All those people who live fantasy lives up there on the not-so-silver porno screen, what might they be like at home, away from the tacky lighting and cheap interiors of their workaday world? What might they fantasize about? What might they really, really want? One wants to be discovered as a serious actress - well, they all more or less want that; one, a star of gay porno, is actually heterosexual and wants to be recognized as such; another wants a child. At Georgia Lloyd Bernhart's birthday party, which wish, if any, will come true?
an okay book! really fun and good read, but not great for a lot of depth. we dont learn much about the characters. Georgia's 35th birthday party. she's very caring but to others can seem too mothering. she invites other porn stars to her birthday who seem to all be friends. georgia 35 - caring, but mothering. spiritual. done with porn. pregnant. had 5 divorces and multiple miscarriages. barry - probably same age. a little feisty. dating someone currently. has some hard time in past having sex off screen but not anymore. norma jean - LOVES sex. very alive and very nice, but annoyingly nice. says "love" wayyy too much. has a playwright she's currently seeing that told them all they'd be in a play. he ends up not following through and norma jean is not sympathetic when the others are disappointed. montgomery - chill dude tbh. wants to fuck uta. uta - hates sex. prides herself that she's a good faker everyone else prides her on it too. she is clearly depressed and going through stuff.

georgia monologue 53 --- comedic/dramatic --- having her baby will help her stop using drugs/alc. baby is real unlike a lot of things. claims none of them know anything about real. says to them how are they gonna accept being older. tells story of being in a hair salon where the women are talking about porn stars and how its gross and confusing. she then talks about how most porn stars end up dead or crazy.
georgia 60 --- dramatic/comedy --- shames norma jean after she gets their hopes up about the playwright and then completley crushes that dream. she also leaves georgia birthday which upsets georgia. georgeia shames her for mindlessly using the word love all night. claims none of them know anything about love. everything comes from their appearance not from their souls.
