimented on in a facility ten years ago. Having said that, I did like that in addition to worrying about controlling their psychic powers and stopping the bad guys and not getting killed, both Tia and Dean were both normal people with normal problems, like getting jobs and arranging childcare.

Their romance doesn’t really get started until relatively late in the story, and does take a back seat to most of the action until right at the end. Given that there’s a lot going on this makes sense, but I mostly like romance with a bit more focus on the relationship developing between the hero and heroine.

I spent some time wondering why Tia hadn’t worked out that she had a really awesome psychic power. It’s hard to avoid thinking about how cool it would be if she’d been a cat burglar, but I’ll reluctantly acknowledge that it’s probably a good thing that not everyone in books who ends up with an ability like this turns to crime. I’m sure there are some good things you can do with cloaking/invisibility that will greatly benefit the Public. I can’t think off the top of my head what they are, but there must be something. At least she wasn’t all ‘woe is me, my gift is a curse!’ She was pretty realistic about how much her life had sucked through having it, but that it didn’t mean she was inherently bad or unfortunate.

All up I liked the story.

I was offered a copy of this book in exchange for a review. So this was a bit of a strange book for me because while I enjoyed it this book was hard for me to finish, I just couldn't seem to really get into it. This is not the first book in the series I have read I did read Tuesday's Child but I still haven't finished it and I started reading it well over a year ago. It's like the stories are interesting but for some reason they can't keep me engaged. So keep in mind that my issues with the book really don't have anything to do with the story itself. I actually think Dale Mayer writes a great story, it's well written and flows well, but I did find that this book had a lot of information in and I sort of felt it needed to be pared back a bit just to make it a little easier to follow. I found in the after the 50% mark I was wanting the story to pick up and little and it didn't until probably the 85% mark, I ended up skimming at times because I was getting a little bored. Now the other issues I had with the story were that it felt like Jeremy, Dean's son, was almost forgotten about at the end and it felt like there was a very abrupt end to the story, we didn't get to see what happened with Simone (although maybe we will see her in the next book?) and there wasn't much closure to what will happen with Dean and Tia. Overall I would say if you are looking for a story about psychics or of that type of genre this would probably be a good read for the but keep in mind if you are after something with a lot of suspense you will probably find this book lacking, but it was definitely well written.

I was given an electronic copy by Barclay Publicity and NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

Although Now You See Her is the eighth book in the Psychic Visions series, it reads more like an individual entity. It is a typical paranormal romance thriller, complete with psychic and latent abilities, an evil presence, and an instant connection between the two main characters. The romantic aspect falls a little on the unbelievable side of the scale, as the declarations of love after a couple of days ring false. Now You See Her has a fair amount of action, which helps keep the plot on track and well paced. The premise of the story is interesting, as the problems with Tia's energy have created the possibility for exciting plot lines in the future. The biggest issue that I have with this book is the fact that it reads a little too familiar to me. It is my opinion that this book is too similar to others in this category, which takes away from the overall success.

Although I did find Tia to be a strong main character, there were too many holes in her backstory for her to be a complete character. It just did not seem possible to me that she would not have fully realized her potential by now, as her energy related abilities came to her at an early age. The point of view changes, which sometimes did overlap, were unnecessary and took away from the primary focus of the book. Readers who enjoy paranormal romance novels will enjoy Now You See Her, but I found it to be middle of the road at best.

The book has been given to me by the author for an honest review.

As some of you know, i'm a big fan of werewolves, cyborgs and aliens, so when the author proposed me to read this one, i thought that i give it a try. The plot was attracting.

The story is about Tia, who spent a lot of time being in a kind of prison without having done anything special but being special in some ways.
It's also about Dean, a cop working as a guard at a hospital.
Those two met when Dean was guarding Tia's room at the same hospital, after she was attacked on the street.
I don't know if i can tell more about the book without telling to much !

About the writing, i think it's pretty well written, but i'm not sure i am the best at finding mistakes (i make a lot myself !)
The story by itself is great and there is a lot of unexpected developments, some funny, some far than funny.

So if you are in PNR psychic thing with a lot of energy control and all, it's for you :)
i had fun reading it even if it's not "my way of read"

Tia has psychic gifts that as a child she couldn't control, so her parents enrolled her in a program that was meant to help her and left her there. The doctor, having discovered Tia's gifts, was determined to get them for his own or kill anyone who got in the way. Tia finally escaped, but never felt like she was safe. She finally turns to Stefan for help, but the attack comes before he can get to her.

Stefan helped Dean by saving his son, so when Stefan asked for his help in return Dean couldn't say no. He was on sick leave and needed the extra money and how hard would it be to guard a woman, in a hospital, in a coma? Only trouble was she disappeared or did she?

Read 'Now You See Her' to find out why Dean couldn't see her, but could helped her get free from the terrors of her past.

Tia has been hiding for years, she can't let him find her. She has a unique talent, she blends into the energy around her, making her invisible. She's tired of hiding and turns to Stefan for help. However the person looking for her attacks her, and Stefan gets her to the hospital. What she doesn't realize at first is that she is safe and among friends, she feels the need to run.

Dean is on guard duty, watching over Tia for Stefan. It's been weeks since the incident that left her comatose. He checked on her, turned around and she was gone. Fortunately Stefan was in the hospital at the time and joins him, explaining Tia's ability. Dean's more than a little grateful that at least Stefan understood what was going on. He certainly didn't. As he goes off duty, he's going to check on Tia's friend Simone. Tia's worried about her since she helped set up the meeting with Stefan. What he didn't expect was Tia to slip away and join him. First to an address that wasn't correct, but was actually Tia's family dwelling, then to the correct place.

This is the beginning of a very interesting relationship, Dean can hear and sense her when she's invisible. This makes for some amusing conversations. There's also the fact that someone is hunting for her but the main suspect is supposedly dead.

Dean finds himself unable to stay away from her, even as some very strange things happen to her. Dr. Maddy and Stefan are concerned because her energy appears to be shorting out, causing only parts of her to disappear, very disconcerting.

There's plenty of things going on to keep you turning the pages as Dean, Stephan and Dr. Maddy try to figure out what's going on. Both with Tia's energy and who is looking for her.

I was truly surprised at the conclusion of this one, I never saw it coming.

Suspense, intrigue, romance and so much more.

Tia had been imprisoned for years in a so-called "special program" and when she finally managed to escape she ran as far away as she could so they would leave her alone. Only psychic Stefan Kronos can help her, but when she contacts him for help she gets more than she imagined- she wakes from a coma to even more problems than she ever thought she had before. Cop Dean is moonlighting as a guard at the hospital and instead finds himself in an impossible situation as his belief system is stretched out of control by a woman he can't forget. Tia and Dean need to work together to solve the problem that seems to have entwined them both.

This was a great story that had lots of mystery and drama elements mixed in with a little romance as Tia and Dean worked through the clues as they found them in order to solve the mystery of the program she was imprisoned by. There was lots of drama and excitement as they worked their way through whatever they were able to find. I loved the way the story developed and the way they worked together. Well written it was easy to read and understand.

Tia was held prisoner as a child finally escaping as a young woman. The doctor who held wanted to use her paranormal skills. However, despite the doctor's death there's still someone from the facility trying to pull her in again. Tia calls Stefan for help but it goes dangerously wrong and Tia wakes to find that she's been in a coma for 6 weeks. She knows she's in a hospital and that there's a guard at her door so she thinks she's been captured. Dean is a police officer on leave so is guarding Tia for Stefan but it turns out he'd tried to help her that night only to see her disappear. He's drawn to her and is determined to help her now. When the person who's after Tia it's a surprise to all involved.

My one issue was a name change for Stefan's wife. In Eyes to the Soul her name is Celina but here her name is Mina.

'I suppose you believe in fairy tales too, don't you?'

Tia's life is heartbreaking, the judgements, the abuse and having to live on the run...hiding from everyone and everything. But she and Dean unknowingly form a bond and he becomes her champion. As a protector he defends many but there is something about Tia that calls to his soul. I love that even as her 'skills' blow his mind, he stands as her shield, protecting her from the judgements of others who may not understand. They bring out a softer, less defensive side of each other when they are together and then there is Stefan, who as always steals the show!

Good build up

This is an intriguing series and in this book we got another new paranormal power and group of baddies.

The boss is not who I expected but I was close with the proximity aspect. The writing is fast paced and I loved the glimpses of Stefan in his HEA. I think the funniest or a near top fav moment was the interaction with the Captain..I had to re-read that several times😂😜The Hunter addition was intriguing and I look forward to the next story!

The plot didn’t run smoothly nor did the abilities and knowingness with Tia. Her character lacked also her focus of what she was doing since she was out. To say she was fragmented, and the love with Dean was shallow. Then with Dean being attacked when he first help her. Then throw in the kidnapping of Deans son. The ending with the missing piece of who, gave the story closure. Over all okay too many plots, and characters weren’t developed nor real.

I’ve been hooked from the beginning

I’ve read the first six books, had to skip # 7 till it gets here because I prefer real books but with Dale Mayer and her psychic Visions series I’ll read them anyway I can. Just finished this one and loved it just as much as all the others. Highly recommend this series and even though I haven’t read any of her other books yet, I’m sure they are just as good

Expanding your mind as a reader is something wonderours, it blows misconceptions and beliefs right out of the window especially when it comes to a series like this. It leaves me with my imagination in overdrive, both scared and awed at the possibilities. Such depth of characters and plot, twists, suspense and so much more and that leads to an experience of compulsory reading. I escaped and completely lost myself in the pages right to the end.

You know that question "If you could have any super power, what would it be?" Who usually chooses invisibility? Come on, raise your hands. No one will be judgy. LOL Well, our heroine, Tia, pretty much has that ability. She doesn't become invisible, so much as she rearranges her energy somehow, enabling her to essentially blend in with her surroundings. Tada, Camoflauge Girl. LOL

Unfortunately, this ability isn't done because it's fun for her. It's done for survival. She's been on the run and in fear for her life for years. Lately though, she's grown a little complacent and has relaxed to the point she isn't as diligent as she should be. Big mistake. Big. Huge. (Okay, I just channeled Pretty Woman there. So what, the reference works here. LOL) Thankfully, before the bad guy can capture her, Stefan is able to help her. Phew, that was close. Her phone call to him happened just in time. But Tia only knows of him and doesn't know if she can trust him. Silly Tia, it's Stefan, of course, you can trust him. There's also a Good Samaritan nearby that tries to help her, but Tia is worried if he gets too close he'll be hurt. Little does she know he's not hurt, but he does gain some new abilities and he'll come to play a very important role in Tia's present and future.

Then we have Dean, our hero. Well okay, he'll become Tia's hero, she just isn't feeling it yet. She's understandably hesitant about trusting people. Dean, a cop, is working a part-time secondary job as a guard watching over Tia while he's on medical leave. He thinks she's a little loco, well she is in a psych ward after all, but Stefan only has her there to keep her hidden. Psst...yes, Dean knows Stefan and feels he can never repay Stefan for what he did for him...he helped save his young son, Jeremy.

So Tia does her woo woo stuff and escapes the hospital and Dean is surprised by his passenger. Can you imagine someone just appearing? LOL After an eventful visit to her friend Simone's house and finding no Simone, but a dead body instead, as in Brennan, Simone's partner, Dean is running on fumes and invites Tia to stay the night at his place. Don't get too excited, she'll sleep in his son's room, as he's currently visiting his Grandma. Well okay, Tia does end up in Dean's bed at some point during the night. *eye waggle* Things are getting even more interesting, huh?

Yes, they are, in more ways than one. It seems Tia's body is shutting down in some ways. For some reason though, Dean's touch seems to help stabilize her short circuiting. But she needs more help than that, and Stefan is miraculously able to get her on Maddy's Floor (see book 3 in the series) for a couple of days.

As Dean and Tia, with Stefan's help, try to unravel the mystery surrounding Tia's childhood, Dean's captain, partner, and fellow officers get involved as Dean's son, Jeremy, is kidnapped. Jeremy is quickly found and they realize it was all a power play on the bad guy's part, but for their safety and his sanity, Dean sends his Mom and Jeremy on an impromptu vacation.

Now that they're safe, Dean can fully concentrate on helping Tia find closure on her past. Well, maybe he can't fully concentrate on that as he's discovering how important Tia is becoming to him. He wants to give her everything she's never had...love, a home, a family, safety, and a sense of peace. Tia wants to have that normal life with Dean too, but is worried it'll never happen for her. Sad to say, she may be right and she's taken from the hotel room they're hiding in and Dean doesn't know how to find her. Tia is dealt another shocking blow as she comes face to face with someone she thought was on her side during her previous captivity, yet now it seems like no one ever was. How much more can this poor woman take? I wanted to hug her so many times.

As Dean races to find Tia, she's discovering new levels to her abilities that she never thought possible. Unfortunately, as she's enjoying the benefits that come with them, and right as she regains her freedom, she's gravely injured...or is she showing someone else's injury? Hmm...interesting. I will say the identity of the bad guy is an unexpected revelation that no one would've guessed and he had an inside track into everything going on, allowing him to prey upon those he felt fit his criteria.

What will Tia agree to do in order to save someone she loves? Will Dean and Tia get their HEA? Will Tia finally get the life she's always dreamed of, but never thought she could have?

I highly recommend this book, but do suggest you read the series in order as previous characters are mentioned throughout this story. I'm looking forward to seeing who and what abilities Dale gives us next.

*received ARC in exchange for honest review*

My first impression on this was that it was about a psychic (sorry for using that word, guys) with power issues trying to stay safe. Check. I also assumed it was a romance (no matter the amount) between her and the hero. Double check. At the end of reading this, I instead was left with the impression that Tia is extremely stubborn and Dean is forever confused with the supernatural. Only the last 20% of this ebook saves its first impression, because it was by then that I got really excited with the story.

The first few pages were expected because it's in the synopsis. After that, I was invested in her finding out just how much she'd missed in the past six months. I think it was around the time she refused help from Stefan and Dean that I started to get annoyed. And that's okay, because as a character she's doing her job at selling the experience. What I couldn't really get into was the constant pattern of something happening to her and Dean being shocked all over again as if he'd never already done it a dozen times. It probably doesn't help that I wasn't in the mood for life, but the story was still intriguing enough to continue. Some parts would get really interesting, and at other times, I was skipping monologues to get back to the main point of all this. It wasn't until a little more than half of this book that my situation changed and I got really into it.

The end makes it worth the wait.

In the end, this book ranks around a three for me personally because of the way it left me feeling, but rereading it again made things better. It took me a few days to read this because of the mood it often brought me into, but the overall plot twist and action bumped my star experience up to a four (yes the second half was that good).

The writing style was a little different, less floral writing and more militant which matches the whole cop-murder-some-serious-waste ambiance, but the dialogue was a little lacking. Conversations between Dean and his partner with this writing style matched because they're both cops and professional. The style used between Dean and Tia? Not so much. It made things feel a little stilted because the same style's being used for a number of characters who couldn't be more different, and it felt like all the characters sounded the same. The way they spoke also threw off my flow of reading, because a lot of times it was all very formal and stiff, something that I as a reader haven't really come across for other characters set in this time and era. Whether or not it counts in a review, I just couldn't fall into the story because of it.

I did enjoy Stefan with his no-nonsense attitude, and I think it's because of that, that I may have compared the others to him during my first time reading it a little unfairly. At the same time, I feel like they could've stepped up their game because despite being a top-notch psychic (yeah I know), Dean's a good cop and Tia's been striving for survivor like a dog who's had it with being kicked. You'd think that they'd both be a little more sure of their actions and less naive with the things that happened to them from the very beginning. And in comparison, it made Tia look like a wounded dog who wouldn't stop barking and a cop who was so injured, any new thing added to his normal life repeatedly tripped him up, but maybe it was just meant to be a part of their character development.

They weren't always like that, mind you, as things did get better and their characters progressed. Another reason why I liked this. The character development was a little slow which didn't match the ongoing plot twists of the "mystery" itself, but eventually they were on the same page with the 'big reveal'.

So in conclusion, the writing style (a mild thing), the lack of movement for a few (word used lightly) chapters, and the way Tia was with her stubborn self made this for an interesting read with me struggling to endear myself towards the characters.

It was a bit of a rough start for me at first but it ended with a mind-blowing shocker. Even mildly disturbing, for one particular character (eeewwww omg). All in all, the action itself was awesome and although I wasn't completely sold on their falling for each other, I did totally dig it when it was already a thing. I wasn't in the best of moods when I started this but the ending definitely captured me despite it, and it's a hard recommend for this series. I read the first book and thought it was amazing. This author sets the standards high on other psychic (so so sorry) paranormal investigations. It's different, unique and five-stars on the creepy factor.

>Book Review – Now You See Her –

>I am an independent reviewer. This is the eighth book in the Psychic Vision Series. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but I didn’t have any difficulty following this story. The story, as a whole was unique, heartbreaking and exciting. I did have two instances of confusion that I had to re-read and still don’t really understand.

>Tia is a young woman on the run from the group who held her captive since she was a child. Tia has psychic abilities and was forced to undergo torturous testing to find her limits and capabilities. Dean is a cop and single dad. He tries to help Tia as she is being attacked mentally. His health is affected due to Tia’s attack. Weeks later, Dean and Tia cross paths again and find they have a connection due to the attack. This connection and the resulting health recovery of both Tia and Dean is the first part of the story I did not understand. I thought Tia had something placed in her to slowly bleed away her energy, but then she holds hands with Dean and they are both all better. I had to skip over that part in order to enjoy more of the story.

>The physical connection between Dean and Tia needs to be developed more. There were small instances of sexual tension, but even directly after the one and only sex scene, the tension falls flat. Dean and Tia could have been making dinner together instead of having sex and the tension would have been the same. A little more yearning on both of their parts, some description on how their bodies react to each other, would have made the reader want to cheer to get the two characters together. Keeping the story without any sexual tension and taking out the one sex scene would have made this story excellent for young adults. I am unsure what the author intended as to an audience.

>I don’t want to spoil anything, but Tia makes a decision at the end of the book, in order to save Dean. At least I think she does. If she did, then she made a promise to the bad guy and the story ends in a cliffhanger. This part of the story is the second instance I was confused. Did Tia or didn’t Tia promise something to the bad guy? I couldn’t tell and the story ended, so I was unable to use story clues to figure out any answers.

>This story is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the book 4 stars. I am giving the author the benefit of the doubt in the confusing sections, knowing full well the confusion could just be my fault.
