JLC. has Penned his third novel about the on going problems at the Mexican border with drug runners and smugglers. The Captain from the Sheriffs department is called in again by the Rangers to assist two other Rangers taking fire. They load up on the helicopter and the Captain takes out four targets and five arrest are made of Muslim men. These arrest lead to a world of trouble. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

This was not a book I thought I would like, since it deals largely with the gun culture, and I don't care in the least for guns. Curtis' characters are well-drawn, and the plot is tight. The writing is good, sparse and to the point and, more important, the dialogue is human and believable. Sherriff John Cronin, the lead character, is somewhat resonant of Larry McMurtry's Texas Ranger, Augustus McCrae, and whether this resemblance was intentional or not, it works. A very good example of the genre...

When smuggling of Muslims happens at the Texas/Mexican border, Sheriff John Cronin isn’t afraid to step in and put a stop to it. A modern day tale of drug cartels trying to smuggle Middle Eastern Muslims into America. Intriguing.
