JLC. has penned the second novel in the Grey Man Series , who I begins with a Cartel attack on the main ranch due to leaks by the AG's Office, specifically Mr . Dean. The release of the names f those who lived in the ranch caused them to be immediate targets for Cartel reprisals. After the assault the Grey Man and a team track the Cartel people back to their headquarters. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

A great read

This second book was just as good as the first book. Hope the author continues the series. Enjoyable as Bill Crider, C J Box, or Lee Childs.

An exciting page-turner with great characters

I didn't realize this was something like maybe the 4th book I the series until I was a few chapters in, and by then I was hooked hard. The tension is near-constant until just past the half-way point when it evens out. The end is satisfying, and I appreciated the leisurely wrap-up that gave me some lovely character moments. I imagine readers who've been following these characters through several books got even more of a "this is Just Right" sense of completion.

The closest likely-to-be-familiar comparison that has the same feel is early Tom Clancy, if he were better at doing characters you want to follow.

I enjoyed reading the book and the characters were very likable "deplorables". I especially liked the account of the federal raid and how it was handled by the old man and his household. He demanded they obey the Constitution and had the county sheriff who is the highest Constitutional officer in a county. He made sure the Feds knew they had to have his permission and lawful authority to be in his county! One other thing, all these folks sure drank a whole lot of coffee!

It's a 3.5, I feel it as strange, this type of stories is a bit outside my usual scope, I feel them more like a modern western which goes more to my likes in film/TV, with a lot of points of view and opinions that clash with mine, but even when they clash, I keep reading and entertained, so even if sometimes the book put me down, I'm going to continue reading the series.

Wow! I like the sheriff. I like his granddaughter she definitely has spunk. Lots of action when a Mexican drug cartel sends payback to a Texas Deputy Sheriff who arrested their smugglers.

I suggest you read this series in order because the back story comes from the previous book.:

Great second book

I enjoyed reading this book, I am retired military and it brought back a lot of memories for me. I enjoyed the references and the dialogue.
