Finn's summer vacation plans didn't include leaving the planet.
When he isn't surfing or scuba diving, Finn likes building vehicles that go fast, while his little sister dreams of being an astronaut. So the two enroll at Kennedy Space Camp, where Finn can design rockets and Gabi can pilot them. But a shocking countdown is ticking behind the scenes, and Gabi goes missing.

I hope readers will enjoy my third adventure with Finn and little sister Gabi that pushes them to their limits. In this book you'll find bravery, treachery, mystery and camaraderie. Finn, Axel and Burrito are still good friends, ready to try any x-game sport they can. But Gabi turns out to be the real thrill seeker, making friends at camp and pursuing her dreams. Being hard-of-hearing never slows her down. In the end, her sign language abilities serve her well. You'll cheer for these two unlikel ...more

Loved the descriptive text in this story! It really helped to draw you in right away with detailed character descriptions and scenes. We didn't read the first two books yet (received this one for a review) but it didn't seem to matter as the story helps fill you in and can stand alone. The book moves along nicely with both male & female lead characters and the chapters alternate between all the characters telling the story so you get different points of view which is cool for this age group ...more

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review, and as I've not read this author before, I just had to sign up for a newsletter! Although the book is a YA, I couldn't enjoy it more if it was an adult story! Finn Erlich never expected he would dive in outer space instead of diving in the Atlantic, but when he learned his little sister was missing from space camp, he enlisted his two friends to help him go to Sweden and bug, borrow, or hitch a ride with a billionaire's rocket as he knew his ...more

Finn's Rocket is the next installment of the kids action series. It is summer vacation and Gabby is headed to Space Camp while Finn is in the rocket competition. Gabby is a bit apprehensive at first, but soon finds that she is enjoying the Space Camp experience. Things go horribly wrong when the camp director has nefarious plans of her own that involve sending Gabby into space. Finn races to the rescue talking his way onto a commercial space flight. However, finding Gabby and bringing her home s ...more

Finn's Rocket was a thrilling story from beginning to end. Finn a teenage boy thinks his summer is going to be great. He is a daredevil and loves the thrill of just about anything. His little sister Gabi loves Space and wants to learn more about becoming an astronaut. While her big brother is away she is going to Space Camp. However neither of their summer plans will turn out the way they planned. Their are lots of twist and turns in this story especially due to some crazy characters.

This was a fun book to read. The adventure and action is non-stop and the reader learns a lot about space travel along the way. Finn and Gabi are smart, brave and resilient. There were points where I got worried and I'm not a kid. Coming down to earth in a space pod from the international space station is pretty scary stuff, so is being abducted by an evil astronaut. So this book is not suitable for little kids. There are moments where you have to suspend your disbelief in terms of what the kids ...more

Finn's Rocket is a riveting middle grade story that takes readers on an epic journey to outer space as Finn attempts to thwart a kidnapping and rescue his little sister.

Finn and Gabi live in south Florida and enjoy spending their time soaking up the sand and surf. However, this summer a new adventure is awaiting them. Gabi is heading off to Space Camp to pursue her dream of being an astronaut and Finn is off to a rocket competition after winning a school contest. Both of the kids begin having se

Finn’s Rocket is seriously packed with adventure. If a middle grade/ young adult reader enjoys sports, extreme sports, and outer space then this is the book for him or her. I loved the character’s voices as each faced serious challenges. Gabi was hesitant about space camp, and fearful in space after she’d been duped to be sent up in space. Finn was insecure about his abilities to get himself and his sister home from outer space, but both brother and sister succeed in overcoming the climax of the ...more

Finn’s Rocket is a story about kids going into space! One rollercoaster read. What twists and turns…. Kids as astronauts! This book has all of this and more. This is the first book of the Finn adventure series that I have read and once I got over the fact that it was a book that told a story about very intelligent kids I really enjoyed it.

Finn and his sister Gabi both join the Kennedy Space center for the holidays so both of them can do what they love. The twist in the tale is when he is unable

If you know a middle grade reader that enjoys adventure books, Finn's Rocket: A Surfer Catches Air is a great recommendation or better yet, a wonderful gift idea. This fast-paced book will keep young readers turning the pages as the story moves between Finn's adrenaline-filled activities in the U.S. and Europe and Gabi's fascinating week at astronaut camp.

I was so impressed with the amount of scientific and technical information included in the descriptions about NASA procedures and training. I

I am not familiar with surfing (the offline kind) and I was given a glimpse into that world. I am not familiar with space travel and I got to peek at what space programs do. I am not hard of hearing so I have a sort of idea what happens when wearing hearing aids. The main characters also went on other adventures that seem alien to me.

These adventures are what make the book exciting. The action-packed story is thrilling. It is quite fast-paced, so I think kids would really enjoy it. Although, for

I really enjoyed this book and so did my 9 year old. The first chapter started off a little slow for him but he got more interested as we went along. The book is very well written and there was a lot detail given. I really enjoyed the way the chapters were written, with one chapter devoted to a certain character. I feel like we really got to learn a lot about each of the characters this way. I also feel like this made you want to keep reading so you could find out what happened next in that char ...more

I received a free ecopy of this book for an honest review.

Finn's Rocket is a fun book for teens to read. Finn is a teenager who has the typical relationship with his best friends. He and his 12 year old sister seem to have a better relationship than many kids their age, but that could partly be because they have caring and understanding parents.

I read this story in one sitting. Serena Schreiber's writing is engaging and keeps your interest. After Gabi starts Space Camp, it gets exciting and stay

If your young reader likes action and adventure they will enjoy Finn's Rocket. Although, I was slightly confused about the appropriate age group, I believe this is a good fit for a middle grader.
It's packed full of interesting characters, suspense, surfing, space, science and more. I love the relationship between Finn and his sister, they're both smart and brave with a sense of humor. The family's life style may be a little bit out of this world, but that's ok, that's what reading is for, to esc

What a great book for a high intensity middle grade adventure. The connection between Finn and his younger sister, Gabi made for an intense emotional journey as Gabi is kidnapped and sent to space by a crazy wanna be astronaut woman. I really enjoyed the multiple perspectives in the book as you got to know the main characters personally and their situations. The story strayed a touch here in there but for the most part it was hard to put the book down. I had to know what was happening next. It w ...more

I keep forgetting that this was a fantasy adventure book and I almost always forget the line between reality and fiction. I did love the adventure though and how awesome and brave Gabi and Finn are despite their age.

Things happen pretty fast and they are almost all too good to be true. Even so, I particularly love the detail that Serena put into writing. It seems like the author is extremely passionate about the outer space and becoming an astronaut. For a book labeled as young adult, it felt mo

Great, fun characters that readers can relate to. Gabi goes to space camp. Later she is missing. Did she run away? Or did someone take her? Finn, her brother, believes she might be in the Dragon Capsule on her way to the International Space Station. How will Finn save her? How will they get home? Gabi says, "The angels caught us." A great space adventure story any kid would enjoy. I received this book free for an honest review.

Author of action-adventure STEM stories (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) for middle grade readers in the Finn's Fast Books series including Finn's Ship, Finn's Car, and Finn's Rocket. The high octane books are good, clean fun for younger readers but also contain enough realistic, fast-paced action to entertain the reluctant eighth-
