I wish it had more photos of meals. I wonder if other American cookbooks also have only a few pictures of food. At least in Japan, cookbooks usually have photos of all recipes, so this book was not so attractive for me and didn't make me willing to cook something in it... Photos are a very important factor in picking a menu for us.
My husband and I love trying new cooking techniques, and this book is a great way to get started with salt block cooking! Childs explains the history of using salt blocks, including where they are mined, and goes into great detail to ensure your salt block cooking experience is a good one.
I am interested in all of the recipes, but the ones that stand out as must-tries are Cornmeal Pancakes with Honey and Dill-Cured Salmon Gravlax. Yum!
My only complaint about this ebook is that there aren’t photos of each recipe, though the images that are included are beautiful.
