I was given a copy of Broken Flowers from NetGally for an honest review and this is my review.
I am really torn about this book. For me there is a lot of potential here but it was not taken advantage of and the book was rushed and did not flow very well for me and that drove me nuts. I wish the book would have been a bit longer and been written more in depth. To me the book was choppy and written in what I would call a dumb down level to patronize the reader. I also felt the writer was trying to

I had mixed feelings about Broken Flowers by Howard Finkelstein. The short story is about drug addictions and a broken promise. Dr. Mary Crawford is a psychotherapist who treats people with suicidal tendencies and drug addictions. When she loses a patient due to her selfishness she unknowingly puts her life at risk.

'Broken Flowers' by Howard Finkelstein was a huge disappointment to me. I have given two stars because I still think the story had great potential and I read to the end to see if it did actually go anywhere; unfortunately it didn't, and all that potential didn't come to fruition. The book is rushed and disjointed, the characters are not developed and the storyline is pactically incoherent. I don't like giving poor reviews as I would hate to be the author reading this, but equally, I would hate t ...more

Dr. Mary Crawford, a psychotherapist, has a successful practice devoting her life to helping addicts overcome their addictions. She also specializes in suicide prevention.

She usually conducts group therapies. In this way, she shows those that there are others like them in trouble just as they are.

An inappropriate relationship with a young patient of hers prevents her from helping another patient, a young girl, that is in the realms of suicide. The father becomes irate, to say the least, and is
