I’ve had my eye on The Boyfriend Whisperer for quite a while. The cover is cute, and the premise is downright adorable. When the author asked if I’d like to read a copy for review, I jumped at the chance. I shimmied it into my reading week—even though I did not have the time, honestly—and could barely put it down.

Lexi Malloy had been in love with

The Boyfriend Whisperer is a young adult American sports themed romance. Lexi Malloy gets good grades and is a top basketball player. Most of her friends are guys, which is okay by her. She’s President and CEO of Boyfriend Whisperer Enterprises within which, for $125 per match, Lexi helps bring couples together - anonymously. So far she’s had a 95% success rate, but no one knows who the mysterious Boyfriend Whisperer is. The public face of the business belongs to Abi, who accepts the clients and ...more

This book was exactly what I was hoping it would be: fun, cute, and very sweet.

Lexi, the main character, is a good narrator. I consistently liked her throughout the book. She's an all-star on the girls' basketball team, and she's also the "President and CEO" of her very own business: Boyfriend Whisperer Enterprises. She's sort of like if Veronica Mars and Cupid had a baby, conducting steakouts to spy on boys to find out more about them to feed to her clients. She sends her clients em

An extremely cute YA high school read about a girl who has found a way to become the cupid of her high school. While Lexi is sporty and relates well to boys she is still a girl and understands that sometimes love just needs a helping hand. But the boy she likes, her best-friend, doesn’t seem to have any idea. I loved this high school romance. The friendship between Lexi and her friend Abi was lovely to read about. Chris’ character was interesting and so blind to Lexi’s situation. Overall, this w ...more

A good read. Cute, fun, and enjoyable, even though I did feel like I was reading a female, high school version of the movie HITCH. I was a little disappointed in the ending. I felt like we built up to this reveal, but it was rather anticlimactic. I definitely was looking for some kind of reaction from him. Something more than a simple, yeah, me too. Then, I felt like it stopped too soon for all that build up we only get a few pages where they're together. Still worth the read though. Another gre ...more

The Boyfriend Whisperer by Linda Budzinski is a fun, young adult clean read! Lexi has made a small business of helping young women gain the attention of guys they are interested in. She calls herself The Boyfriend Whisperer and no one knows it's Lexi, except her assistant Abi. All seems fine until Lindsay hires the boyfriend whisperer to help her get Chris, Lexi's best friend and long time crush. Lexi questions her matchmaking business, her friendships, her future as a basketball player and even ...more

The Boyfriend Whisperer is a young adult contemporary romance by Linda Budzinski. I have never read any of Linda's previous books, but I will certainly be on the look out for her next one. The Boyfriend Whisperer was a super cute read that was an adorable Cyrano De Bergerac-esque match making romp I loved. I am a big sucker for a cute friends to more story, and I also have a soft spot in my heart for matching romances, so this one was a

This book was definitely a cute read! It was addictive and I easily finished it in two sittings.

Love is but a whisper away.

Lexi is the Boyfriend Whisperer. Running a covert operation in the school, she plays a secret Cupid, spying on love interests, and coaching her clients on how to make them fall in love with them. Being a tomboy that enjoys sports, Lexi has always known how to get a guy's attention, giving her a 95% success rate at matching couples.

I wanted a two hour read and that is exactly what I got
Things I liked
1.The fact that it was the girl who wanted to have more choices in her career and the guy was not some all knowing god of a person. (Breaking those contemporary rom stereotypes)
2.No tomboy to girly girl cliche
3.Not much of the social hierarchy and the protagonist spoiler did not become "prom Queen" (is it such a big thing in the west really ?)

Things that could be improved (not I'm all high and mighty to judge ) ...more

This is the first book by this author that I've read, it was fun. Lexi is the matchmaker extronadaire for her high school. Her crush is also her friend Chris, the two have been friends since early school. For someone who knows each other so well, you'd think that Chris would pick up on her crush on him, but nope. Can the selflessness that Lexi has give her best friend to the girl who wants him, or will she hit him upside the head, pointing out her true feelings for him? You've got to give this o ...more

A tale of teenage angst. As a high school sophomore, Lexi is a basketball phenom with an interesting side job as a matchmaker. Lexi has a best friend, Chris, who treats her like one of guys. Lexi has feelings for Chris but doesn't know what to do about telling him. One of her clients asks to be matched with Chris and Lexi takes the job not sure of how things will work out. At the same time, Lexi, is being courted by collegiate schools to play basketball and she doesn't know how she feels about t ...more

High level teen angst at its best!
This was such a clever and sweet book! I loved the high school matchmaker and her assistant. For Lexi, secretly making love connections for her fellow classmates is easy but putting her own love life in order is impossible. Her crush on her life long best friend is killing her.
This book was great! I read through it so fast - in one sitting- because I couldn't put it down! It just flowed so easily that each chapter flew by and I just didn't want to st

Budzinski does it again!

Where was the boyfriend whisperer when I was in school? This book is sweet, fun, and utterly charming. Lexi is one of the guys (something my high-school self definitely relates to) and while her own love life may be non-existent, she wants to see others find their true love.

Her best friend Chris is a dream, and the chemistry between them kept the pages turning. (Clearly, since I read this in one sitting.) If you like friends-turned-more stories, de

Lexi is the boyfriend whisperer. She researches guys and helps girls feel more confident in talking to them, also giving tips to help them become a couple. Things are going well until she is enlisted to whisper her best friend, that she is secretly in love with, for somewhere else. She has to choose to make a decision for her business or for her heart.

If you want a fun romp then Linda Budzinski’s The Boyfriend Whisperer is the book for you. Lexi Malloy is a great lead character and her story was s delightful read. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to The Boyfriend Wh ...more

This book was just okay. Mostly, I enjoyed reading it but I couldn't get behind the characters as much as I wanted to. First because most of Lexi and Chris's problems were all stupidly self-inflicted. It wasn't just that they were too chicken to be honest about their feelings. They were both pretty much actively working against their own interests. Second, the whole concept of Boyfriend Whisperer Inc is really naive. And her belief that she could franchise is even more ridiculous. I don't blame ...more

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Lexi is the boyfriend Whisperer, Chris is her best friend who she is in love with.
Lexi Whispered Chris for another girl then had to live with the fact that the person she wants is with someone else.
Then the whole boyfriend Whisperer is exposed and everyone's angry with her. Except Chris, he doesn't stay angry for long and it turns out that he doesn't just see her as just one of the guys.
A great story with excellent characters and a happy ending guaranteed

This was a such a fun and sweet YA romance. Loved this story from beginning to end. Lexi and Chris, best friends but they can’t figure out to turn the friendship into something more. Being 16 and in High school makes everything harder and their love story isn’t easy. It’s down right complicated till they finally take that final plunge to become more.

What a fun read! I read this book in three sittings and just purchased the sequel. It had everything I love in contemporary YA: a smart, athletic female lead, a sticky situation that has serious consequences and lifelong friendships with the potential for more.

YA read that's funny, sweet and cute. Lexi has a successful business in high school as an anonymous source that helps crushes be together, yet she's single and with feelings for her best friend, Chris.
