Not as good as the first but still a good story. Seeing Joseph fall was worth it! He and Ember dated in high school. But never had sex and moved on. I do not have a problem with this when they both move on and no one is pining.

Ember rocks. Only she could have handled Joseph.

When he left her, I cried. It was so heartbreaking.

My problem with the story... The sex. No shit! For me that is shocking.

This is book two in a series of brothers (blood and brothers, as in teammates) that work for Guardian Security. There are other members as well and I plan to read the entire series. Book one was Jacob and Tori. This is book two and is Joseph and Em's story.

He is the elite of assassins and she is an elite trauma doctor. She fights for life while he ends it in the name of saving others. They grew up together. She does not know what he does. All she knows was he left to go into the military 16 yea

I was waiting for Josephs story he was the dark brother who no one would hear from but one call his ex Ember calling him that she is in trouble he dropped everything and went to her. Embers friend gave her a flash drive with information unfortunately this puts her in danger. Get ready y’all, rant ahead!!!

Not feeling the love for this one, the story or the characters. But that’s okay, Joseph was sort of the mysterious Guardian Brother in the last bk and didn’t warrant any real interest but what the heck at $.099 I wanted to give it go especially since I liked the last bk so much. Will I be moving on to bk 3 after this bk chapped me off? Absolutely, the Heroes can’t all be freaky. And on that note….

Joseph is the oldest brother and the elusive, mysterious, lone killer
Nerdy Dirty & Flirty

The assassin and the doctor are a sexy, combustible pair...

Emotional, full of action, drama and tension, this story was everything I’d hoped it would be.

Ember Harris is embarking on a new life adventure but not the one she planned for. Walking away from her high-stress job as an emergency room doctor, she planned to take a step back and smell the roses before figuring out what’s next. What she didn’t expect was to reconnect with the one man in her entire life who gave her a sense of safety and b

Reviewing on behalg of Triple B's Book Blog
After reading the first book I couldn't wait to get stuck into Joseph and Ember's story.
Man I was so not disappointed!
I think I might have liked it more than book #1, if that's possible.
This, like the first one starts off in quite a dark place. Joseph has been captured and is being tortured at the hands of his captors but they have underesti

Joseph has an alter ego called Fury and Fury is known as one of the best assassins in the world. Ember is a medical professional dealing directly with trauma institutions like the emergency room at the hospital. In one fell swoop after 16 years of absence Joseph and Ember find themselves back in the same vicinity, except it isn't to reminisce, it's to protect Ember from the bad guys that are after her. "If you have someone, stop wasting what precious time you have on this earth by protecting her ...more
An enjoyable story, I was intrigued by Jason when reading Jacob's story and was glad to see his story was next and it really didn't disappoint. As an assassin and loner I did wonder how he would meet and fall for someone and I liked the idea that his eventual lover would be an old friend of his. Dr Ember Harris was a great character strong and fiesty and the way Jason rescued her was great, I do wish though that some of the action had been included rather than passed over but I did really enjoy ...more

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is book 2 of a fantab new series. Right away you are sucked into the action packed, suspense-filled storyline. So well written, it felt as if I were right there in the thick of things. This book does not disappoint and is a must-read. With strong, fully developed characters and a riveting storyline, you will hate having to step away from the book even for the shortest of time. Recommends it for: everyone!!!!
What a riveting book!!! I literally couldn't put this book down! Joseph and Em was a love but packed with action it was unreal! I enjoyed the touches of stories from their youth and love story from that time and that their love continued, even actions their life went on! I loved the first book, have been waiting for the second can't wait for the next book! Wonderful series with HEAs! What wonderful author and a wonderful story!

It's about the individual moments
that take your breath away.

This is my first book by Author Kris Michaels, and I'm sooo happy to have found her!!!
Joseph, (Kings of Guardian Book 2), is a great second chance romance, one that is packed full with action, angst, dangerous moments and swoon-worthy lines, intriguing characters and yes, panty-melting sex scenes. There's hardly a dull moment where your heart rate can slow down a little, and those scarc

Good story though not for those with delicate tastes

This second entry in the Guardians series is an intriguing character study into an assassin's life. I very much enjoyed the story of the relationship between Joseph and Ember. However, the sex in this book is much rougher and darker than in the first and is not for everyone. It was in fact a bit much for me and I did quite a bit of skimming over the paragraphs with those scenes.

The story was interesting and the info on characters from other boo

This is the second book in Kris Michaels' Kings of Guardians series, The eldest of the King brothers, Joseph is an assassin who works for a mercenary group. His high school girlfriend, Ember Harris, is an ER doc who has decided to take a year off and figure out her life. After another ex hands her evidence that will take down corrupt politicians and a drug cartel for safe keeping, she contacts Joseph and asks for his help.

While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Jose
Ugh! I did not like this book BECAUSE of the main characters, Joseph (Joey) and Ember. Joseph's character was that of an assassin. He was a loner, but had brothers in the Guardians. His choices lead him down the path(s) that he went down. Ember's character was a grown--adult--woman. She was an Emergency Room doctor, but did not have the personality or the dialogue to support that character type. She had no backbone and allowed herself to be bullied by Joseph throughout the entire story. He told ...more

This is book 2 in Kris Michaels Kings of Guardian series, it's Joseph ( Joey, AKA Fury) king'size and Ember's story. I received an ARC of this book from the author for an honest review.
Kings of Guardian is one of my new favourite series'. Kris Michaels does a fantastic job of pulling every possible emotion out of me and this book was no exception. Right from page 1, I was riveted and devouring the pages for what happens. Many readers will relate to this second-chance at love book since first loves are so very hard to forget, if not impossible. If you've read Jacob (Book 1), you will be just as taken with his b

Wow, just WOW!

I have very few authors on my "must read" list but Kris Michaels has just been added! Her books have it all - hot men, strong women, action, love, lust, and intrigue. I couldn't put this second book in the Guardian series down. Joseph was a broken, hollow man who spent his life and gave his soul to rid the world of those people who feed on the lives and pain of others until a voice from the past reaches into the darkness and resurrects him. I am so excited to have been introduced t
I liked this book until the last few chapters. I saw the ending from five miles away and thought...too quick! Too perfect!

I was disappointed with the second story in this series because I didn't connect with the relationship between Joseph and Ember, like I did with Jacob and Tori in the first book. While both brothers (Jacob and Joseph) claimed love for their partners, I didn't feel any respect in Joseph and Ember's relationship. I may have been more comfortable with the nature of Joseph and Ember's relationship if it felt consensual and respectful, but it didn't. I'm okay with people getting as kinky as they want ...more

Good book, but.........

The book was good, but it wasn’t really for me.
**** Spoilers ahead****

My own personal issues with this book have to do with the “type” of sex the H “requires”. I found no “loving, tender sex. While I get that wasn’t IT for the H, I felt no emotional connection during them. Only the H’s happiness about having a willing partner. So for me, it was to violent and Sadistic.
Also the fact that the H treated the h as if she had no voice in anything. He was the only one to made d

Absolutely amazing! Had me hooked from page one! This is the 2nd book in the Guardian series. It seems each book gets better and better. I love how Kris Michaels lays the ground work for the next book without taking away from the book you are currently reading. This story about Joseph, a trained assassin for the most part, and Ember, the love of his life from his past before the military, is intense from start to finish. Lots of action and suspense as Joseph protects Ember and lays his

I was riveted to this book in the first two paragraphs and the intensity did not lessen much throughout this book. I think that I held my breath through at least one quarter of the book. Absolutely captivating! Joseph "Fury" King is dark, lethal, a wraith. He was absolutely fascinating to me. So complicated, yet his love for Ember Harris is all consuming. I loved Ember's fiery ginger personality and her take no prisoners attitude. She was Joseph's perfect match. I must confess that I she

Enjoying This Series

I’m so happy I discovered this author and specifically this series when there were 8 plus books already out. I get to go from one book to the next and continue my immersion into the lives of the men of Guardian Security. I love when series build upon supporting characters from an authors previous books. Ms. Michaels also has either done extensive research on the military/ law enforcement or has worked in those sectors because her descriptions and understanding of covert ops a

Wow, Furious!

This is the second novel from Kris Michaels that I've read, and I'm deeply hooked. This author has a way of making the characters real and unforgettable. The trades she gave of Fury in the first story about Jacob guaranteed that I would read this one as it is Joseph's tale. Well by gory gum, I now plan on reading all of this series! Action, adventure, suspense, and most of all a romance between two very real and flawed people makes for a great story.

I don't care WHAT you call him...he's the Alpha man to end all Alpha men!!

Tho, let's not overlook his gooey center where, Ember, his first love from childhood has resided since first laying eyes on her. But his life...his work...his job doesn't allow for relationships.

So what is he to do when she calls, tells him she's scared for her life, and needs his help??

You MUST read this series. This King family is simply...DELICIOUS.
And Joseph, Book 2, is just as good as

I have to give a great thank you to Kris Michaels. The Kings series is amazingly written with well developed characters running throughout the entire series. I enjoy how each story is started in the previos one, but they are still All stand-alone a. I accidentally read book 7 after book 1 leaving a lot of stories in between. Now going back to the beginning again. My only struggle though, is fining Adams story. There is no kindle addition. Why?
