Unsure if this Magic Tree House wannabe is actually not as well-written as Magic Tree House OR has the misfortune of meeting me when I'm 24 instead of 12.

All the same, I was really rather surprised at how little attempts were made towards actual historical accuracy. Sure, I'm on board with meeting Robin Hood, but when it's pitched as /time travel/ I expect a bit more care to be taken in showing his surroundings.

So fun! So funny! Children's books are to be read aloud. So that's what I did.

This is a fun series that is part of the Hooked on Phonics program. The reads were interesting, though they do bog down on occasion, particularly the longer chapters. The concept is clever and the book was a good fit with the program, both as a reward (when you finish the lessons, you can read the next book) and as an appropriate title for the child's reading level.

But in the end, the concept was more engaging than the actual writing. Perhaps this is typical of books that are emphasizing certain phonics levels? Good for the program, but I would not recommend others run out and buy them.

This is another good book in this children's book series. It's about Robin Hood and his Merry Men. What's not to like? Sending it to my niece, Margaux, to enjoy and share with her brother.
