While often dry and dense, I found Miller's book helpful throughout. In almost every chapter I gained some new insight into the nature of prayer.
Prayer is primarily petition, as per the title. However, prayer cannot be reduced to petition, but is much more rich and nuanced than that. We, and the OT saints, are praying to a living God.
