Starting the year off with the intention of increasing your giving is a noble resolution to home in on. If you don’t know where to start in your giving journey, Successful Philanthropy: How to Make a Life By What You Give is a decent place to start. An extremely quick read, Successful Philanthropy provides a broad look at philanthropy as a whole from adding donations and volunteering into your giving efforts to knowing what to expect when you join a nonprofit board.

I received a free copy of this book through Goodreads First Reads in exchange for a fair review.
The book stars with the definition of philanthropy, briefly covers the reasons for giving, building a life around giving, choosing a charity, how to treat volunteers, employees, and donors, and talks about the communities built on giving: models for social philanthropy. Although it is well-written and has a lot of information about fundraising and how to find and treat donors, this is a brief handbook

Love philanthropy- giving to help others as Jesus taught us to- to move the next generation forward by investing in them-it's incredible! "True enjoyment and peace lies in a detachment from wealth and ownership." Giving is a basic human virtue at the depth of one's humanity.
