Mortimer Zhu is an extremely unfortunate high school student who accidentally enrolls into an academy of a dubious nature, where it is the norm to jump in front of moving trains, get dismembered during orientation, and crushed by vindictive bouncing classrooms. Can he stay alive or will he die from the rigors of school? Why have evil spirits suddenly acquired a taste for his flesh?
I like the world setting and the characters (such a wide range of characters since this is based on a school setting).
This is a first person POV so it's a bit confusing at the beginning since the main character has no idea what is going on and that's understandable. It's interesting enough for me to continue reading~
I read the English translation, plan to start reading it in Chinese since the translations have stopped since 2015 ):
Actually read this in 2012 but shall just write the review now. Must say is my all time favourite Chinese series. No romance, a pure fantasy school series with an excellent cast. The character growth is very, very slow but really realistic seeing as the main character is a totally normal human being at the start of this story. He goes head in into this new world, learning everything from scratch and we get to see everything for the first time alongside with him. I love the character dynamics, the humour and the mystery. There's something more to the main character and boy it gets really big just in book 2. The plot continues to build all the way and I'm still reading till this day.
