Compared to other scary books for kids that I have read recently this one is quite good. The plot is well structured. The characters seem quite real to me. The lead character is a bit of a daredevil and tends to lead her less courageous friend into trouble. The fact that this daredevil character is a girl I also think is a plus but Im not sure if this might put some boy readers off. Still, if they give it a go, Im sure they will find they enjoy it.
