Sophia Pappas is an average fifteen year old girl living with her single mom and older sister until a traumatic car accident changes her life forever. Now everything she thought she knew about her life to be true is revealed to be a lie. Her father is not dead. He is alive and well, living on Mt. Olympus because he is the Greek god Eros. This makes Sophia a demigoddess named Amyara. As her powers grow, she has to deal with her vivacious best friend, Buffy; her father returning to Earth to help her; her changing physical appearance and a new boyfriend (who is possibly paranormal). Her journey is just beginning as she finds out that she has enemies hot on her trail. There is a faction of possibly demons, Clotho the Fate and several others all out to see her dead before she can realize the prophecies that say she will bring about a love utopia on Earth. Can she avoid all these threats and still have fun at Prom? Can she have a normal life and still be a demigoddess? Only time will tell if she can fulfill the prophecies, be a good demigoddess and still be a human girl.

I am Amyara by Hannah Earl. This was an absolutely fantastic. It was very well written with action from the first page. Sophia papas world is going to change after she has a car crash with her sister. When she dramatically heals fast her father who is meant to be dead tells Sophia she is like him a god. Her name is Amyara. His is Eros. She goes to his world when she is sleeping. This had shocks sirprises and more shocks. Absolutely brilliant. I do hope there is more to come as they left the ending open and I want to find out what happens next. 5*.

I can't quite put into words how much I enjoyed I Am Amyara. It's funny, serious, heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time all while still being very entertaining. I was stealthily drawn in and before I knew it I was left wanting more(cliffhanger. lol), so much more. I can't wait to find out what will happen next!!
Definitely best result a car accident could bring.
Teenage years are always so full of new discoveries. Would be lovely if reality brought more like books. Despite minor changes and difficulty adjusting. It would be a cakewalk in comparison to being human.
I love Greek mythology and Hannah Earl brings it all to life into today's setting. Learning more about yourself that you could never imagine would be a shock for anyone. But the writing brings it forward to today and is to understand no matter if you like Greek mythology or not. Great characters, ( good and bad ) lots of different emotions, and your kept thinking about what might happen next. I love that in a great book
This book begins with a car accident which turns the lives of a family upside down in more ways than one. It is filled with heart wrenching flashbacks between a father and daughter which stretches across time and space and takes the book in an unexpected direction. The book is filled with all kinds of cultural references (Buffy The Vampire Slayer for one) and food references (not recommended if you're starting a new diet!) and it is a fun read. Maybe you'll even learn something along the way. Next book please!
This book is a fun mix of mythology and paranormal. Imagine waking up from a car accident, quickly on the mend, to find out the reason is your a demigod. That's what happens to Sophia. She's learning about her secret powers, Olympus connections and just trying to be a normal girl and go to the prom with her new boyfriend. Of course, nothing is easy as she also has to battle those who threaten earth's happiness. This is book 1 and has a cliffhanger.
I cant say enough awesome things about this book. It started out strong; I loved the characters, the story flowed beautifully, it kept my attention the entire time. I laughed and cried. I could picture all the characters in my mind. It was sexy and fun. I didnt want it to end. It was beautifully written and Hannah Earl did her research for this book. She is a talented author and I cant wait to read more from her.
"I Am Amyara" was a great paranormal book that keeps you on your toes! I loved the twists and turns on each corner and the mystery that the characters have. I like anything to do with greek gods. I can't wait for her next book, I'm sure it will be as good as the first!
I love how engrossed in Greek mythology this book is. Not only does it include Greek mythology, it also includes other supernatural creatures. It is full of suspense. As you read, you never know what is going to happen next. Definitely looking forward to Book 2.
Sophie Papas really thinks that here high school life would be easy until the day her and her sister get into a horrible car accident. Things start to change and boy do they change . She finds out that everything she has been told is one great big lie and her father is alive and living on Mount Olympus . Yes he is a God and then there is a guy stalking her hospital room and well he is a demon. Then there is the boyfriend that well she thought was normal but alas will anything be normal again .
There are a so many characters in this book that are in this book . The main character Sophie is sometimes naïve as you start this book . She just is kind of just there but as the story goes on she really is a fun read . She starts to come into her powers and man its so funny to read . Conner is so sweet to read he is so protective of Sophie and he is so cute when he does it . I just really love these two together . We have her best friend who is the comic relief betwen them all . She is so fun and pushy in her own way . Like i said there are so many characters to mention but they are so much fun to read .
I will say this is a pretty good read it took me a few chapters to actually get into the story and figure out what was happening . The characters are well written but i just didn't feel a connection to them until they were out of the hospital and interacting together . Thats when i got into the story more . I really like the mix between Greek mythology and some other paranormal entities . There were some spelling mistakes and places where it lagged , which would rectify itself with another edit . Over all i truly enjoyed this story and would like to read more about these characters in her other books . This would be a really good for your teen ager on spring break . Check it out .
Sophia was just an average teenager until she and her sister are in a serious car accident. After she awakens in the hospital she starts having way too realistic dreams about her dead father and she’s healing faster than humanly possible. Soon she finds out her father is not dead, but is in fact the god Eros which makes her a demigod.
Now Sophia is left trying to balance her normal teenage life and the new goddess abilities that keep popping up. Throw in some possible demons trying to kill her and suddenly Sophia’s life is very complicated.
We are thrown into action from the first page and the story held my interest until the last. The characters are fun and relatable. I felt like I was in high school again (mostly the good bits). Hannah Earl makes Greek Mythology fresh and fun, while throwing in a splash of paranormal. There were lots of 80`s and 90’s throwbacks that I thoroughly enjoyed.
If I have any hang ups about this book it’s that the ending seemed abrupt.
I would recommend this book and will definitely continuing on with the series.
I really liked this one. I found Sophia to be an extremely entertaining heroine. Her thought processes and dialogue were quirky and funny, and it was a refreshing change from the typical serious/badass/brooding characters prevalent in a lot of YA fantasy/paranormal books. That's not to say that she's not badass- she is set up to reach a high level of badassery, she just hasn't learned to control her powers and use them yet. Connor... oh Connor, how I love you! Besides a few secrets, he is pretty much the perfect boyfriend. He's charming, courteous, protective and he makes Sophia (and me!) laugh. Not to mention that he's a hot redhead with green eyes... perfect! The ending is a cliffhanger that'll leave you hungry for more. There are a few typos and punctuation issues, but not so many that it totally rips you from the story. All in all, I Am Amyara is a solid, entertaining read with potential to become a great series!
I've only read a handful of YA's and they are starting to grow on me! I really enjoyed this book although a little on the high school side for me. New author for me too. It starts out fast and Sophia's life is turned upside down tragically. Everything Sophia knew to be true was not. This book is a cross between a Paranormal and Greek Mythology which I love that combination. This book drew me in and kept my attention til the end. Had a few moments of slowness but not overly so. I gotta know whats next! I really loved reading about Sophia. She was funny and well learning to control her powers is a new experience. Cant wait for more!
I got a copy of this for a fair and honest review. I went into this book thinking one thing, but there was so much more in Sophia and her family and friends' lives that came to light. There is heartbreak, friendships, love and tears for all kind of events that take place. It was a lot to handle and kept me on the edge of my seat and I am so excited read the next one as soon as I can get my hands on it. I love the mythology and stories, but I had to take a moment or two to recall me studies of the ancient world and its deities. Grab a copy of this book you will love the adventure.
Her life should have been simple and all she should worry about is school and the prom. Then her life changes when she finds her father did not due but went home to the gods. A demon is following her. How did this all happen? It was all due to an accident she had. How is her life going to be now? See what will happen

Reading this book was slow. I love books this one and me didn't get along and that's ok. There was so many details for some things and not enough in others. On the places I wanted more details or something was not explained the author would throw in like daddy and me decided and that was it. Maybe you will love it and hey that's why there are so many books out there. I hope you enjoy this read...
Some parts of the book are overwhelmed with every detail while others are glossed or skipped but then mentioned as if they happened later. Ex: the discussion with her father about her powers is super short and glossed but the next chapter is full of "Daddy said....". Would have been far more engaging if we could have read the conversation with him than to be told about it later. I won't be reading the rest of the series.
Other than a few editing calls which would have made for a smoother read, I enjoyed the book. The story is deeply enmeshed into Greek mythology and the characters are well developed and believable. The story itself is a good one, and I found myself wanting the next in line when I came to the end. This new author shows a lot of promise and I'll definitely have her on my list of books to read.
I had a difficult time getting into this book and it just kind of dragged on for me. I did like the idea of gods and goddesses and other supernatural creatures that were present in this book. It was just hard for me to get into. I couldn't really connect with the characters and it was more of a high school drama story then fantasy for me. I voluntarily reviewed an arc form the author.
I really enjoyed this book, it is well written and the characters have great depth and are really likeable, the only down side is the book doesnt really finish, so I guess its part of a series, and you are left wondering what happens

This is a great book! I like the unusual premise for the story and how the author blends paranormal creatures and Greek mythology. There was attention to detail lending an air of believability to the characters. I look forward to reading more of this author's work.
New author for me... this book is great... it starts off slow with a really bad car accident. She wakes up. She's healed within a day.... life will never be the same! If you like Greek mythology you're in luck... read it...
The book is a good teen and young adult paranormal romance read. The characters are good and are believe ability. The story has action, paranormal, Greek mythology, and romance.

Sophia wakes up in the hospital after a terrible accident that involved herself and her sister. While there, she is visited by her previously though deceased father who drops a boulder in her lap. He's actually alive and the Greek God Eros and she's a demigoddess called Amyara.
This book was a good read overall and I enjoyed the play on mythology.
I did feel at times the main character seemed a bit too immature for her age, and I was a bit put off by the editing errors. However, as I said, an overall good read and don’t regret picking it up.
Greek mythology is a favorite of mine, so I am loving Sophie's story. The revelations just keep coming in this fast-paced, fun story about Sophie, her high school friends, and those not in her corner.
If you like anything that has to do with Greeck Mythology, plots, twist, and suspense, this is the book for you. I am rooting for Amyara/Sophia to keep her loving a d accepting nature. The other characters are very wonderful and awesome.
