Fancy recipes, delicious pictures & good step-by-step instructions. They sure liked their raw or puréed fish and anchovies back then!

Parslied crab with hard-cooked eggs? Greek style caviar spread (Taramasalata)? Fish tartare? This is great to look at for party/snack food but those are puzzlers. Feels the most from bygone days.

Netgalley review, although I have pre-ordered this.

Oh so deliciously good. SPOILERS. It takes way too long for Warden to come back into the picture but eventually he does. I do find all of the different types of specialties of supernatural people to be a bit confusing. I wonder if its because maybe of British terminology? I dont know. Paige is entering the competition to be the Underqueen. I so did not see that coming!!! You can take a guess as to whether she wins it or not. Overall a very good second book, but I enjoyed the first one more. I will definitely continue to read the series. I totally want to see what happend ne and it will probably be a long wait.

This short text is well illustrated and offers sensible directions (in excess of those offered by many other similar books on hors d'oeuvres). The recipe authors, the Scotto Sisters, were born in Algeria and cooked in France. The recipe selection is eclectic as are the suggestions for ingredients. This is a scant but useful addition to the well-stocked culinary library.

Hors d'Oeuvres are a staple of cocktail parties or as a light non-formal meal. The recipes of this collection feature a variety of different styles. Color photographs are included.
