TBR, based on strong recommendation by Bogi Takacs, and particularly for novella "Because of the Bone Man."

Kiini Ibura Salaam has a gift for inflecting her stories with strangeness that's physical - deeply tied to her characters experience of the worlds they inhabit. Sensual and clever and entirely unique. ...more

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book as a Goodreads Giveaway!

The final novella ('because of the Bone Man') in this collection is brilliant, speaking of belonging and identity as attached to meaning and purpose. It's beautifully written, too.

Unfortunately, I found the other stories in this book to be less thoughtful and more carnal than my taste.

A good book for people who like to explore facets of the 'id.'
