A romantic cozy mystery set in a land crawling with alligators!

Rick raised his brow. “Who were you talking to?”
“Is she that tall woman you met the other day?”
Amelia nodded. “She’s our new client.”
“New client?” Rick’s brow rose with disbelief as he sat up straight. “You’re working on our honeymoon? No way! Don’t tell me you were promoting our business.”
“Hey! It’s not my fault,” defended Amelia. “She just walked up to me and asked for help. I couldn’t refuse her. She needs us.”

Mystery on the Bayou by Linda Weaver Clarke sees the couple on their honeymoon and may get into a mystery.

Can Amelia find Millie's son that she gave up for adoption?
Amelia and Rick Bonito are now married and on their honeymoon in Florida. I am happy that these two got their happy ending even if that means sadly, my reading of these adventures is coming to a close. Amelia is still the spunky detective that we all know and love while Rick compliments her by using his charm. These two detectives ar

4.5 Star Review Mystery On The Bayou (Amelia Moore Detective Series #6) by Linda Weaver Clarke

This one was more emotional to me as Amelia Moore and her partner Rick Bonito, take on a case to help Millie, a woman who gave her son up for adoption 16 years ago.
Whilst honeymooning in Florida, Amelia is approached by Millie to help her gain access to the adoptive records of her son. This is book six and another cozy mystery in the Amelia Moore Detective Series. Mystery on the Bayou drew

It has been great following the antics of both Amelia and Rick from book one till this book. Every mystery has been great fun and we always seem to get to travel around with them. It has also been great listening to the two characters grow closer and closer in their relationship so I was real excited for them to finally get married.

I also really enjoyed the mystery and how it was solved, even though I pretty much guess who the bad guy was it was still a lot of fun. This author always has really

What a captivating tale! Once again Clarke has combined romance with mystery in such a manner that she left me completely enchanted. The plot unfolded in a unique manner that kept me guessing. I also really enjoyed the sightseeing and food exploration that the main characters engaged in during their downtime. It really brought the locale to life for me.

This story also walks the perfect line between being part of a series and being a standalone. She provides just enough background information tha

This cozy is my favorite so far of the series! Located in New Orleans, we get a flavor of all the sights, smells and tastes only Louisiana can bring to us. Throw in a mystery for Amelia and Rick to solve and it's magic. Amelia is hired to find a 16 year old son that was put up for adoption at birth. The birth mother has a disease called Marfan's which is imperative for the child to know. Amelia and Rick set out to find the boy. The two hit many roadblocks, but as the great investigators they are ...more

This is the 6th sweet and romantic cozy mystery from the Amelia Moore Detective Agency series, which takes place after Amelia and Rick get married and are on their honeymoon (the previous books in the series show the development of their relationship). At times, the romance is a little "syrupy", but I enjoy this mystery series - I like the descriptions of food (Rick loves trying new food and food that is particular to the region that he is visiting, and he always tries to get Amelia to be advent ...more

httMystery on the Bayou is the sixth cozy mystery in the Amelia Moore Detective Series written by Linda Weaver Clarke. This story begins with Amelia and her partner Rick Bonito enjoying their honeymoon in Florida. One afternoon a woman approaches Amelia on the beach who would like to hire Amelia to find her 16 year old son that she gave up for adoption when he was a baby. Millie was recently diagnosed with a genetic disease and fears she passed it along to her son. Of course, they agree to find ...more
Rick and Amelia have just gotten married and are enjoying their honeymoon. Amelia met Millie on the beach one day and told her that she was a private investigator who specialized in missing persons. Millie was excited because she needed her help. She had given a son up for adoption 16 years ago and recently learned that she had a genetic disorder, Marfan's Syndrome, which could have been passed on to her son. It was a closed adoption so she wanted Amelia's help to let his family know and, if at ...more

So Rick and Amelia have finally tied the knot in this book. Readers may know that there has been a simmering romance between these two in the last few books in the Amelia Moore Detective Series. Mr. And Mrs. Rick Bonito are partners in a private detective agency specializing in missing persons.

In this episode, Amelia and Rick are looking for an adopted child who may have a serious genetic disorder. Since the court won't reveal the identity of the adoptive parents, Amelia and Rick face a challeng

There were so many reasons to like this story. I really felt connected to this one, even more so than the others. Maybe because I lived in the south for a while. I lived in Savannah GA for a couple years and loved it! So when Linda's writing talked about the hanging moss it took me back! I could really picture it and made me feel right at home. I also loved the parts about Cajun food! I love spicy food and like trying new things. I have tried snails (as mentioned in the book) I didn't hate them ...more

I just recently finished reading Mystery on the Bayou. I really enjoyed it. As a young girl reading was my beloved pastime that my friends and I continued to do together through our elementary school years. Mysteries were my favorite genre in those days, and I can see that my love for mysteries has not waned.

Linda writes a fun and interesting storyline. This is book 6 in the continuing series of the Amelia Moore Detective series. In book 6, we find Amelia and Rick, two happy newlyweds in a cozy

(4.5) Amelia and Rick are now married and are approached by a woman during their honeymoon, needing help to find her son, whom she gave up for adoption when he was a baby. He may have a potentially life-threatening genetic disease. They take the challenge to find this boy and are lead to the bayous of Louisiana, where a whole pile of mysteries are interwoven and await them.

I love the clean romance between Rick and Amelia. Even though they're married now, there's plenty of flirting and cuteness,

This was a heartwarming story as well as a mystery/romance. It was fun to catch Amelia and Rick on their honeymoon as they relax (briefly) before being pulled into yet another job.
They are asked to find a child given up for adoption. The mother has a rare disease and wants to make sure her son will be tested and treated if need be. Amelia and Rick are skillful and dogged throughout this story. They don't give up and are able to bring about a very satisfying conclusion.
This was especially touch

In an Oyster Shell - Clarke takes the series to a whole new level in this book. I highly recommend it.

The Pearls - You are probably tired of me saying it about this series but I love the romance. It's so classy and cute, makes me feel all cuddly inside. It definitely puts the cozy in Cozy Mystery.

One of the best things about Linda Weaver Clark's books is that in each new story the main characters not only become more complex but more like people you would like to know personally and could trust. Each Amelia Moore mystery takes place in a new locale which is well described. Every plot has completely different twists and surprises which add to the enjoyment. Mystery on the Bayou is another fun cozy mystery! I look forward to every new book Linda writes! ...more

“Rick looked at his watch and gave a nod. “Yup! We have enough time before our next appointment.”
“Enough time for what?” asked Amelia.
He grinned and began dancing around her and singing in jazz style: “Goin’ down the bayou! Goin’ down the bayou! Goin’ down the bayou! Doodle-ee doodle-ee-doo!”
When Rick saw her eyes brighten, he said, I checked out a few bayous at Cross Lake. We’re goin’ down the bayou, sweetie.”
Amelia asked with laughter in her voice, “Were you just singing a Disney tune? From the Princess and the Frog?”
“Yup! I have many talents.”
“Amelia was instantly distracted when she heard one of her favorite songs: What a Wonderful World made famous by Louis Armstrong. The woman singing did the song justice as she sang:
I see trees of gree, red roses, too.
I see them bloom, for me and you.
And I think to myself.
What a wonderful world!
Before she could blink an eye, Rick pulled her into his arms in a waltz position.
He gave her a wink and said flirtatiously, “May I have this dance, my love?”
As they danced to the rhythm of the music, Amelia said, “Don’t ever stop flirting with me, no matter how old we get.”
