We can't sit under Mises at his famous Vienna private seminar. We can't go back in time and attend his New York seminar, or follow him to his speaking engagements that he held in the 50s and 60s. But thanks to this second volume in a thrilling series (here is volume one), we do have access to what he said. He is warm, funny, passionate, and learned. This book provides a ca ...more

This book is a written account of various lectures Mises has given in critique to the Communist Manifesto. It's a dense read that required me to reread to fully grasp the ideas he was presenting.

This is a great critique of Marxism. It is the first critique that I have read that had any grasp of Marxism, and so could speak to it without unfounded judgments(I am sure that many would dispute this point). This is an economics lovers must read.

This is a collection of 9 lectures by Mises. There is some very interesting history about Marx, marxism, socialism, and capitalism.

É sempre incrível ler algo desse grande intelectual. O livro desmascara as várias contradições do sistema de pensamento criado por Karl Marx e Engels. Além disso, fala um pouco sobre juros, imposto, investimento externo, ciclo econômico, poupança, etc.

Recommends it for: Experienced econ/political theory readers
Not an intro text. If you want to know the strict Austrian/Misesian criticism of Marxism, here it is.
