When Tanya Todd returns to Templeton Cove, she knows better than to expect a warm welcome. She burned a few bridges on her way out of town, and making amends won't be easy. First on her list is the man whose heart she carelessly shattered, Liam Browne.
Seeing the successful criminal lawyer after all these years, Tanya is interested in more than just Liam's forgiveness. As they work together to bring the man who hurt her sister to justice, the attraction between them sizzles. Suddenly Tanya's second chance could include a future with Liam…if she can prove she's changed.

What can I say? I’m sure a super fangirl of my English Rose. She could rewrite the phone book and I’d read it. :) Of course, I’ve been reading her since she started her writing career with The Wild Rose Press. But let’s do the review, shall we?
I honestly don’t know where to start with the review. I loved the book and there were bits that I didn’t love. I know, that’s so weird for me in reading Ms. Brimble. While I loved Liam and Tanya, I felt like parts of the book were left sorta hanging in the wind. I would have liked more involvement from John (who inherited Funland) and his perspective about trying to finally find who hurt Sasha after all those years ago. Yes, it’s explained in their book but I would have liked more supportive from him in this one. I would suggest that you read What Belongs to Her featuring Sasha and John before reading this one. You might get a better understanding of where Tanya and Liam are coming from in this book.
Don’t get me wrong. Ms. Brimble explains, effortlessly, the back story of Sasha’s story and ultimately Tanya’s story here but you would remiss to not read it. It’s an awesome book and shows how true love can change a person…for the good. Plus, come on…its my English Rose. Plus, we get Jay and Cat in that book, too. Which leads me to Jay and Cat. They set the series in the first book and show up again in this one. Cat is such a badass and Jay is a great sounding board for Liam. He sees right through Liam and takes him task.
Tanya is such a well-rounded heroine. She has problems that are NOT skirted over. Ms. Brimble does a great job in dealing with her anxiety issues and how she copes with them, or maybe doesn’t cope. Having Lucy around as her assistant is brilliant. Hopefully, Lucy will get a story in the near future. I truly liked her and felt like she had more to say. I will have to say that I didn’t like Marion in this one. Every town needs a busybody and matchmaker but in this one, she just kinda grated on my nerves. She needed to butt out and leave Liam and Tanya alone to figure it out all by themselves (which eventually she did).
Liam was a great hero for Tanya. He called her out when needed and loved her when she needed or at times, didn’t feel like she deserved it. I particularly liked how he dealt with Abe at the fair. I couldn’t decide whether to giggle or applaud. Plus, he can take me on a desk anytime.
Tanya Todd makes a return to Templeton Cove, after leaving without a word and the first thing she wishes to do is make amends to those she hurt especially Liam Browne a successful criminal lawyer.
Tanya and Liam are both equally amazing characters. Reading about them coming together to get justice for her baby sister was amazing. I really enjoyed reading the emotional scenes the most, where she would open up and tell him more about herself and her struggles.
This was truly one of the most enjoyable books I've read. I would most definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relationship drama kinda book or any kind of book to be honest, it's definitely a fun read.

Everyone has things in their past that they regret, things they'd give anything to change, but not everyone gets the chance to make amends and change the lives of people they know and love. Tanya Todd is one of the lucky ones. After an absence of seven years, she returns to Templeton Cove with an ambitious agenda.
First, she wants to find the man who abused her sister and bring him to justice, and second, she wants to make up for the w she treated years earlier when she was blinded by ambition, arrogance, and her mother. She'd especially like to earn the forgiveness of Liam Browne. They were engaged seven years ago, and she left him without a word, only a note stuck under his door.
Liam doesn't trust her, but will that change as Tanya makes her home in Templeton Cove?
This was a nice romance. I liked both of the main characters, especially the heroine who had so many regrets to overcome. Both the hero and heroine were likable and I wanted things to turn out well for them.
The author painted a beautiful picture of life in a seaside resort town in England. I wouldn't mind visiting a place like that myself, but I don't want to run into some of the things that happened in the story.
It's a nice read with an ending that I liked. I can recommend it to you without reservation.
Ok so before we start let me make a confession. When I was at school I subscribed to Mills and Boon. When I first joined, the membership gift was a lovely Mills & Boon tote bag! People laughed at me but I craved stories of romance and being swept off my feet and whilst at times pretty corny, Mills and Boon always delivered! Thankfully times have moved on and the stories are not corny at all. They are in fact pretty amazing if Her Hometown Redemption is anything to go by!
What a great story and I wish I had read the other books in the series. That being said, Her Hometown Redemption was easily read as a standalone as there was enough information about the characters and their back stories to know exactly what was going on. Rachel Brimble has produced a really well written and engaging book that was easy to read and very enjoyable. The writing style flowed and at times the sexual tension between Tanya and Liam positively jumped off the page!
When Tanya returns to Templeton Cove she is faced with a huge hurdle.............proving she has changed. Tanya is no longer the woman she once was and that will be difficult to prove to a community that she hurt. Tanya is no longer strong, direct and a go-getter. She is vulnerable now and broken a little bit. Liam finds it difficult to keep her at arms length and his heart ultimately rules his head. Thank goodness! I loved this character. We should all have a little Liam in our lives! There are so many great characters who add so much to the book - Marian and Lucy to name a few.
Tanya is back in the Cove not only to rebuild her life after it so cruelly fell apart, but she is also on a man hunt to track down someone who hurt her sister..........badly. Justice must be served and this adds a further frisson of excitement to the story. But, will love be enough to overcome all and rebuild her life. Tanya has a struggle ahead of her but perhaps the biggest struggle is the one Tanya and Liam have together..........trying to keep their hands off each other. Neither one can afford more heartache. A really good read!
**I was gifted a free copy of this book as part of a blog tour**
Like a lot of people, I can remember the older generation of my family all owning Mills & Boon books, and I must admit, I’ve never been a fan. On receiving the book and then the realisation that this was part of the collection, I will admit my heart sank a little.
They say you should ‘never judge a book by it’s cover’. So I tried to think positively, but then I was dealt another blow. This is number 5 in a series that I hadn’t even heard of, never mind read the other books. Unsure as to how I would get through the book, I braced myself, ready to struggle through.
Now I am the first to admit when I am wrong, and my initial scepticism about this book was very wrong. Not only did I become hooked right from the first page, I found myself enjoying it; me, enjoying a Mills & Boon book, who would of thought! I also found the plot easy to follow as Rachel Brimble does give us some insight into the past, so I didn’t necessarily need to have read the other books in the series.
The plot was engrossing. I loved that the sweetness and joy of a romance book has been given an edgy and more 2015 makeover, with the undertone of a tragic and horrific crime committed years ago, and one woman’s quest to bring the culprit to justice.
For me, Tanya’s character bounced off the pages. I loved her upbeat attitude, even if I did know that it was mostly a front, and inside she was trying to hold herself together. For a woman to face a whole town of people who detest her, especially after the horrendous 8 years that she has had whilst she was away, showed how far she had come on her journey to ‘find herself’.
The first meeting with her ex, Liam, was a bit more subdued that I predicted would happen, but then Liam is a lovely sweet man who has spent 8 years trying to get his life back, and learn to trust and love again. Just when he feels that he has made progress, bang, in walks a blast from the past.
The two of them, you realise very quickly are perfect for one another, and you just hope that they can find a way to put the past behind them and start again, but with both having trust issues, Liam with Tanya and Tanya with herself, the road to happiness isn’t going to be straight forward.
The book is an amazing and engaging book, with a complex storyline. Add to that, well developed characters and lots of individual secondary characters, set in a beautiful backdrop and you have the perfect combination for a real page turner of a book.
My review originally posted on Romancing-the-Book.com is below:
This was a quick read with lots of intrigue and suspense along with a second chance at love and lots of trust issues. Tanya and Liam were a couple eight years ago before Tanya ran away from their small town of Templeton Cove looking for more. She never looked back and never told Liam she was leaving and why. Now she's returned to put closure to a horrible time in her sister's life that happened many years ago and be there for her now since she wasn't back then. Tanya knew it would be difficult but didn't know just how difficult it would be. She runs into Liam her first day and they both recoiled from their meeting especially since he had no warning she had returned. Watching them take one step forward and two steps back throughout was heart-wrenching especially since neither of them thought being together again was a good idea, or did they?
The descriptions of the scenery as well as the homes and the town were vivid and made me feel that I was there. There were secrets, businesses to run, townspeople both new and old, friends, family, forgiveness, memories, sadness, fear, mysteriousness, Funland, tears, hurt, happiness and love. There was some closure and a happily ever after in the offing but an epilogue would have been nice to tie up all the loose ends.
I have only read a couple of books by Brimble before but looking forward to reading others especially the first four books in the Templeton Cove series.
I'm always thrilled to read a Superromance by an English author, especially when its the latest in a series. I adore The Templeton Cove books and for me each one is a real treat.
I won't give out any plotlines because each reader finds something unique as they read. The storyline flows effortlessly drawing the reader in from the first chapter. Hint...I'd have a pot of tea handy because I could NOT put this down. This is a perfectly balanced book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it and sad that it ended, which is what a great book should be.
Liam and Tanya's romance was uplifting yet poignant in parts. Rachel's characters are well rounded and three-dimensional so that the reader does get a chance to connect and relate to them.
Brilliantly written, and thanks to Brook Cottage Books for the ARC and including me on the tour.
Never having read any of Rachel Brimble's books before I was not sure what to expect, this is the fifth book in the Templeton Cove series but you can read it as a standalone. I am definitely wanting to read the other books though as I want to find out all about their pasts as it would help me understand a few things in this book. I loved the way Rachel the author brings true life issues in to her book, she is so descriptive but on the other hand very sensitive and sympathetic. It is a slow paced book but I think you need that with some of the issues that are in it. I found this book utterly absorbing, one that will stay with me.
I remember checking out Harlequin many years ago and deciding it wasn't for me. However, when this tour was announced I decided I would like to see whether things had changed. Well time has moved on and yes, they definitely have- and for the better. I really enjoyed Her Hometown Redemption. Tanya has returned to the coastal town of Templeton, a place she left eight years ago. Back then she was ambitious and influenced by her mother to such an extent that she also abandoned Liam, the man she loved. But things haven't worked out the way she planned and she's now back to try and start a new life. And there is also something else she has to do: find the man who molested her younger sister and bring him to justice. Meeting Liam again Tanya realises the feelings they had for each other are still simmering beneath the surface. Liam feels the same way but is not about to get hurt again. Offering to help her track down the man who abused her sister, they are constantly thrown into each other's company. As emotions flare between them once more, can they put the past behind them and begin again or is it too late?
A lovely romantic story with believable and well rounded characters. I loved Liam's strength...and he also had a lot of patience. Tanya was a strange mixture of vulnerable and tough with a need to prove she wasn't the woman who had left all those years ago and that she was deserving of Liam's love.
If there was one slight niggle I had about this book - and it has nothing to do with the author or the quality of the writing - it's the Americanisation of the English language in it. This is a purely personal thing and although it did slightly spoil the read for me, it in no way affected my final star rating.
I would like to thank the author for donating a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I was introduced to Rachel Brimble’s books last year and have quickly become a fan of this lovely writer from across the pond. Her Hometown Redemption is book 5 in the Templeton Cove series. While this book can certainly be read stand-alone, I would recommend reading the earlier installments if you want to better understand some of the motivations of the main characters.
Tanya couldn’t escape from Templeton Cove fast enough when she left Liam and her mother and sister behind. Now, she is returning back to the Cove damaged and in need of a fresh start. She is there to open a party planning business, hoping that the people will give her a second chance and forgive her for the way that she left. Liam’s heart was broken when Tanya left, but he can’t help the feelings that resurface and draw him back to her, even though he originally tries to fight it. As they work together to find her sister’s attacker so that Tanya can help her sister Sasha get closure, Liam and Tanya realize that their feelings are growing into something stronger and more mature than the first time around.
Her Hometown Redemption may be my favorite Templeton Cove book to date. I absolutely loved this second-chance story and it hits on all emotional cylinders. One of my favorite things about Rachel Brimble’s writing is that there are no perfect characters. They are full of flaws and insecurities, just like the rest of us. The characters are complex and the issues they face are realistic. Her books are romantic, yet believable.
This novel is a perfect combination of complex topics, old school long term romance relived, and intrigue. Throughout the novella we see Liam and Tanya learn and grow within themselves and overcome each others struggles in life. This novella speaks of hope, trust, unconditional love and overcoming awful circumstances. Liam is a lawyer who fell deep in love with Tanya his earlier love, who fled Templeton Cove when she was younger in search of her riches in business. Tanya suffered some missteps in her financial career and decides to go back to Templeton Cove in the hopes of helping her sister find some peace, and to find a fresh start for herself. Running into Liam the first night back in Templeton Cove doesn't sit well with her. They learn to lean onto each other again and rebuild trust while working together. Another enjoyable novel from Rachel Brimble. This is book 5 of 8 in the Templeton Cove series.
A truly delightful read full of romance and beautiful happiness! This author is so brilliant she could write a dictionary and I would still walk away in awe! I loved the characters and the emotion oh my gosh the emotion was so electric and overwhelming that I had various emotions running through me and if I did not have the end of the book to get to I would have most likely gone nuts with not knowing what to do with the feelings.
It was a fun, flirty kind of read but with drama, and the very best kind of drama, you know the kind that leaves you drained but in a good way! Rachel Brimble is a diamond in the romance writing world, one that I truly know will never lose her sparkle!
One of the Templeton Cove stories, it focuses on Tanya Todd, who's been encouraged to go home to deal with past issues she has yet to tell others about, particularly her former love, Liam Browne, now an attorney. When she tells him she's out to bring to justice the man who sexually assaulted her sister, Liam agrees to help her, but is certain she isn't being entirely truthful with him about why she's come home to open a party planning business. He also doubts she'll stay.
The remaining story revolves around how she gradually convinces herself that staying is what she truly wants to do, and that her new life might just include Liam again. But will he agree to that? In some ways, his concerns about her are a bigger impediment than her own fears and how they each begin to deal with them.
I’ve long been a fan of Harlequin’s Superromance line. The stories are carefully crafted, usually with a strong moral theme, and a broader depth of character and setting. Rachel does a commendable job touching all of these bases in Her Hometown Redemption.
Tanya, the heroine, has enough emotional baggage to stoop the broadest of shoulders. While I didn’t always connect with her, I did admire her strength in returning to her hometown to try and correct old wrongs.
I liked Liam from the start. Here’s a guy who’s never forgotten the one who got away, and though he tries to keep his distance the second time around, falls just as deeply in love as before.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who dreams of getting that second chance at love and redeeming past mistakes.

I did find this book enjoyable for the first 40% of it. After that, it started to become a headache and a chore to read. The characters were weak and not convincing at all. It was annoying how their love affaire was off-on-off-on-off-on. They were constantly going back and forth, to the point where I wanted to hurl this book across the room in hatred. You know how you have that one nauseating boyfriend-girlfriend on Facebook, where they can't seem to make up their minds about each other? Where they are constantly updating their status' about how they are "in love" and then at each other's throats, hating one another in a blink of an eye, then are back together. That is how this entire book came to be. Their whole relationship felt like this immature, inexperienced teenage love affaire that would never come to the finish decision. The only reason why I ended up finishing it was because I was curious on how it was going to end for the pedophile (which the ending was not worth the wait; it was a huge disappointment). This book could've easily been better and wound up being a huge disappointment for me.

I have only read a couple of books by Brimble before but looking forward to reading others especially the first four books in the Templeton Cove series.
Rachel Brimble paints a realistic and in-depth character study of a woman in search of true happiness. Tanya Todd returns to Templeton Cove after 8 years. She hopes it won’t be too painful, as she didn’t leave many friends: she was determined to make it as a banker in the city, she didn’t care whom she hurt along the way; she despised her small town, mostly thanks to her mother. She also broke Liam Browne’s heart, who loved her dearly, when she left with only a note saying goodbye. But Tanya’s boundless ambition was also the cause of her fall from grace, and it is with her tail between her legs that she comes back home, in hope of making a new start. She has changed, and so has Liam, whom she sees almost right away. But the main purpose of Tanya’s return is really to right a dreadful wrong, for which she still feels guilty: her sister Sasha was molested years ago and Tanya is bent on making the culprit pay, and Liam can help her.
HER HOMETOWN REDEMPTION is different from most novels dealing with this sort of subject, as Tanya seriously messed up, and she definitely was not a nice person. She has not fully recovered from her ordeal, and she still has some issues to settle. Liam doesn’t feel Tanya is to be trusted, he is not the doormat he was years ago, although he still loves her. Ms. Brimble carefully describes Tanya’s difficult road to recovery, nothing is instantaneous, and I really liked that, it felt real. In fact, a feeling of authenticity permeates HER HOMETOWN REDEMPTION: the characters all seem genuine, and the dialogues are brilliant in their sparseness; this is how people really talk to each other. HER HOMETOWN REDEMPTION is rather slow-paced, this is the type of story which should not be rushed, but I think it could have been a tad quicker, and there was one issue I felt was dispatched a bit too abruptly, as it is something that would have mattered to Liam, in my opinion. HER HOMETOWN REDEMPTION is an absorbing, and realistic tale of a woman who has made mistakes, and really tries to become a better person.
