I was surprised - just because I wasn't very well informed and because I haven't read travel literature like this before - that the book actually consists of episodes. Short stories about different countries, different world views, written by different people. People who travel alone or couples on their way around the world. This way, of course, you don't have enough time to get a feel for the protagonist but on the other hand you don't have to stick with one for too long if you don't like him. You probably get a peek of many more places than you would while reading from only one trip, but on the other hand it's just that: One trip. Also there are too many wannabe (or actual) novelists among the authors so it gets pretty philosopical all the time and in some episodes that's really the only thing that we get - no travel involved, just deeply thinking about it. There certainly were some stories that were very interesting and exciting and I would've loved to keep on reading with those particular traveleres, but there were also a lot which I didn't care for at all. Surprisingly, the few stories from Germany - that's where I'm from and I don't find it very interesting mostly - were actually pretty exciting and fun!
Perfekt zu Zeiten von Corona, träumen vom Reisen. Eine gute Zusammenstellung sehr unterschiedlicher Geschichten aus den verschiedensten Ecken der Welt.
