Playing For Love (Playing For #2)

WARNING: THIS IS AN EROTIC NOVEL. If you do NOT like Dominant, Possessive, very Alpha-males, Playing For Love is not for you.

David Taylor is the most possessive, dominant man I have ever met. Technically he's my stalker. He is bossy, needy, nasty and devastatingly sweet. He's everything I need him to be. And I'm completely in love with him.

Austin James is mine.

So this book was VERY challenging for me to write. AND I knew a lot of people would NOT like it.
The first book was their meeting and they were still hiding so much from each other, so this book had to deal with the reality of their choice-two very damaged people with very unique needs jumping into a relationship.
It's not pretty, it's not always happy. But it is very real and honest.
They try to deal with their issues the best they can. Sometimes their best is not good enough.

I never thought I'd utter these words about any H. But David Taylor was too possessive.

I was really struggling to finish this, the first book really left an impression on me so I'm disappointed to say this was not a winner. There wasn't really any plot except a bunch of sex mixed with lots of ex boyfriend/girlfriend drama.

What really turned me off this story was how much of a bitch Austin was. She was very mean to David in my opinion, and even admitted to herself t

Ever read a book and wonder that there might be some underlying issue in your psyche that would explain your enjoyment of that story? Because on a technical reality viewpoint this was the perfect example of over the top Co dependency at its finest. Do I care? Absolutely negative. I love everything about David Taylor. From his overbearing, Jealous, possessive, Controlling and insecure self. To his ultra sexual personality. Stalker much? Yep but I wanted more more more. For some reason Austin and ...more

I was a fan of Playing for keeps. I couldn't wait for more David Taylor. but I'm so disappointed that I didn't love this book.

it picks up right where the last books left off. David is flying Austin off to get married a few days after meeting her. this is where my issues begin. There are parts here in the beginning where it seems Austin barely likes David, let alone loves him. She is actually quite nasty to him at times.

after they are married and get back to real life the
The H still pretty much obsessed with the h the only thing I didn't like was the excessive ow/om drama that this book has the whole book was about the drama and having sex the only way that they could communicate was through sex both of them insecure possesive I thought it was too much don't get me wrong I love when the H is possesive about the h but this H didn't even wanted to let the h go to places by herself. And the damn h she was giving me whiplash with being upset about him checking her p ...more

I think this story is unique in its way. Sometimes, it was awkwardly much but also was very amusing.
In this genre, this book was the perfect one.

Okay, in my opinion, it was a little prolongated. Halfway, I got bored with them but the sad thing is: I had a really great time with this abnormal duo.
I still don’t like Austin – I don’t really know exactly why. But as for me, David was the fun fact of this story. He’s really unbelievable.

It was a little bit disturbing that they operated with sex. I d
I loved the book and this is no surprise. J.C. Grant is the epitome of talent in writing about OTT Alpha Male books. She does not limit her OTT Alpha Males with status quo, she goes beyond, creates intense characters, and I must admit sex scenes were much better in this second book. But she has to write more, we need our fix! Looking forward to the third book.

Ever since that fateful day I stumbled upon Playing for Keeps (Book 1) on NetGalley I have been nothing short of obsessed with the intense love affair between David Taylor and Austin James. I silently stalked the author's social media, waiting for the sequel. As release day neared, I grew more and more impatient... entering giveaways for free copies of ARCs, signing up for the blog tour.. anything and everything to get my hands on the earliest possible copy of this book - Playing for Love, she w ...more

Ok so its more like three and a half stars. But let me say that's mostly because of my love for the first book and the fact that the sex scenes *even if there area million* are still hottttt every time.
I loved the first book. Loved the insta love. LOVED David and all things obsessive. So what's my problem with this book?

She was too damn annoying in this book. I get that she had issues and in the first books those issues made sense in her actions. But this book is literally a back and f

"It scares me sometimes." His voice was a guttural rasp. "How much I love you. How much I need you. When you're not with me, I feel like I can't breathe."

Well I think I can't say anything that I haven't said on my review of the first book. This book is more or less, has the same tone as the first one. We have tons of steamy scenes, David is just as possessive as he was in the first book, if not even more. I still think their relationship is unhealthy and fucked and well, they're both still

Okay.. I'll be anxiously anticipating book three because here I was, happily turning pages, waiting for what was next, and, BAM! Story ends. I have so many questions, and so much has yet to happen. I not only want but NEED.. desperately NEED more of these two asap.

Don't get me wrong. They're both massively screwed up characters and I'm not even going to pretend to understand their logic and head space, because I honestly didn't, but I knew they had this instant connection and could work through

Austin James is mine.
Mine to take care of.
Mine to protect.
Mine to spoil.

OTT ALPHA DAVID TAYLOR is back. Just when their erotic love story was speed-fast and over the top insta-love, sexy and possessive... J.C. turned this into a series. I loved PLAYING FOR KEEPS and didn't think she could top my ORIGINAL Stalker...I'm wrong. The possession David has over Austin is very over the top and I love it. This relationship is exactly what Austin needs. What Davi
I rarely write a review I give it the stars I think it deserves and that's it so for me to say something I had to really love it or had a problem with it.
So here I go the drama in the book was over the top for me I actually had to stop reading it and went back to it weeks later so I could finish it and not give up. Austin way to much of a bitch she did get better towards the end but the damage was done she killed it for me . I love David hell I want a David he's over the top sweet I felt so bad

David Taylor is my God and I will pray to him every day!!! Austin on the other hand...I really had a hard time liking her. Yes she had her issues the same as David but hers made her into kind of a bitch. I will be patiently waiting for the third book!!!!!

We asked, we begged, we pleaded... And J.C. Grant most definitely delivered and served more of our sexy stalker on a diamond-studded silver platter. Because holy sexgods on freaking fire, we can never get enough of DAVID TAYLOR. I was soooo fired up right at the very beginning. This version of David and Austin will stretch you to limits you couldn't even imagine. Right off the bat, I already started questioning myself, “how can these two make something like this so intensely erotic and not gross ...more

I was lucky enough to get an ARC from the author and read it a week before everyone else. I've been not so patiently waiting for this book since I finished the first. It starts right where we left off in Playing For Keeps with David and Austin planning a quickie wedding. I devoured it as fast as I possibly could and hated when it ended. I don't want to give anything away so all I'll say is PFL is full of non stop drama! Past relationships come back to haunt both David and Austin and they struggl ...more

Crazypants Austin

So, in the first book David was acting crazy...This book it's Austin. However, it went way overboard this time where I found myself more annoyed than intrigued. Austin was just an immature, neurotic witch and I found it hard to buy into their connection. The intense connection was lost behind her overdramatic character.

Not too sure if I'm moving on to the next book.

What the heck did I just read?? Ok so This book sucked me in... These two are seriously f*#ked up! However I found myself routing for them... This is the second book and it doesn't end on a cliff but it does end with questions ... These two characters drove me crazy! They fight and they F*#£ rinse and repeat with new crazy variables... it's a train wreck I couldn't help but read! David is great, I think I really love his neurosis. Austin, not so much... Well....This one was more dramatic than the first book. The first book was dramatic enough, this one bordered vomit inducing YA (this is MY OPINION, I don't like YA!)...Heroine was just an eyesore, getting mad at every little thing. She was insecure and punished Hero for it.

But just when I decided to DNF this... David goes

OH MY GOSH, what a roller coaster of emotional book this was. David and Austin were inseparable. A very hot couple. David was very insecure and I hated how he always needed to be around Austin, that would drive me nuts. Austin on the other hand, was so freaking annoying, at times I just wanted to throw my phone to the wall, she was testing my patience. Both of them with their issues, I liked David more at the end, he always looked after her more than she did with him. But now the author has left ...more

This was the crazy train and I had to get off!! Perhaps I did not recognize it in book 1, but for sure, in this book it became clear to me that both David and Austin had mental issues. I could not take another second of being inside either of their heads with the negative self-talk. This is a couple I could not root for. I did not enjoy or could finish reading about two people who clearly needed a therapist. Good writing, I just did not care for the characters.
