I wanted to like it more, but unfortunately, most of the short stories were misses for me. I did enjoy "Because of the Bone Man" and "The Malady of Need."

The final novella ('because of the Bone Man') in this collection is brilliant, speaking of belonging and identity as attached to meaning and purpose. It's beautifully written, too.
Unfortunately, I found the other stories in this book to be less thoughtful and more carnal than my taste.
