Yet another of Lynette Eason's books on my favorites list. (And I have a feeling the next one will land there, as well. ;) )

While it did take me a bit to get back into the swing of things with this series (I read the first book nearly a year ago!), it didn't take me long at all to get into the book itself. This book dives right into the suspense with a break-in on page one, a body being found by page four, and a building burning to the ground a few pages later! In fact, so much happened in the f

Is it difficult to follow a great novel with an even better sequel?

Did Lynette Eason accomplish this with her latest book?

Without Warning carried the author's unique style and plenty of entertainment. I liked that even when I figured out some things before they were revealed, Lynette shocked me several times with twists I never saw coming. Funny though, once I thought about them, I realized the foreshadowing and red herrings and other writing tactics every author emplo
I really enjoyed this second book in the Elite Guardians series by Lynette Eason. I'm never disappointed when I read her books. With lots of action, suspense, and danger, this is a fast paced romantic suspense story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I did some guessing on who the bad guy was and was half right. :D

Daniel is such a good strong male character. He's a great boss, has taken in his niece to raise, and is a Marine, so he has the ability to focus and think clearly in crisis m

This book. Wowza! Action, suspense, drama, and sweet romance all rolled into a 346 page book. My second favorite in the series, the first being Always Watching.

The characters were by far the best part of this book. Katie was a very well-rounded and complex character. I empathized a lot with her various struggles and could really relate to her, which is the mark of a good character in my mind. Then, there's Daniel. The best character, hands down. Compassionate, honest, loyal, former military nam

This was one of those books that I couldn't put down! I had brought it with me to work to read over my lunch breaks, but soon found that I didn't want my break to end because the book was THAT good.

We meet Katie in the first book where she is one of the bodyguards assigned to the case. But this time, it's her story. We get to know more about Katie and what makes her who she is. I loved her relationship with Daniel as well. He really understood her. And she understood him.

I can't wait to read t

I am a huge fan of Lynette Eason's books, I've read all of her Revell titles to date and all but nine of her Love Inspired Suspense titles. After really enjoying the first book in the series, Always Watching, earlier this year it is putting it mildly to say that I was eagerly anticipating the release of this second book! And I was most definitely not disappointed, this book was phenomenal!

Without Warning was an extremely action-packed suspense! Just when Katie Singleton and Daniel Matthews finished dealing with one threat to their lives, another one was upon them.

The romance was nicely woven into the story and believable in the way it developed. I liked these characters and thought that they both had interesting back stories that still emotionally impacted their daily lives. Riley, Daniel’s niece, was a great addition to the book and I enjoyed getting to know her. Without Warning

After meeting Lynette Eason at the International Christian Retail Show and having the opportunity to interview her, I could not wait to read Without Warning. She gave us a little sneak peek into the book and totally had me hooked. I was not disappointed.
I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Katie Singleton’s personal and professional life is wrought with tragedy. But the one constant in her life is her work as an elite bodyguard at Elite Guardians. Her current client she happened upon quite by accident. Though he’s known for his string of popular gourmet restaurants, Daniel Matthews never expected to be the subject of a stalker. When Katie becomes involved in Daniel’s life after a suspected arsonist sets his restaurant ablaze, and the discovery of a body, Katie assists the former M ...more
3.5 stars.

Five stars for suspense and interesting main characters.

Minus one-half star for being able to guess the villain(s) from the moment of meeting. If I'm going to guess that early on, I prefer Eason's books that are written more like thrillers than mysteries, with us knowing up front who the villain is and watching the protagonists get hunted (as in her Fatal Reunions series, which I loved). But in this one, a pretense of secrecy is there, and that got on my nerves a bit. It took out some

Lynette Eason, one of today's top Romantic Suspense writers, has created a unique group of bodyguards. Elite Guardians Agency is staffed by females and they are quite capable of keeping you safe. They come from various backgrounds and each has a distinct history and can bring different skills to the Agency. I enjoyed the fact that while good at their jobs all of the women show an all too human side. The characters are well developed and the plot is fast moving. This is book two and although I d ...more

Although this book's characters didn't grip me like characters from other books by Eason, I did enjoy it.
The plot was fast, and there was so much action. So much. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't quit reading. I had to find out what happened next.
Although this is book two in a series, I had no problems reading it without reading book one as well.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my review. My thoughts are my own.

Lynette Eason is one of my favorite romantic suspense writers. She knows what the genre readers desire and delivers without hesitation. From the first chapter, Eason does a good job at inviting me into the suspense and doesn't let go until the end of the novel. Without Warning is no expectation.

I enjoy how Eason drew me into the writing. First, the setting is a typical American neighborhood where everyone pay attention when something happens or they are completely ignoring what happens around th

4.5 stars!

I loved this book! I connected with the characters in this book on such a level that I couldn't stop turning the pages. And the action was so non-stop that I never once got bored.

Riley might have been one of the best secondary characters ever. I truly loved her with her tenacity, heart for God, and her ability to connect with both peers and adults. I'm really hoping that maybe someday she'll get her own book because I think she would make an excellent main character.

I absolutely love the female bodyguard twist to this series. Such an engaging breakaway from the traditional alpha hero in rescue mode. There's something exhilarating about a tough-as-nails heroine with protection on her mind.

And I love that Daniel accepts Katie and her skills for what they are. That doesn't mean he stays on the sidelines -- he has an interesting background that makes him more than capable of standing up to danger. Together they make a fearsomely awesome team...though there wa

What I Loved...
I am a big fan of kick-butt women and heroines! Like, Wonder Woman in the recent blockbuster Batman Vs SuperMan Movie was the star in my opinion. Although Superman is nice to look at.

I love reading about the Elite Guardians. Katie was a fun heroine to read. Gun toting, intelligent, ready, willing and able to do what she needs to in a "man's world" yet still womanly and human.

Eason made Katie's character real and flawed yet strong and determined making me want to root for her all t

Another Elite guardians mystery that had me pacing for the next clues!
Welcome Katie to this incredible team of tough, no-fear, yet truly imperfect ladies. Lynette had a well paced suspense throughout the plot which picked up in the intensity towards the end. I enjoyed the character arc in Katie and watching how, with the help of Daniel, she was able to grow in her relationships as well as from her past and dealing with PST. I am so happy I read this before Remembrance Day... a time to reflect o
For me, this was a bit of a disappointing read. Halfway through the book, the suspense angle was blown for me, and I didn't find the book all that suspenseful of a read in the first place! I didn't really see any chemistry between the hero and heroine, so the love declarations were a bit unbelievable. Even the faith aspect was sorely lacking in this story, as it didn't seem like the hero had changed much and there wasn't much in the way of opportunity for faith building in the first place. Without Warning starts with a rush and never lets up. It takes readers on a ride as they watch Katie Singleton try to keep Daniel Matthews and his niece alive. Some one has targeted Daniel and his restaurants, but who is unclear. What is clear is that the intent is to destroy Daniel's businesses and ultimately take his life. The pages turned fast and furious as Katie and her team of Elite Guardians try to stay one step ahead of and finally trap Daniel's nemesis. Filled with sweet romance and ten ...more

Action-packed and suspenseful, with complex characters, a plot that hooked me from the start and kept me interested. The first book I've read by this author, but definitely not the last. Dealt with questions of faith, like how can a good God allow bad things to happen, and issues like PTSD.
Recommend to anyone who enjoys suspense, with mystery, faith and a little romance. Part of a series, but easily reads as a standalone.

4.5 Stars only because of the predictability factor in this one as well.
Otherwise I have no other complaints. I think Daniel, Riley, & Katie are my new favorite characters. I liked them even better than Wade & Olivia in the last book. I liked Riley for her faith & sassines, Daniel for his...well...everything, & Katie for her bravery. Looking forward to book #3! 😊

WITHOUT WARNING immediately jumps into action in this whodunit-and-why novel.

Instead of a much-needed vacation, Katie Singleton—a member of the Elite Guardians Protection Agency—finds herself at the scene of a murder, quickly followed by an act of arson. It appears Daniel Matthews—the uncle of one of Katie’s self-defense students—is being targeted. But why? Out of concern for Riley, Daniel’s niece, Katie inserts herself into the investigation to find out what’s going on. When it’s obvious Daniel

"I don't know what God was doing when He put us all together . . ." (187)

Well, contrary to what the title suggests, I will give you a warning about "Without Warning" by Lynette Eason. You will NOT want to put this down. I fell in love with the Elite Guardian series since Always Watching. And due to a crazy schedule and a mix up, I didn't get the chance to read this until Christmas time, during my break. It was definitely a highlight.

Katie had always struck me as tough and filled with assurance.

Katie Singleton is a member of the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, she finds her next assignment when she sees something odd going on at one of her favorite restaurants.

Daniel Matthews is an ex-marine and the owner of a successful restaurant chain, and loving uncle to is niece, Riley. This is book 2 in the Elite Guardians but can easily be read as a stand alone. The first, which I haven't read, probably gives the background on the group of women who form the bones of the Elite Guardians; but I was still able to follow in this book without any problems.
