Jaspierre had a little problem. She wasn't sure if she should kill the man who's been locked in her basement or let him go. Mother would be so proud if she did - he did kill her cat. But it's been ten years. Jaspierre can't seem to get mad enough to end him. She also had a slightly bigger problem looming. Chance is returning home. It's not so much the man in her basement ...more

Yep, I am sure this is all me but I just could not get into this book at all. I even re-read the the beginning because quite honest I WAS LOST!

Maybe if I pushed myself to go further into the book I may fall in love and think this is FABULOUS but I guess I don't want to push myself to finish a book. I should WANT to eat this book up.

Ties cut...moving on!

This books is about a controlling mother who wants to turn her daughter into a younger version of herself. There is a lot of mind games played throughout this book. There is sex, the F-bomb is used freely so if that isn't your cup of tea, this book isn't for you. I personally enjoyed the characters, all except for mommy dearest, her I could do without, but then the story wouldn't be the same. I received a copy of this book but the review is entirely voluntarily my own.

This is an amazing tale for adults only but still a good sometimes really fun but not a joy ride as you will see in this Gothic style setting. I loved it and you need to get your copy soon to see what I am talking about its very well written, masterful author Mixi J. Applebottom has done well.

Do not waste your time on this book. There. That's my review. I won't waste your time with the gory details about why this book is so horrible. Because I read the book. All of it. And what a waste of time.

Seriously. Why? Why do "authors" do this??? To make money? How can one make money on this?

Are you still reading this? Fine. Then you should know that if you waste your time reading this book, you will at first wonder what is going on because the pacing is very rushed, time jumps around a lot,

I was given this book in return for an honest review and all I can say is those who have delicate stomachs need to take something as book one is filled with blood, death, and torture! Jaspierre Kyller couldn't decided if she wanted to kill the man she abducted ten years ago and kept in a room in the basement, but if she did kill him her mother would be so proud! As a child, she learned to never make her mother angry and to do as she was told, no matter how hideous. But she had a bigger problem ...more

This is a dark and twisted read and I loved reading this! I am definitely a huge fan of dark and sinister reads and this does not disappoint! This is the first book I've read by this author and it definitely won't be the last. I highly recommend reading this and I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Mixi Applebottom gives us a thrilling, edge of your seat story. Couldn't put it down!

One of the best psychological thrillers I have read in a while. Jaspierre was psychologically and physically abused by her mad scientist mother, who killed without discretion. Jasp could not bring herself to be like her mother, she has kept the same man prisoner for the past ten years. She has only killed once in a blacken rage when her kittens died along with the mother cerval that Lucas accidentally ran down. She has grown to care for Lucas, and even became his lover, though she didn't ...more

I Love this woman!

Jaspierre is amazing! A strong female character that is insane and violent. A woman who normally would be someone to dislike immensely, but kind of how Harris made Hannibal Lector a relatable psychopath, Mixi Applebottom has done with Jaspierre. A child raised by "Mother" - a a wealthy woman that abused her daughter so horribly, physically, mentally, socially and psychologically, that you can find yourself relating to her. And understanding why she is the way she is. Loved it!

Mixi is an awesome writer. But this book was too dark for me. I finished it but could not read any more of this series. However, I think Mixi is an awesome author and those who love dark and rather, um, you know, gross, sick and weird stuff, will love this. Mixi has some other series that I love. Love, love, love! This one, I gave 5 star because of how well Mixi writes and it's not her fault this is not my favorite genre. And you who love this genre will love this book. So that's fair.

To sum it all up, two words: kooky and ew. Almost the whole book consists of medium violence and sex/ sensuality and insane mundane passing. It was somewhat creative, but had no meaningful plot schema. Hence, the "kooky" appraisal. I was drawn to this book, and did need closure, though it was not my cup of tea, and I will not read the sequel.

This book was bizarre. It starts well and then turns into a weird nightmare. I will not be reading anything else by this author.

The story was horrible. There were rape scene, physical and verbal abuse scenes, and blood everywhere. I feel nothing after reading this book. maybe because i couldn't feel the characters.

If You Like Gratuitous Torture...

I bought this almost a year ago, so I had not remembered the description on the site. Reading the description now, it seems like it might have been quirky horror, but it wasn't. I read it in one sitting, but the only reason I got to the end was that I was looking for a redeeming feature. I can't think of a single one. The main character isn't redeemable, she's a psychopath with no good qualities. The other characters are crazy, too. The story focuses on the main

Great horror story with a sad twist. The cats are a sweet addition to the story. Love and hate and raw rage.

The story line was good, however it jumped back and forth in time quite a bit. I'm still trying to figure out what the significance of cutting the toes off both, the man she fell in love with and the other one she was torturing??

Jaspierre was a fun but strange story. It took me a while to warm up to it. Then it was up and down. Parts were hard to really understand. I loved Lucas. Hated Chance. Not fond of Mommy Dearest. Cried near the end. That's all you get from me.. If you like quirky warped, messed up characters who are hard to believe exist grab a copy and prepare to be entertained while shaking your head in disbelief. Mixi Applebottom has an awesome imagination.. While "Jaspierre" can be read as a standalone it is ...more

A wonderful awful tale

A wonderfully awful tale of a broken twisted woman that was doomed by a demented mother and a sadistic first time. Experiments that a sane person would never try or suggest. A propensity for swords hidden around a unique mansion, hidden rooms with sterilization and playrooms for her pets. You are coming into an amazing brilliant tale of twisted logic.
