Mary Pope Osborne is an American author of children's books and audiobook narrator. She is best known as the author of the Magic Tree House series, which as of 2017 sold more than 134 million copies worldwide. Both the series and Osborne have won awards, including for Osborne's charitable efforts at promoting children's literacy. One of four children, Osborne moved around in her childhood before attending the University of North Carolina. Following college, Osborne traveled before moving to New York City. She somewhat spontaneously began to write, and her first book was published in 1982. She went on to write a variety of other children's and young adult books before starting the Magic Tree House series in 1992. Osborne's sister Natalie Pope Boyce has written several compendium books to the Magic Tree House series, sometimes with Osborne's husband Will Osborne.
Jack and Annie continue to get sent into situations that are extremely dangerous, which lends the reader to question the real motives of Morgan. These four books had the kids looking for items to help break the curse placed on a dog. And let me just say, the reveal was a major let down.
Finally, a book series that my 8 year old likes! Hes finally made the transition to chapter books, and I am so glad. These Magic Treehouse stories are quite entertaining and educational. He's learning history, geography, and about nature. Happy kid=Happy mom.
My boys liked this group of 4 books. The Titanic was a good story where they helped save a family. My kids liked learning about the midwest indians and the buffalo herds, but being saved by White Buffalo woman was a little too hippie for me. The India story about saving a tiger from poachers was good. The last story about Australia also had some hippie Aboriginal beliefs. I struggle with these plot lines. Obviously the whole book is magical and there is some educational value in learning about other cultural beliefs, but it just is too hippie for me sometimes.
My kids liked the plot line that these 4 books formed in saving the Camelot boy Teddy who has turned himself into a dog by collecting 4 gifts.

I loved these books as a kid and I decided I wanted to read them once again and see how they hold up. Jack & Annie go on more adventures throughout time and history. As they do so they learn new things and help others as Master Librarians. There were also several quotes that I added to my favorites list. I was surprised at how entertaining & enjoyable these books are. The Magic Tree House books are quick structured reads that are simple, enjoyable, and educational- perfect for young readers.
I remembered as an little girl this was series was one of the first chapter books of many soon to come. That would be come my absolute favorites. I've always had an fantastion of the Titanic and what happened on board. So I remember this was one of the first ones I've read. Of course I'm 24 now, and still love going to the library and seeing these on the shelves, I had to give it a re read!! I will continue to read Magic Treehouse ❤️🤗

Loved them as always. The adventure that Jack and Annie have are always exciting. Even though these books would be read by mostly elementary kids, I still love reading them and I think there are other adults who would agree with me after taking the time to read them too.
