E.D.G.E. Security is a covert international organization that handles jobs most governments won’t. The operators are the elite of the elite, soldiers and spies, chosen for their skills and secrecy, and their ability to go beyond the edge. Plagued with nightmares since her return from Iraq, Alyssa Harrison must keep her PTSD hidden. As a detective for the elite Counter-terrorism Bureau of the NYPD, she’s determined to keep her city safe. But now an elusive bomber is threatening New York and a military consultant is assigned to work with her. It doesn’t matter how sexy he is, she won’t let herself get close because she can’t let anyone know how broken she is.
As a special operations soldier with E.D.G.E. Security, Zach ‘Doc’ Grayson is used to putting the needs of those he protects over and above his own. So when the terrorist he’s tracking has plans for New York City, Zach has no choice but to follow. There, he meets a fiery detective who rebuffs his protection and challenges him at every turn, sparking his interest. But Zach fights the attraction, he’s on a mission and nothing will distract him.
The case takes Alyssa from New York’s grungiest subways to its most glittering galas and through it all Zach is beside her whether she wants him to be or not. Will their explosive attraction make everything fall apart or can they work together to save the city from the edge of danger?
Another amazing book in this series. I cannot stop reading them. With all the excitement you don't really think about the romantic part of the story until you turn the page and there's all this chemistry and protectiveness between the characters.
Alyssa and Zach both have it out for one certain terrorist and will do anything to capture and more likely kill him. They find any and all evidence leading them to discover who the person really is but keeps getting stumped and stay one step behind the whole way. When they believe they have it figured out, they realize how wrong they are. Alyssa is suffering from PTSD and has episodes where she freezes up and Zach, "doc", helps to bring her out of her flashbacks each time. It takes a while to relive that they have feelings for each other, but their chemistry is explosive, as well as all the bombs that are being planted around them. They are the targets for this psychotic terrorist and it ends up being the least expected person.
Doc and Spooky end up traveling to work their continuing case searching for a tourist operating on US soil. Doc ( Zach) ends up partnered with Alyssa, Jake's (from book one) little sister. From the beginning, Alyssa is prickly and hard to get to know. Zach likes her anyway because she is spunky and is one of few women to look past his large size and dark skin to see a man not as scary as he appears. Zach notices right off the bat that Alyssa is hiding something. It soon becomes evident she is suffering from PTSD. She is determined to catch the terrorist, but her symptoms are becoming problematic. Zach is the only thing keeping her from a complete breakdown, but he won't hide her symptoms forever. When it becomes clear Zach might be one of the terrorists primary targets, he will need Alyssa, but can he trust her?
I am totally enjoying this series and can't wait for the next installment!
I loved the third Edge book. There was constantly action, suspense, and romance thrown in. I think it was very intelligently written and brought up many current topics. I can't wait for book 4
Love this series. There is so much suspense and action and mystery. Doc and Alyssa's budding relationship was a slow burn and nearly snuffed out. The plot was great, and revealing the identity of their target was a surprise. Dealing with PTSD and veteran's issues was an important subplot. All military/romance fans will enjoy this one.
I just love this series for books. So far every one has been a real page turner, with strong alpha characters, lots of action and suspense. This book deals with PTSD so might trigger some readers but it is handled sensitively. It's a gripping story and I can't wait for the next in the series.
Nonstop action is pervasive in this black ops romantic-suspense story. The plot was interesting as well as entertaining. While there is romance, there are not a lot of passionate scenes. I liked the main characters, Zach and Alyssa (yet another strong female lead character in this series).
Another great book. Sadly what you write about happens for real. You make it entertaining to read about. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
As good as this series was when it began, it just keeps getting better. I loved this book, the story of EDGE operator and field medic Sgt Zachary "Doc" Grayson and Jake's little sister, NYPD detective Alyssa Harrison, part of the PD's Counterterrorism Bureau. They meet when Zach is sent to help the team Alyssa has been charged with forming to hunt an international terrorist reported to be in NYC. Immediately the FBI steps in and takes over, but Alyssa and Zach quickly learn they both have first hand knowledge of the bomb maker. As they get to know each other better, she calls him out on his need to help others. And he calls her out on her PTSD. But the bomber calls them both out, with very personalized, and dangerous, messages.
Best of the series so far, in my opinion. E.D.G.E has sent two agents to New York to work on a task force hunting an Islamic terrorist. For both member of the task force Alyssa Harrison and for Zach (Doc) Grayson, the mission is personal.
When they meet, there is an incredible spark, regardless of the fact that Alyssa is Jake's (College) sister. The mission is tangled and difficult, and Alyssa has some serious PTSD issues that she refuses to acknowledge. Good one. Kudos to Loye for tackling a big taboo: white woman-black man relationship.

4.5 stars! I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I read the first two books in the EDGE series, but to be honest I don't remember much about them. While earlier characters to pop up in this story, it certainly stands alone.
Both Alyssa and Zach are great characters! Their military history adds a lot to the story, and the PTSD element was handled well. There was a lot of action and suspense in this story, which kept me on the edge of my seat! I was a tad disappointed in the ending though. It seemed a bit abrupt, and I would have loved just a bit more.
Another good book in this series. I'm still favouring Rhys book 2 over this book with Zach. If you haven't read previous 2 books it's not a disaster as the stories don't follow on from each other per se, However if u have the option deffo start from the beginning as the characters all do interlink and are fab! This is much more a detective who done it rather than a full on military ´who done it - with a little bit of romance thrown in.
These characters are who we want to be protecting us from terrorism. They're smart, and brave, and do not give up. I really appreciate Alyssa's drive and pure will to get through the day fighting her PTSD and crime. The storyline keeps you turning the pages as fast as you can, and their chemistry sizzles.
This series has it all! Adrenaline rush, chaos, bad people, good guys, Hot men and bad ass women . Zach and Alyssa are sizzling loved there story and characters. I can't wait for the next E.D.G.E book
Edge of Danger was another exciting read. I love the Edge Security Series. I'm glad that these books can be read as standalone books, there are no cliffhangers at the end. Looking forward to the next book!
This next installment in the edge series has to do with Doc and Jake's sister, Alyssa. The two meet trying to catch a terrorist they both have a past with. The book is full of action, mystery and a bit of romance.
I thought this was the best of the EDGE series so far..
Lots of action, lots of danger and smart characters. The Feeb was weak, but not the evil person he seemed at first, just arrogant and a bit misogynistic.
ARC review For honest honest. While Alyssa and Zack are trying to hunt down a terrorist with other branches of their teams .They are trying to make a relationship work. This was a great story with lots of action and twists.
