Holy heck! Those body shop boys are smokin! This story is about Johnny, one of the body shop bad boys and Lara but you get a lot of the rest of the bad boys in this book as well. I loved every single one of them and I can't wait till they each get their own book.

Johnny was quite the charmer but he's also a bit damaged from his childhood. His mom died when he was young and the one woman his dad dated, that he cared for, up and left both him and his dad without a backwards glance. Since then his

Sexy mechanic with a charming smile, heart of gold and a naughty side? Yes, please!

The Gist: Johnny has had a thing for Lara for years and she's not given the playboy the time of day. Nope. Sure hasn't. But when he comes to her rescue and shows another side of himself she's left begging him to ask her out one more time.

Okay so Lara and Johnny. They're pretty great characters most of the time. Bo

When I heard about this new series, I nearly jumped out of my skin. Marie Harte is an author whose books I’ve only really discovered in the last couple of years, but she has an extensive backlist that ranges from PNR to Contemporary and more. For me, I discovered her Contemporary Romances first and fell in love with the McCauley Brothers series. The Bad Boys Body Shop series is a spin off from that one as it is set in the garage that the heroine in WHAT TO DO WITH A BAD BOY owns.

Mocha review of Test Drive

With 60 ml of espresso, 60 ml of chocolate and 30 ml of steamed milk, a mocha is a the right choice if you want something sweet and sexy. Test Drive delivered the perfect Mocha coffee and I've broken it down for you....

Espresso: Marie Harte gives you characters who are a little rough around the edges but very real. Johnny Devlin was raised by his father, the owner of a local strip club and he did a little time as a young adult when he went for a joyride in a stolen ca

This was another case of LOVED the H but disliked the h.

Although there was one thing I could have done without for Johnny (view spoiler) I liked that he has a personality. He wasn't just a sexy guy who had a killer body and knew how to use it. He was funny, and sweet, and tried so hard to make dating Lara something special. He genuinely wanted to build a relationship with the h that wasn't just about the hot sexual che

Squealing and I don’t mean tires, Marie Harte has a new series. It is based in the garage of Delilah Webster from her McCauley Brothers series, we get everything we’ve come to expect from Harte and more…strong ties that go deeper than blood, explosive chemistry and swoon worthy characters that make you want to get a little greasy. That also comes with well-developed characters with heart felt emotional ties.

Since this was the first in a new series, it a had somewhat slow start but I soon found m
Stuff I didn't like:

• H is a manwhore pig."...a player and proud of it." "Johnny could have written a book on how to please women, a virtual connoisseur by age sixteen." Ugh.
• Every woman H sees he's sizing up their beauty & assets...even h's sister and its disgusting! And he even compares her to h! "Kristin had a mesmerizing beauty no exhaustion could hide. It was easy to see how Lara’s sister had accumulated so many male friends in what had to be no more than thirty years. Kristin could h

Test Drive was a good start to the Body Shop Bad Boys series.

The storyline was entertaining, my interest was held from the beginning to end.
Loved the characters, they had great chemistry and I enjoyed watching them fall in love.

Looking forward to the next book, Roadside Assistance.

Thank you SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca via Netgalley for the advance copy.
2.5 stars. It would have been 3 or 3.5 except for the last 10% or so. They have a fight, she says cruel things, he responds stupidly. All their friends dump on him, no one acknowledges her bad behavior. He grovels and apologizes, she doesn't, they live happily ever after. Eff that.

Marie Harte’s McCauley brothers series is a favorite of mine in contemporary romance (such that I’ve bought most of the paperbacks to go with my digital copies). When I heard she was writing a new series featuring mechanics at a garage, I was eager to put it on my review list. In this story, Johnny is one of those playboy types with a good heart. He’s a full time mechanic, with a crush on local waitress Lara. He’s tried asking her out a few times but she’s always resisted – but not because she w ...more

I'm going to go mental on y'all again.  Yes, I will review this book but a life lesson is order first.

I'm old.  So I can preach to you that there are two schools of thought when it comes to finding the perfect person to hook your life to.  The first one is that you're lucky enough to meet and completely mesh with your soul mate early in life and make awesome little babies that leave the nest in time for you and your loved one to be mobile throughout all of your retirement and thoroughly enjoy

I somehow missed the news that Marie Harte's new series, Body Shop Bad Boys, is a spin-off of her McCauley Brothers series but that just made it all the better for me. Having seen bits and pieces of these characters in the other series, it was so easy to slip into this series and fall in love with this rough and tumble group of misfits that all work for Webster's Garage. I love that these are blue collar men to the core, that most h

TEST DRIVE is an absolutely fun start to this new series and I'm looking forward to the rest of it. The humor is exactly what I enjoy reading and I had a really good time with it.

Johnny Devlin is a ladies' man through and through, with the reputation to support that claim and charming as he is, very few women resist him. Actually only one woman seems immune to his charm - bartender Lara Valley. Lara isn't like the typical woman Johnny gets with. She is focused on school as a ticket out of a life

A new series by Marie Harte? Yes please! This is a spin off series from the McCauley brothers and while we meet some new characters the previous ones make appearances throughout the story. In this series you don't have to read the other series to know what's going on.

We meet Johnny who works at the garage with three other hot guys who you also meet in this story. They are all fun loving and give each other some shit when it's needed. Johnny is known for his reputation with women but there is on

Johnny has been working at the garage most of his life and he is a staple at Ray’s bar. He has a jaded past and has a hard time committing. But Lara continues to turn his head. Maybe the reason is because she constantly says no and he likes the rejection. As he gets to know Lara, he comes to realize that she is the one he will lose his heart to.

Test Drive was an easy book to just fall into and find yourself reading in one sitting. I can’t say it was out of excitement, but rather out of ease of style from Marie Harte. The story was fun and it was sweet. And the sexual tension between our leads was a perfect mix of pantie-melting and heart!
When this series was first announced I was beyond excited because my love for the McCauley’s holds no bound and this is a spin-off from that series. You just can’t help but love these characters. They

Harte has created a novel full of romance and real friendships amidst the lives of hard characters with true loyalty. Suspense and chemistry make their appearance throughout as we get to know these fantastic characters. I liked the way that the author builds an actual relationship between the main characters. It’s not all chemistry, even though that is definitely there.

There was a great deal of character development at the beginning of this novel, so it took me a bit to really get into the stor

Johnny has wanted Lara forever and after relentless pursuit, she finally agrees. Both of them have pasts and Lara is definitely not looking for a relationship, especially with Johnny, but you know what happens. Sparks fly. They can't stop.

These characters were likable enough, but I didn't love this book. There was a lot going on but not too much drama, and it just seemed like romance for the sake of romance. For some reason, I feel like Tes

This title includes sneak peeks of two Harte novels (Roadside Assistance and A Sure Thing). I’m fairly certain if you read them-you’ll want to purchase them.

Johnny Walker Devlin is a man’s man. He’s over six feet tall, hard-bodied, tattooed, and like the commercial “Built Ford Tough.” He can fix a car, throw back drinks with the guys, or bust someone’s face. But like Superman with kryptonite, he too has a weakness. A brown-eyed bartender named Lara. Lara doesn’t date bar patron

I've got to admit that it took me a little while to get into this book. It's slow to start and didn't really pick up, for me, until about 20%. There are so many characters at the beginning that I found it hard to get to know them in the first few chapters and therefore I didn't really feel a connection.

However, don't let that deter you. By the time I hit the halfway mark, I'd gotten to know Johnny. He has a bit of a "player" reputation but he's not an arse. As the story moves along you soon rea

Ok I started this series cause it's a spin off sequel series to the brothers ones which was really cute.

- I liked how the the members from the garage who were faintly mentioned in the last book of the brothers series

- I liked how the members of the garage were together, especially how they teased each other.

- I liked that the hero had a crush on the heroine since forever and I was glad for him when she finally agreed to hang out with him

- I didn't like how even though the heroine has a soft spo

Test Drive is the first book in the Body Shop Bad Boys series which continues the McCauley Brothers series by being set in the body shop owned by Del. In this first book, Lara Valley has been on Johnny Devlin's radar for several years, but he finally decides that it is time for them to start dating. Lara knows Johnny's reputation as a love-em-and-leave-em kind if guy, but she is so attracted that she can't say no any longer. I liked this one but I was annoyed with the way these two were so in their heads. If they had just talked to each other a tiny little bit, a lot of their issues could have been avoided. I'm glad it worked out for them because if two people ever deserved an HEA it would have been them.

I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing with Ron but it didn't put me off from the story or anything. I just don't know if it was necessary.

I'll definitely continue on with this series. I enjoyed this first b

If you are looking for a book that features the typically tattooed bad boy then you'll be surprised when you read Test Drive. This book isn't your average gritty book about hard core alpha males, inked from head to toe, and full of attitude. Oh, this book has all that but it is so much more!

Johnny Devlin has had it bad for Lara Valley from the moment he set eyes on her. She refuses to succumb to his bad boy charm though, and Johnny can't get her to go out with him. So, there he sits, in the bar

Two years ago Marie Harte released the McCauley Brothers series. I read the last two, Ruining Mr. Perfect and What to do with a Bad boy this book is a spin off of the latter of the two. The characters from Murphy's Garage that were introduced are finally getting their stories. Unfortunately it's been two years and A LOT of book later I didn't remember the characters right of the bat and I felt a little confused with the abundance of character intros in the very first chapter. After reading some positive reviews, I was hoping for a fun, sexy read, but I found I was ultimately bored by the characters and story and struggled to finish this.
Although this book is the first in a series, it felt like the book started in the middle. Lots of characters were introduced in the first chapter, with private jokes and obviously a lot of back history to be explained- it took me a while to actually figure out who all the characters were.
