5+++ “Madness Most Discreet” STARS
This entire series is one big power play and I love it! The third book in this series is Theo DeLuca and Evelina Conti’s story. While all is quiet and it appears as though things are settling down within the Chicago Outfit, it’s really the calm before the storm. The war is not over and the power struggle for the big boss man’s seat is still very much in play as jealousy, greed and violence continues to breed and fester among the ranks.
If I had to sum this book up, I could easily do it in one word – THEO! I never thought I’d say this but Theo DeLuca has given Dante Marcello a run for his money, IMHO.
This man was all Alpha, the stark truth, vulnerable in a real subtle way and sex-on-a-fuckin’-stick.

Everything about Theo had me weak in my knees and clamouring for more!!!

This tale was layer upon layer of scheming. I just love how it was like peeling an onion. Bethany slowly reveals the plots and plans of the numerous players in the Chicago Outfit and sometimes it caused a bite, a sting and a few tears.

Evelina Conti is the daughter of the current boss and as far as impressions go, she's every bit the Italian principessa. Always the good girl although she’s hating every minute of it. On her 18th birthday she catches Theo’s eye and then these two circle around each other in one way or another.
“Evelina was a beautiful young woman. Theo would need to be stupid, blind and an idiot not to see it. She was also ten shades of trouble…”
Both Evelina and Theo are pawns in other people’s games and yet people under estimate them. They see much more than most give them credit for. As these two get to know each other better, the mafia war picks up and violence, secrets and lies envelope them.
Eve and Theo together were off the charts HOT. Every encounter between Eve and Theo was explosive. I desperately wanted to be Eve; she's one damn lucky girl!
“This man was such a mind fuck. One minute, he seemed like he didn’t give a damn if she was alive or dead. The next, he was doing a complete one-eighty.”
"Sin,” he rumbled, holding her tight to his cock. Like this, with him, she tasted entirely of filth and lust. “You taste like sin.”
"Tell me to stop."
Evelina shook her head. Theo's fingers on her cheek and neck pressed a little harder. It was lovely and wicked. She wanted more. More of his roughness, more of his touch.
"Tell me to stop."
"Do you fuck like this, too?" she asked instead.
Theo's gaze darkened. "Eve."
"Do you?"
"Yes."
"Wonderful. Don't stop."
And as the danger picks up, Theo and Eve realize they are so much more to each other than a fiercely insane sexual attraction, or the guy that uses the girl and the girl that lets him so she can get what she wants.

My freakin’ favourite quote and the only reason you need as to why I just LOVED Theo:
“Have you ever begged for it, Eve? Ever found a man that made you so fucking wet, got your blood hot and your muscles aching without even touching you that you just wanted to beg him to fuck you? Has a man ever put you on your knees and made you ask for it? Have you found a man that made you want to get on your knees and ask for it? Tell me you’ve had the pleasure of looking up at a man and asking for him, Eve, begging to suck his cock or to be fucked good and hard because you wanted him that badly. Tell me.”
In my opinion, this was the best book yet in this series! I’m more and more invested in this Chicago family and was over the moon to have the Marcellos get a cameo in this one! I highly recommend this series. You must read books 1 and 2 first to understand all that’s going on. Can’t wait for Tommas and Abriella’s book. In true Bethany fashion, she left cryptic crumbs as to the depths and complexity of their relationship and now I'm seriously intrigued.

My 1st 5 star for 2016. Yay!
No one in this life walked around scarless.
I'm so glad to be back with the Outfit, although they seems to be the most messy bunch of mafia with non-stop political agenda, back-stabbing, and whatnot. It also seems like in all 4 books of The Chicago War series the heroes and heroines are all within the Outfit families. From the sound of it, it might be a recipe for repetitiveness because most of them have the same dilemma, but Bethany-Kris manage to make each story unique in itself.
Theo DeLuca who endured a tough upbringing and now having a hard time overcoming the anger and guilt for the death of his brother. Only after his family is in tattered that he realized how precious they are to him. Now he is only left with his sister, Lily DeLuca and his brother-in-law, Damian Rossi.
Evelina Conti had always been the mafia principessa who followed the rules, no matter how much she hates her father. Theo had always been in the fore front of her mind since she was 18, with the way he taunt and tease her princess attitude. However, they never take things any further because Eve know nothing will come out of it. Until, the day she found out that her father is gonna marry her off the their Outfit's front boss.
The romance is not a big part of the story, in fact I don't think they talked to each other much for the first quarter of the book, but is still a really solid one that built from a strong foundation and understanding between these two individuals. Theo spent much more time being in the midst of trouble and danger, while trying to stay ahead of whoever who wanted to off him. Eve is person who gave him much strength and hopefulness when situation seems bleak and impossible. Theo had always thought that being in a relationship means having responsibilities that he might not able to commit, but Eve taught him that you can just be who you are, scars and all.
Damian Rossi from Deathless & Divided is still my favorite hero, with his constant brooding and quiet self. A man who couldn't care less about the politics, but still loyal to his family. I'm glad that every subsequent books still featured him heavily.
Reckless & Ruined got my favorite love story. Adriano and Alessa is the classic Romeo and Juliet and their love for each other is so pure and untainted.
However, if I were to rate my favorite book for this series to date, I would say Scarless & Sacred! Not only that the romance works for me, I love reading the dance they both having around each other before they are together, I was also sucked into the whole Outfit politics, from the bad guys, Riley and Joel, to the good guys, Tommas and Damian. I also get so much from Theo's POV, his childhood, his adult life, him missing his brother and struggling to make things right for his family once and for all. My heart just hurts for him.
The next book will be the last of Chicago Wars, but I'm not ready for their story to end. Although with so much death, I'm suppose we need a closure for them.

4,25 STARS!!!
In this life, family is the most important thing, which I think you already know. But what you might not realize is that the family are also the people who make up the life you choose. Running from those people when they have no one will stand for them means you are leaving them behind, and with it goes any honor you left.
Theo DeLuca is wanted dead. I am not kidding. He barely survive this time.
Let's start from beginning. After reading Deathless & Divided Iaccidentally on purpose skipped Adriano's book and jumped on Theo. Adriano made only few appearance in the Deathless & Divided and I was't sure who he was, too much new characters and I needed some time to sort out who is who. After Dino DeLuca, Theo's brother, died in car explosion (still crying over that :'( )
Theo has become a target, since Dino has done some naughty things in his past (I am not giving you spoilers sorry) included death of Riley Conti's wife, who is boss now.
Riley's daughter Evelina has aways been attracted to Theo for years. After her father married some crazy bi**h, Eve is devastated. Theo is not the only one with the target on his back. Strange things starts to happen to Eve too. From almost being shot to her car being set on fire.
Eve and Theo's relationship is forbidden. But they can't stay apart. What will happen when her father and everybody else find out?
Please continue. I don't mind people knowing that you're happy right where you are...with me.
Theo is fighting his own demons. He was a victim of abuse.
Also, Marcellos are back! Theo is BFF with Giovanni.
Overall, forbidden romance, secrets, action, arrange marriage, mobsters, hot scenes, bad boys. What is not to like?

Wow that man was just SO SEXY!!!! The things I would let that man do!

So S&S is about Evelina Conti and Theo DeLuca’s story.What an amazing couple they were together.
Really liked that we got to read how their relationship developed and why Theo was the way he was. Especially liked that we got to learn more about his relationship with Dino, I was sad for Dino in book one and now after learning more about him, I wish things could be different :(
Like in the previous book this was so much more than a love story, it was full action packed with lots of twists and turns that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Loved every page :)

Re-readathon of this series January 2019 and it's utter perfection.

Brilliant! Just brilliant and such a close second to Adriano and Alessa's book which was beyond fantastic. I keep on gushing about BK's characters and again she excelled with Theo and Eve. I love that she gives each character their perfect partner, warts and all.

That’s right just slide another bullet into the chamber. Do you feel it, the cool metal heating in the palm of your hand? Can you hear the metallic sound as the round goes in? No that’s not your imagination playing tricks on you, that’s the incredible talents of Bethany-Kris bringing this five star mafia read to life.
Some would say Theo Deluca is broken, despite his past he’s not. He’ll use every jagged edge to carve out a spot proving he’s the cure. Others will say he makes the perfect patsy, how his name doesn’t amount to shit and can be sacrificed as a pawn. But that’s the funny thing about underestimated pawns even they have a knack for placing a king in checkmate.
Someone—more than one—had stepped into the holy grounds of his family and spilled their blood without a care.
They’d killed his brother. A long time ago, they’d taken his mother and father, too. Family did that. The Outfit had always been family to the DeLucas, after all. It ached in his soul, but it burned in his heart even worse.
Tiaras and halos, as principessa to the outfit Evelina Conti knows her place. Follow the rules, be respectful, speak in a soft spoken manner. Above all, never do or say anything that would bring shame or disgrace to the family or there’s hell to pay. But sometimes those crowns are too tight made of thorns instead of metal.
Evelina bit the inside of her cheek before whispering, “My mother has only been dead a few months and he’s already marrying someone new, Lily. He didn’t give a damn at all. My father doesn’t care about anyone but himself. But this is how it goes, right? This is the way the Outfit works and we just follow the rules.”
As the Chicago war intensifies between the capos and underbosses the succession to the throne has been left wide open for the taking. Riley has no problem stepping up and claiming it. If there’s bloodshed in the process then so be it, bodies will fall, blood will be spilled during the climb. The Outfit will come to heel as he gives new meaning to the word family. Its his way and if you're dumb enough to try and cross him, you’ll end up like the other men whose come before.

5 “Worth the Risk” Stars
The Chicago Wars escalates........and Theo DeLuca is front and center and seems to be an easy scapegoat for the war. But Theo has no intention of letting that happen. He is full of rage and guilt over his brother and is a loose cannon. The Outfit is still volatile and unstable and no one is entirely safe, especially Theo.
Evelina Conti is the principessa of the Conti family. She’s respectful, does what is told to do, she doesn’t cause problems and she knows that her life within the Outfit will be arranged like her best friend, Lily DeLuca Rossi. Except Lily ended up in love with Damian Rossi. Eve has no delusions that her fate will go the same way.
Theo DeLuca noticed Eve a few years back. But it didn’t really work out. But now, there is something about these two that draws them to one another. I love Theo and Eve. This story digs deep and is filled with passion and emotions. I think they are my favorite so far in The Chicago War series. I do believe that this story was grettier and more breathtaking at times. I held my breath, I cried, and I was always had a level of anxiety while I read. This series is very addicting. Bethany Kris is a master with her mafia stories and The Chicago Outfit hits all my bells and whistles.
Looking forward to the last book about Abriella and Tommas but I’m also sad to know that the series will be over.
The Chicago Wars escalates........and Theo DeLuca is front and center and seems to be an easy scapegoat for the war. But Theo has no intention of letting that happen. He is full of rage and guilt over his brother and is a loose cannon. The Outfit is still volatile and unstable and no one is entirely safe, especially Theo.
Evelina Conti is the principessa of the Conti family. ok, well definitely close to it...politics beyond measure of comprehention, hidden agendas, secret plots in murder...and an unlikely love affair that will blow your body, mind and soul.
Theo Deluca and Evelina Conti, unconventional players started out as supposed pawns and the means of sacrifice in the brutal mafia war, but the changes would set their own course as the insinuated "pawns" learn the rules fast and turn them into their own favour...
This book should be read after books 1 and 2 as follows:

So, why was I scared?
I didn't like heroine or hero in first two books.And I thought, that they will make this book terrible. But, God, how big fool am I?? It is Bethany-Kris!!! One of my favourite authors. She wrote Russian Guns and Filthy Marcellos. With great series like that, why would this one be different??
Never again I will doubt you,Bethany. Never again.
But, back on the story.
Like I said, I didn't liked characters before. Eve looked like a child, who thinks that her problems are the biggest ones. Like she is the most tragic person in the world and, of course, tha she knows best.
And Theo?? He looked like completely fool.
But, this book proven that it wasn't true. Everyone has a mask. It is just hard to see through theirs.But, when masks fall,and you could see everything hidden,it was just

All second characters very amazing, with all politicians games, fears and wishes for money and positions. It was like normal humans. This ones, were, just, in mafia.
It was so exciting to read. To find out new clue about what was going to happen, and what already did. So much hidden secrets, and so many, many victims.

She didn't even care.''
I loved characters development and how Eve and Theo learns what is it important. What things should person fight for.

Also, I couldn't believe what Tommas did?? How could you?? Abriella already suffered enough!! But, their books is next, so I finally can find out more about them. And that last scenes where is Tommas?? It just say that so many shit is going to happen.

Also, I liked Giovanni and others Marcellos. It was nice to see them again, even for a short time.
On the end, I must say that I wanted more romance. More talk and other activities between Theo and Eve. This way I didn't really seen that connection between them.
But still, really great book, who almost got 4.5 stars.

God, i love this series very much!!!! Every book is better than the previous!!!
And even though that i loved very much the first couple and i liked the second one too, i think that this one was my most favorite... Or not??? Bahahaha... I just can't decide!!!
I love them all and i hate all those bad men that they are making their lives a living hell!!!

As you can understand, the war in the Chicago Outfit is holding well...
Even though they are having a new Boss, the freud between the families is really big... nobody can trust anyone and the power games don't stop at all... and they are deathly for most of them!!!
Theo and Evelina had been caught on this war too and when their paths are colliding the things are starting to get very dangerous...
"This was not the time. It was never going to be the time. They would be a bad thing."
Well, Evelina Conti is always respectful of her father's choices, even though that he is a sneaky bastard who will use her as he pleases in his dangerous games... even though that he now is the Outfit Boss, nothing has changed... We could say that he is even more paranoid than before and since Adriano disobeyed him, his only hope is Evelina.
Evelina has to had her mask on place all of the time... She was the principessa, good and proper all of the time, but Theo DeLuca is the one who would make her want to be free...
"She didn't know why, but Theo always irked her in that way. He made her want to push back. There wasn't a lot of people who could get under her skin like Theo had. It was too bad that she never got the chance to explore it."

Now, he is in the middle of a war that he never wanted to take side and lately, there is a target on his back... Someone is using him as a collateral damage and it seems that every time that he is coming closer to Evelina Conti something bad is bound to happen...

The woman had it in her!!!! She was a wildcat down of all those appearances... And i loved it!!!

I loved all this flirting between them and how the things got in their place...

Like he was the goddamn addict and someone had just handed him the needle, he needed more of this woman."

Scarless & Sacred es el tercer libro de la saga The Chicago War y narra la historia de Eve ( hermana de Adriano ) y Theo ( hermano de Lily ).
Esta tercera parte me atrapo de la misma forma que lo hicieron las dos novelas anteriores, quizas la relacion entre la pareja protagonista no me enamoro tanto como la de la pareja anterior, pero aun asi fue una lectura que supero con creces mis elevadas expectativas y que me dejo muy muy satisfecha, ademas de con ganas de mas.
En Scarless & Sacred continua la guerra entre las familias del Outfit en Chicago, la cual sigue estando llena de traiciones, engaños, mentiras y manipulaciones, tanto es asi que llega un momento en la lectura que ya no eres capaz de confiar en ningun personaje, ya que hasta el que parece mas inocente tiene un plan oculto para llegar a la cima o para apuñalar a otro personaje por la espalda, y precisamente ese es uno de los puntos mas destacables de estos libros, lo impredecible que pueden llegar a ser los personajes.
La historia de Theo y Eve es simplemente impresionante, no tiene ni un solo capitulo en el que no pase algo asombroso, ya sea que se revelen nuevas alianzas o que se desvele algun secreto que cambia por completo lo que pensabas que era seguro, ademas la pluma de la autora es tan intensa y unica que es imposible no adentrarte en este oscuro mundo mientras pasas las paginas.
Esta novela se centra un poco mas en el enfrentamiento entre las familias y no tanto en la parte sentimental y aunque me hubiera gustado leer mas escenas romanticas entre los protagonistas, hay tanta accion, secretos y sorpresas que no extrañe demasiado el que Eve y Theo no tuvieran mas partes juntos.
Me muero de ganas de tener entre mis manos el cuarto libro, no tanto por saber de Tommas y Abriella sino para descubrir que mas pasara antes de que alguien alcance el tan ansiado trono de Chicago.
En fin, una lectura apasionante, intrigante y adictiva que no puedes dejar de leer, ademas de tener unos protagonistas muy opuestos que se complementan de una manera magistral.
Muy muy recomendado, no sabes lo que es verdaderamente una historia de mafia hasta que lees esta serie y conoces a estas familias con planes ocultos.

4 Harsh, hot, and a little bit of pain. STARS
Wow, esto si que es mafia.
Tengo sentimientos encontrados por este libro. Por un lado me encanta toda la intriga, manipulacion y secretos que se manejan en esta guerra de poder.
Pero por otro lado creo que la autora se enfoco mas en la guerra que en la historia de amor. Los 2 libros anteriores tuvieron un balance entre la guerra y el romance, pero aqui la historia de amor quedo en segundo plano, es mas casi no hay amor, la relacion entre los protagonistas esta basada en su atraccion sexual. No que me queje pero fue mas sexo que una conexion real.
Si este libro es el mas Hot de los 3.
Tambien es el que mas he disfrutado, porque aqui ya no pase por la confusion de tratar de recordar que familia hizo que y quien traiciono a quien.
Esta serie esta llena de personajes y cada uno con muchas particularidades, pero para este punto ya tengo bien ubicados a todos. Ya se quien son los bueno, los malos y los peores. Bueno los relativamente Buenos, porque hay que recordar que todos son mafiosos.
Me rompio el corazon el pasado de Theo, tambien sufri mucho por Dino. Aun no supero lo que le paso en el libro pasado y saber lo que ellos 2 vivieron de ninos fue demasiado triste.
Eve no me agrado, no me desagrado pero tampoco aporto mucho.
Al igual que los otros libros, vimos muchas muertes.
Muertes dramaticas como la de que la verdad me esperaba mas de ese personaje, me agrado mucho y esperaba que despues tuviera su propia historia.

P.S. Genial ver a los Marcellos, me hace pensar que si Theo tiene el apoyo de los Marcellos quiza el tambien podia ser un fuerte contrincante para el puesto de Boss. Personalmente me gustaria que el Boss sea Demian. Creo que el es el mas inteligente y capaz de controlarlos a todos.

Theo had this way about him. An alpha in every which way. He knew the moment he took a sip of sin, he'd be gone. He wouldn't be able to get enough. But he never deny himself.
The way he spoke, the way he touched Eve. From the previous book I would never have guessed him to be the way he is! He is the fucking alpha of all alphas! I couldn't have guessed the magnitude of things he'd went through growing up. My heart went out for that beautiful, scared soul. The subtle things he would do, his deflecting ways - Evelina truly got him, and he didn't shy away from her.
I enjoy the jealous ways from both of them.
The bottled up lust that was about to be uncorked.
He was intense. Had my damn heart racing, and Evelina wasn't free from his effects. I'm talking about years of denying each other - it was fucking worth it.
I was always counting on Theo and Evelina's story being good. But I didn't count on it being the best in the series. I had enough willpower in the previous book to stop reading it, to hold off until the next installment, but for this read? I couldn't believe how quickly I'd devoured it. It was one of those book where everything was literally ignored. When 1% kept buzzing in my ear on my phone, I propped myself in the corner, hooked it up to straight current and continued my read.

Riley Conti turned into the guy I hated. The slow simmer from love and appraisal was gone almost instantly. Close to the end? It was harsh on me.
I didn't see it coming. Everything in this series was cut throat. Not much worrying to the extent of this book. I didn't know what I'd do if the author took that away from me. The angst was wonderful. Sinful.
And the memories were rewarding. Dino's past was equally re-warding. Those "family"? Just when I thought they couldn't be anymore brutal and downright evil...they surprise me.
I had some pity for people like Ben, especially how the old late boss spoke about him. Hell even with all the shit Riley did I liked it, I liked him. But dipping into the past? Seeing just how much of a family they were? I really hate them.
It's like the DeLuca's suffered the most. In the end, even though it was worth it, they whoever got what was coming to them. The scares will forever be a reminder, both for good and bad. It made them who they are today, gave them the power to fight for what they wanted relentlessly.

Theo didn't care about that. He didn't even care that he was being accused for things he didn't do. All he cared about was bringing down the one who killed his brother. Those who had a hand in his brother's end. He was the lone wolf surrounded by mirthful beasts and he wasn't going to go out without a fight.
Attachments was something he avoided, the distractions he was good at dishing out, but being distracted wasn't worth it.

The way he spoke, the way he touched Eve. From the previous book I would never have guessed him to be the way he is! He is the fucking alpha of all alphas! I couldn't have guessed the magnitude of things he'd went through growing up. My heart went out for that beautiful, scared soul. The subtle things he would do, his deflecting ways - Evelina truly got him, and he didn't shy away from her.
I enjoy the jealous ways from both of them.
The bottled up lust that was about to be uncorked.
He was intense. Had my damn heart racing, and Evelina wasn't free from his effects. I'm talking about years of denying each other - it was fucking worth it.

I was always counting on Theo and Evelina's story being good. But I didn't count on it being the best in the series. I had enough willpower in the previous book to stop reading it, to hold off until the next installment, but for this read? I couldn't believe how quickly I'd devoured it. It was one of those book where everything was literally ignored. When 1% kept buzzing in my ear on my phone, I propped myself in the corner, hooked it up to straight current and continued my read.

5++++ STARS
This was amazing. This was... one of the best reads I've had in a while. This was so fucking good I cannot form words to describe how much I enjoyed every aspect of the story: the characters (even the complex ones), the action, the relationships, the romance. Everything. I bloody cried in some part and was really emotional in others. I wanted to crack someone's head open and I wanted to hug someone too. So many conflicting emotions.
So it's been decided that this books is one of my top reads by Ms. Bethany-Kris. (The Russian gun series is up there with it). Scarless & Sacred was my favourite book in this series. The suspense, thrill and action had me on the edge of my seat. I found my self rereading parts, going back to read certain things to make sense of other things because little clues were scattered everywhere about what was going on. It was amazing. It was such a vivid journey. Unexpected twists and turns really threw me off guard here and there and I was questioning a few people's loyalties that I thought I could trust. It was pretty messed up. The family is supposed to play an important part in The Outfit, show unity and Loyalty etc. but this war... is something else entirely. Bloodshed everywhere.
I love how this isn't just about the action, though. There was so much depth and thought to the story. Scarless & Scared explored a lot of relationships and their developments. I especially loved all the siblings and how they all looked out for each other no matter what. With the exception of that bastard, Joel. And also I have a new appreciation for Lily and Theo's relationship.
I loved Theo DeLuca. And it wasn't a usual way I love a character. I felt for him completely. His struggles, his internal battles, his wants, need, desires, fears. Everything. I love how he's supposed to be this mafia made men dude, so he can't show vulnerabilities or weaknesses. But that wasn't the case. He was cocky, and hard-headed sometimes. He could switch his emotions off just as a quickly as he can pull the trigger. Yes, he had a hard time showing emotions sometimes or growing close with anyone. He had trust issues which is very plausible. But Theo had so much depth to his character, I fell in love with him!
And Evelina Conti. I also adored her! Not once did this woman annoy me. There was something so... calm about her, so rational about her even when she thought she was making decision that were not wise. (I found them pretty good decisions since some of them included Theo Ha). She threw attitude right back at Theo when he crossed the line but she understood him, got to know him and didn't once ever force him to do anything. People always saw her as following the rules, living life constricted but she broke out from the role and I was so damn proud of her.
Theo and Eve's relationship developed so beautifully I just couldn't see either of them with anyone else. It didn't feel forced, or no insta love shit or insta Lust. Just good natured flirting here and there and then slowly growing closer. They had the love, the banter, the flirting, the hotness. It was magnificent.
And then you have the relationship that I LOVED SO MUCH! DAMIAN ROSSI AND THEO DELUCA'S RELATIONSHIP WAS ONE OF THE BEST ASPECTS OF THIS BOOK! I really Love Damian. Theo and Damian had a relationship that grew to be something strong. Loyal to a fault. And... I just love Damian Rossi.
The shit that went in in this book was crazy. We got a glimpse of the Marcello family from New York and the harmony and unity in their family really highlighted how absolutely fucked the Chicago Outfit was.
I seriously cannot wait for Tommas and Abriella's book. There are so many unresolved and new issues. And I also want to see what happens with those two. They went through a hell of a rough patch in this installment. I am so bloody excited!

Well I liked this one but my fav always will be Damian
This story is about Theo and Evelina and every story from Bethany is unique so is this.
I feel like there was too much going on at some point and I was lost but if you like mafia and hot alpha male try this!

Este es el tercer libro de la serie de The Chicago War tenemos como protagonistas a Theo DeLuca y Evelina Conti.
A como acabó el libro anterior vemos que Theo puede causar problemas al nuevo Don ya que hay enemistad en ellos por sucesos del pasado y por cosas que Theo lo culpa.
Entonces sí, acertamos tenemos otro forbidden love.
Este libro no es tan intenso como el anterior, la aparente paz está muy por encima todavía siguen jugando sus cartas y en mientras tanto dejan a Theo en medio otra vez de esta guerra por debajo de la mesa.
En cuanto al romance no hay tanto romance, es más frío todo el asunto, su relación se basa en sexo, no sentí ese amor como el de Adriano y Alessa .
Theo me gustó mucho y sentí mucha pena por lo que le pasó cuando era niño junto con Dino esos abusos que sufrieron en manos de su tío y me quedó esa sensación triste más por Dino.
Y es que Ben necesitaba pagar más.
En cuanto a Evelina no me desagradó pero tampoco fue wow más bien equis, y no me gustó como la pintaban como la princesa que no rompía las reglas que su papá la tenía muy vigilada, ellas siempre se portaba muy bien a ser toda una diosa del sexo toda deshinibida es que no concuerda todavía le queda más a Alessa y Abriella que eran más rebeldes y menos vigiladas.
Pero igual el libro me gustó mucho te tiene al borde de querer saber más y como va a terminar todo esto.
BTW.. Amé que saliera Giovanni Marcello que es mi favorito de los hermanos y también Anthony con su sabiduría el mejor mobster que pudo haber creado Bethany.

5+ super I was completely engrossed stars. 3rd book in a 4 book Mafia series. Each book features a different main couple.
"He [Theo] was so in love with this woman [Eve]. Because she didn’t give a damn about his monsters, and she wasn’t out to chase them away. She didn’t think he was broken. She didn’t fix him like someone else might try to."
My love for this book is for more than just the romance between the MC. (My favorite couple is still Adriano and Alessa from the 2nd book.) I really liked Theo & Eve and felt their connection but I would of liked more conversations between them during a certain time. BK knows how to write the heat and she did it so well in this story. There are some wonderful interactions between the MC where u know their love is real.
The drama and action between all the characters is what made this story fantastic for me (Theo & Eve were a close second). I wanted to reach my hand in the grave and re kill some of the bastards that have died in previous books b/c you learn more of the hell they brought to others. I wish Dino (Theo's brother) got his HEA (though Eve might not see it that way). My heart breaks for him and Theo.
Theo sigh I so loved him. He survived HELL as a child and grew up to be a yummy alpha male. You learn his reasons for his past actions were not as you thought. And he does not play when he learns the truth.
I liked Eve a lot. She knew her mind and had strength but was not a bitch or TSTL. She and Theo were a good match.

You were mine when I told you to get on your knees, and you didn’t even hesitate to do it. You were mine when you didn’t ask me for a thing. Do not read this book if you haven't read the other 2 books. You will be lost if you do. Book is told in 3rd person pov from H/h only. No cheating or ow/om.

I’m absolutely loving this series. It’s well written and completely addictive.
Theo is a complex character. The abuse he suffered as a child still haunts him. He doesn’t do relationships and he certainly doesn’t chase after women but... there’s something about Evelina. Theo is drawn to her without fully understanding why.
Evelina is the perfect mafia princess. Her father is now king and she plays her part so well but... she’s drawn to Theo.
Along with the romance is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

He's just that guy. She's just that girl. And they were simply meant to be.
Theo and Evelina were a compelling pairing despite the fact that they didn’t have that much time together before everything went to hell. I also enjoy that their ending is different from the others. Neither of them is compelled to bring children into the dangerous life they lead and I, for one, agree. Their happily ever after was perfect for them. They have each other ❤️

I’ve been following this series since the first book came out. Ever since, I get excited waiting for the release of another one.
What got me drawn to this series in the first place was the beautiful cover. You know the saying right? Never judge a book by its cover well, this series is as good as the cover itself.
With every book it got better and better and whenever I see that ‘coming soon’ page, I start counting down.
Scarless and Sacred is the Third book in The Chicago War series. This story is about Eve and Theo.
I can honestly say (after reading all the books so far) this one is my favorite. The other books started the story and the characters but this one just sucked me in on all the action! I never knew a book could contain so much twist and turns filled with pain, love, trust, action and so much more.
Throughout the book I had to stop and read a chapter again because I was blown away. I remember not wanting to put this one down because I was curious what was next. Whenever I thought I figured something out, it came from a different field and got me all blown away.
Eve and Theo’s love story is something else on its own. I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story. They didn’t expect things from one another but gave it freely. They both had things they are fighting, but when they are together everything seems to vanish in thin air.

Me encantó. Amo que cada libro que leo de la autora le vaya poniendo más mafia. Violencia, sangre, traición, dolor...
Evelina Conti es una princesa de la mafia. Como hija del Jefe, es intocable, y él la está reservando para casarla con alguien que lo beneficie. Así de triste como suena.
Ella se mantiene usando su máscara de niña buena y de alguien que sigue las reglas, pero está harta de ella. Quiere ser libre. Quiere dejar de fingir alguien que no es.
Theo DeLuca está buscando venganza por lo que le han hecho a su hermano, pero en el camino se encuentra con que ahora es a él a quien quieren matar. Tratando de descubrir quién ha puesto un blanco en su espalda, se encuentra con Evelina, a quien invitó a salir una vez y ésta lo dejó plantado.
Theo hace que Eve se sienta más como ella misma y de ninguna manera la deja usar su máscara cuando él está cerca.

En éste libro hay una revelación sobre Dino que me dejó en shock. Leía un par de páginas y tenía que detenerme porque no podía creer ese secreto de D. Aunque tristemente, ese secreto deshizo mi teoría de que el mayor de los hermanos DeLuca podría estar vivo. Sin embargo, me alegro que Lily y Theo se hayan vuelto más cercanos.
Las escenas del pasado de él me rompieron el corazón. No puedo creer todo lo que pasó. Encima ver cuál fue el motivo por el que Theo y Dino se distanciaron me hizo llorar por sus versiones de niños que tanto se amaban y que no pudieron salvarse. Los quiero abrazar fuerte.
Evelina Conti es una princesa de la mafia. Como hija del Jefe, es intocable, y él la está reservando para casarla con alguien que lo beneficie. Así de triste como suena.
Ella se mantiene usando su máscara de niña buena y de alguien que sigue las reglas, pero está harta de ella. Quiere ser libre. Quiere dejar de fingir alguien que no es.
Theo DeLuca está buscando venganza por lo que le han hecho a su hermano, pero en el camino se encuentra con que ahora es a él a quien quieren matar. Tratando de descubrir quién ha puesto un blanco en su espalda, se encuentra con Evelina, a quien invitó a salir una vez y ésta lo dejó plantado.
Theo hace que Eve se sienta más como ella misma y de ninguna manera la deja usar su máscara cuando él está cerca.

This story was longer than the previous ones, it didn't bore me but there are scenes that could be unnecessary.
I think the book before this one had more action and I liked that in the previous one. I really liked the story between Theo and Evelina how it developed.
This book made me cry for all the abuse that Theo and Dino suffered, they deserve the best and although I get angry about Theo's problems with Dino I still like Theo.
Dino Dino Dino, I really hate the ending of Dino, it's like WHY?!?! AAAH. At the end of the first book I was like amm NO, That did not just happen! uugghh.
The Marcellos cameo ahhh I live for that !! I love them💜
The war, I just want it to end, there are many people dying, although one does deserve it (Hi Joel?!?!)
Damian is still my favorite character😍

Esta historia fue más larga que las anteriores, no me aburrió pero hay escenas podrían ser innecesarias. Creo que el libro antes de este tuvo mas acción y eso me gustó en el anterior.
La historia entre Theo y Evelina me gustó como esta desarrollada.
Este libro me hizo llorar por todas los abusos que sufrieron Theo y Dino, ellos se merece lo mejor y aunque me enoje por los problemas que tenia Theo con Dino, igual me gusta Theo se ganó mi corazón ❤
Dino Dino Dino, en serio odio el final de Dino, es como PORQUE?!?! AAAH. En el final del primer libro yo estaba como amm NO, Eso no acaba de pasar!!! uugghh
El cameo de los Marcellos ahhh vivo por eso!! los amo 💜
La guerra, solo quiero que acabe, hay mucha gente muriendo aunque uno si se lo merece (tos tos Joel)

Ever since I reached that paragraph in chapter five, a question continued to haunt me for the rest of the book.
Serena's black Mercedes...what black Mercedes? Didn't Damian turned that into scrap metal

The Outfit had cut too many scars into the people they called family, especially Theo and his older brother Dino.
"A little rough around the edges. Cold in his heart. Bloodthirsty on the streets" and with the ability to do a complete one-eighty in a split second, Theo was a born and bred DeLuca. His dark and rough childhood left him with deep scars and new scars continue to come as he is being taken as the scapegoat of the Outfit .
After his parents got killed and Dino's recently death , Theo is the next walking target.
Evelina Conti always follows her father's rules even if she dislikes him . But when she finds out that Riley is looking to arrange her marriage for his own benefit, Eve starts to tear up her mask . And Theo does everything to push her over the edge ,teasing her, pushing her limits...and he is well aware that it will end bad for both of them.
So far this is my favorite book from The Chicago War series and Theo and Eve are my favorite couple.
It is safe to say that I'm officially a fan of these series and pretty soon I'm gonna start reading Bethany's other books. She is already quickly climbing on my "Favorite Authors " list.

Another great book in the Chicago Wars series. The plot had plenty of surprising twist and turns and I can't wait for the final book Breathless & Bloodstained. The romance was hot but I wouldn't say it was the main focus of the storyline.

Once again, we are thrust straight into the heart of The Chicago War. And,in the midst of it all, Theo Deluca and Evelina Conti find each other.
To say that Theo is a complicated character is an understatement. While reading the first two books, he has somehow flown under my radar, but with this book he came at me full force. You never know what to expect with him, one minute he's this hot cocky laid back guy, and the next he's this calculated, cold blooded mafioso. But you know what? I'LL TAKE HIM EITHER WAY!!!
Evelina is probably my most favorite of all the Mafia Princesses because that's exactly what she is: The Perfect Mafia Principessa . I love how poise, classy and strong she is. She has always followed the rules, but when Theo comes into her life, she's ready to break free.
Their relationship was NOT an easy one, and for a while there I was all like
. But Eve did not give up. When Theo pushed, she pushed right back. And then, in the midst of all the chaos and bloodshed, she had him, she fell and he fell right along with her...
There was so much more to this book than just Theo and Evelina's story. It was packed with action, drama, betrayal, love, lust, and everything in between. So hold on to your seats people, this will be one hell of a ride!!
