This nature journal is dedicated to all of the nature lovers, for we are the bridge, the liaisons of the natural world to humanity. Journaling and nature sketching offers an intimate way to connect with nature no matter where you are. This is a simple nature journal, with some ideas and inspiration from Madison Woods, naturalist and author who lives deep in the wilderness of the Ozarks. The journal entry pages have unlined space at the top of the front page, with light lines on the bottom half and backsides so there is room enough for all of your thoughts. For more inspiration you can follow along with her online nature journal at WildOzarkNatureJournal.com. There is no right or wrong way to create your journal, and it doesn't matter if the nature sketches you draw are good/bad. All that matters is the relationship forged with the natural world while you're sitting in contemplation of the subject.
This is a book I created - I'm just leaving this review to answer some of the concerns others might have. I worried that the paper wouldn't be good enough, since it isn't printed and bound like a traditional "sketch" book. However, it works great. In fact, I find my color shows up better on these pages than they do in other sketch books. I still have to spray the finished drawing with a fixative, but I have to do that on any paper.
The other detail I like about these journals is that you can put the date on the spine of the book, so after several years of journaling, you'll be able to easily keep them in order.
