Jason escapes into the magic of a Broadway play every weekend. Musicals always have a happy ending and for a few hours he can believe there’s a happy ending waiting for him, too. When the tall drink of water who works on the top floor of Jason’s building, wants to take him on a date, Jason is surprised. After all, Jason is awkward and skinny, and sees himself as a boring a ...more

Sweet and cute

My goodness, I love this mismatched couple. Sometimes you just need low angst book like this one. That can guarantee you an HEA.

I’ve wanted to read an R.J. Jones story for months now, but according to the reviews this author is the new bringer-of-angst and I’ll admit, I was more than a little wary. I’m not a huge angst fan, so when I heard about these light and happy tales by Ms. Jones I was eager to finally sample some of her writing. I wasn’t disappointed.

Geeky, unassuming, unlucky in-love Jason doesn’t understand why the ridiculously attractive Paul seems to be interested in him. After all, he’s nothing but a boring a

I don't give five stars to novella's but this came very close!

I loved the characthers, the banter, the humour mixed in and especially the ending ❤️

Jason is an accountant that works on the 3rd floor of the building his space is a small dull cubicle. Outside work he loves musicals, as in musicals there's generally a happy ending so deep down Jason is a romantic, wondering if he'll ever meet Mr right.

Paul, works near the top of the building, his been trying to get Jason to notice him to

This is very entertaining, light, sweet and full of 'GREASE' memories.
Paul and Jason reminds me a lot like Zach and Sean in Going Up by Amy Lane. So much fun !
The One that I want and Devoted to You are two of my favorite song , even until now.
Very well done R.J. Jones/

R.J. Jones, how much do I love thee? Lots! This book was short and sweet and left me wanting more. I must admit, however, that I was peeved at Paul. That sh*t don't fly with me! I understand why he did it but it still pisses me off. (Read: there was not enough NO groveling. WTF?!?!)

Bottom line: Gimme, gimme, gimme book 2! *pre-ordered*

Joint review for books one and two.

Review: These were super cute, super fast, and super short stories that developed quickly and moved along at a rapid, but totally fun and entertaining pace. The titles, as you’ve probably guessed, are based on the songs from the musical Grease.

Jason and Paul are complete opposites…in almost every way, but they are truly so complimentary and perfect together. Jason is an insecure, goofball accountant who loves musicals. Paul is the gorgeous guy

The One That I Want & Hopelessly Devoted To You by RJ Jones is a series that I read and read and then read again. Yes, it is one of those things which automatically become a favorite read, especially since singing in my mind are two of favorite songs from a favorite play made into a movie s

To be honest, it was such an enjoyable read, I almost didn’t notice when I’d reached the end and then went, “That’s all of it?” They dance to their own tunes, bend their own rules for each other and tried to hold on to their secrets with all they had. I loved the two main characters, Jason and Paul; also how they danced around each other shrouded in their own insecurities.

A very happy-making tale, aided by amazing audio-visuals and a determined cat. I’m sure there will be more than one humming t

You’re the one that I want. Oo Oo Oo honey. Warning: You must love Grease to continue. The One That I Want is a short story written by R.J. Jones that combines my love of m/m with my love of musicals.

Jason is a lowly accountant who moved to the city after his parents threw him out of their house for being gay. He’s a loner but loves his musicals. Every Saturday night he ventures to Broadway and at work he keeps up to date with a copy of Encore magazine

Jason always considered himself boring, regular looking, skinny, not worth of a second glance… or so he thought…

When he find himself accosted by the tall, gorgeous guy on his work’s place elevator, he thought that it must be a mistake or the guy felt sorry for him.

Meeting Paul where he least expected – on a Broadway play – makes him decide to give Paul a chance… after all, he had nothing to lose besides his heart!

It’s so cute to see how far Paul will go

So I started reading this and quite a ways in I kept thinking, this sounds so familiar. I've read this story before. I went back and checked and, no I didn't have a review for this. As I was about to ask my co-blogger if I was crazy, it hit me. I read this as part of the anthology, Encore. I reread it again, but my original review is below.

Jason is an average accountant. He runs in

This is one I couldn’t decide whether I really liked it or was really irritated by one of the main characters. Paul and Jason work in the same building and see each other by the elevators. When Paul finally makes a move, Jason doesn’t know what to do about it – this guy is way out of his league! But date they do, except there are some red flags Paul keeps throwing. Definitely hiding something or else something’s going on. So while I loved Jason and his pee-in-your-shoes cat, Dave, I was less ena ...more

Jason can't figure out what Paul, such a handsome man in nice fitting business suits, would want with a skinny plain accountant. Jason starts taking the stairs to avoid him only to one day run into him. Paul is persistent and finally they go to A broadway show and start having lunch almost every day. Jason is sure its too good to be true ad as soon as he sleeps with the sexy man he will leave him broken hearted like all before him.

This is such a fun, short story to read. I laughed till I cried.

Jason is secretly (he thinks) crushing on tall, dark, and handsome who often shares his elevator ride to work. When Jason realizes that Paul might find out the depth of Jason’s feelings, Jason becomes embarrassed and starts taking the stairs. As does Paul. And so it goes until Paul finally shows Jason that he doesn’t have to keep his admiration of Paul a secret. The title may make you think of the musical Grease, and that’s as it should be, because the main male characters of that play feature p ...more

Sweet super cute novella!

I loved the witty banter, the references to Grease, and Dave the cat.

Jason, the geeky accountant attracts the attention of Paul, the suave executive everyday while waiting for the elevator to his office. After a collision on the stairs the two get to know each other over Broadway plays and lunches and the cafe across the street. Jason, never being lucky in love is sure this will end just like all his past "relationships" have, a night of sex and an "I'll call you" as th

This is an adorable short and sickly sweet story of a musical loving accountant, who leads a less than exciting life, and his admiring stalker. A good start to my 2016 reading list.
