First, he saved me.
I lived because he was a hero.
And then he was gone.
Uprooted by the fire that destroyed our home, my family moved away and I never saw David Andrews again.
Then, he found me.
Eighteen years later, he rescued me again - in much simpler terms, of course. By loving me, by giving me the fairy tale I’d always hoped for, he provided me with the perfect life.

“Tomorrow is not a guarantee…..neither is yesterday.”

Melissa Collins MM stories have never failed to move us. The way she captures the intensity between her characters always leaves us emotionally wrought. And so it was with eager anticipation we dove into our first MF by this author. We jumped for joy, stocked up on tissues, chocolate and wine, got ourselves in reading mode and prepared to be turned into SOBBING wrecks, needing phone support from one another, hoping to have our hearts

Wah, such a wonderful plotline, array of characters, and over all message embedded together!!

This is my second Melissa Collins read, the first being an MM novel, and I have to say that I’m utterly captivated by this author’s writing. It’s not necessarily just the story of it, but it’s the underlying and driving themes that are behind it.

For me, a great book has always been ones

Oh, this book. Since you are unable to see my flails and tearstained, puffy-eyed face, I'll have to find the words. This book is a breathtaking, fun, swoony romance about a girl and a boy whose lives have been inextricably woven together since childhood.

David Andrews saved Grace McCann when they were both just kids. Eighteen years later, their paths cross again and the connection between the two is felt almost immediately.

Grace and David quickly fall into an easy, adorable, sweet relationship—

I have been lucky enough to be a beta reader for Melissa since her first book. I have her permission to leave this book review.

First of all make sure you have time to sit down and read this book in one sitting. I did not and about went crazy. Make sure that you don't read this book in public. I laughed so hard I almost had ice cream come out my nose.

This book is about Grace and David. At 10 years old David saved Grace from her house fire. 18 years later we find David living his dream of being a

Let me start by saying that one of the main things (of MANY) that I LOVE about Melissa Collins’ writing style is how she depicts real life people and situations. Her characters are your neighbors or your best friends, they are down to earth and relatable, who wouldn’t love a hot teacher and a hot firefighter! This DEFINITELY showed in From the Wreckage.

“The need to see her again is like the flames I just fought. Ravenous.” (Melissa’s Teaser)

If you cross paths with someone at an early age, do you forget them? If that person has a profound impact on your life and you never see them again, what do you do? Search for them? Pine for them? Forget they existed?

For David and Grace, that's kind of what happened. After knowing each other for a short time and surviving a tragedy as children, they won't see each other again for eighteen years.

A chance encounter leads them on their path of love and allows them to rediscover and l

I knew this was going to be a emotionally tough read for me. Not because I knew much about the actual story, but because I knew about the dedication and the loss that this author felt the day the world stopped turning. I don’t think there is anyone that doesn’t know exactly where they were when the World Trade Center Towers in New York fell. I think everyone in the country was affected on 9/11. But for Melissa Collins, the events of the day hit closer to home and just knowing that, I knew this w ...more

This book had me struggling to form coherent thought. It’s moving, thoughtful, and seriously GREAT. I was not anticipating the emotional reaction I would have to this story, or how I would respond so strongly to Grace’s deep strength and beautiful love. I was not planning on seeing that lone tear track down my cheek and drip to my chest and I was a little caught off guard when that happened.

Gracie and David's story started when they were kids. He saved her from the wreckage - literally. Her fami

About half way through the book I realized that From the wreckage is the kind of book that Gracie would read since it's a book that has a hero a hot fireman. But the story is more than that. The whole point of the story wasn't the romance between two characters, but the work and effort people like David put to keep us safe. When I will remember this book, I will remember the people who died on 9/11. The book made me appreciate life a little more. I had underestimated first thinking that this boo ...more

This is a feel good story, like it should be on the Hallmark channel.

Grace is saved by David when they are children. Her house is on fire and he pulls her to safety. That seals his fate.

18 years later and David is still pining for Grace. He's never been in a relationship, just a string of girls. His job as a firefighter keeps him busy, but then he bumps into Grace at the bar. She's perfect. But Grace wants to go slow, she's had a pretty rough record with guys. So friends it is! But how long wil

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Melissa. Collins has outdone herself yet again. She has that something special that lets you know she loves to write. Her characters aren't just characters, they are people; people who have real feelings, real struggles, real flaws, and real strengths. She allows you to experience the journey of her characters right along with them.

From the Wreckage is breathtaking, intense, consuming, heartbreaking, emotional, funny, and ridiculous

A very loving and beautiful romance between two people who share chemistry and off-the-charts sex. Kudos to the author for creating one very sexy, hot, and passionate hero who just happens to be a firefighter.

This story is so lovely and the meaning to never forget whoever is important for us shows through every page, every word and every characters' action.
It was a really good change for me reading about a firefighter and I need to read more of Grace's books xD

Okay, okay, okay… I think I am steadily standing on my feet now. So let me thank Melissa Collins for allowing me a copy of this novel to read in exchange for an honest review. This is my first Melissa Collins book and… I can say it won't be the last.

This book is not what I expected...not at all. It was better. I knew from reading the first page this one was going to make me cry. I even told my fiance Lauren “This one’s gonna make me cry.” She asked why and all I could say was “I’m not sure, I j

I am now officially all teared out – I have taken stock options in Kleenex and if you need me I can be found rocking in the corner of the room. This is the sort of story that films are made from and I would be first in the queue.
This is the absolute epitome of what it means to love someone, of what having someone hold your heart can do to a person and of being able to release your emotions enough to give that last little piece of you over to someone else, the little bit of you they completes the

Wow, this book is one of those that will have you stopping in your tracks and really taking a second to really appreciate all that we are fortunate for. Life is hard and there is a lot of good and bad out there. It is unfair at times and when you least expect it everything can change in the blink of an eye. What had me stopping and taking pause was the lessons that this book really gives us. Life is short, we aren’t promised tomorrow or even yesterdays. What matters is today and hold

5 Love will Survive the Wreckage Stars

Are we predestined to find love?

Are we wired to find the one we are supposed to be with even when we things beyond our control tear us apart? Can we make our way back to each other even after the Wreckage?

David Andrews has known since at a young age that he was destined to save people. He started making good on that at the young age of 10 when he saved young Gracie McCann. Now as an adult David is a proud member of the New York Fire Department. Through all D

I am a die hard Melissa Collins fan, having read every single book Collins has published, I dived into From The Wreckage expecting nothing but perfection. And once again I was not disappointed. In what can only be described as a novel that accentuates the true meaning of allegiance, devotion and love.

Having a childhood friendship, that impacted one another deeply, Grace and David are forever altered when they part ways. As David grows up into a mature, responsible and handsome fire fighter. Grac

This author continues to amaze me. Each book she has written has spoken to me deeply. She can bring out the feels and tons of sexy times to make you blush and swoon all at the same time. Her heroes are so written so beautifully that you can't help but fall for them hard. And her heroines are smart, sassy, and show amazing strength. Grab one of her books and get lost in her world.

I don't know what I appreciated more out of this book. It could have been the rawness in the memory of Lt. David or the fact that while reading this story I got a true glimpse of Melissa as the teacher, survivor, lover, the family honoring a hero, and the friend. I fell back in love with the idea of "true love". Grace and David have just that, "true love". Given the battle and nature of their coming together you have no choice but to get lost in the story or in my case the stories within the sto ...more

I absolutely LOVED this book.

Wow. Just wow. That’s how this book was. The fact that it took Melissa 2 years to write and is dedicated to her uncle makes it even more special and memorable. This is more than a second chance romance it’s a ‘the stars align and fate steps in’ kind of book. It was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It was a story that left a place in my heart long after the last page was read.

This story made me laugh and cry. There were lots of laughs and smiles but oh boy, how

This book, so. many. feels. I loved it! The cuteness of the plot is so perfect. David 4 years older than Grace saves her when she is little and stuck in a house fire. They never see each other until 18 years later, and they are drawn to each other. Although that may seem far fetched it wasn't it was natural and they fit perfectly. David is over the top sweet, caring, and a hot dirty talking fireman. Grace is funny, clumsy, driven, and so sweet and caring. Their dynamic is real, their story has d ...more

Omg, I have not cried so much in my life. When I started this book this afternoon, I couldn't put this book down, I didn't even want to cook dinner. This is the first time I have ever read Melissa Collins book and I must say that I was over whelmed by how emotional this book was. FROM THE WRECKAGE was one of those books that presented the "perfect" couple and then gave them a horrible situation to overcome. Given how "perfect" they had been before the situation, I wasn't certain what was going to happen now that they faced this huge obstacle. It may have come at the last 1/4 of the book, but what came out of that was proof that love can overcome some pretty horrible odds. David and Gracie proved that and it made this an incredibly heartwarming story to read. ...more
