With nearly a million book sales, USA Today bestselling author Hallee Bridgeman writes action-packed romantic suspense focusing on realistic characters who face real-world problems. Her work has been described as everything from refreshing to heart-stopping exciting and edgy.
An Army brat turned Floridian, Hallee and her husband finally settled in central Kentucky so they could enjoy the beautiful changing of the seasons. Hallee’s oldest daughter is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, her middle son struggles as a hexagonal “autism spectrum” peg in this round world, and her youngest son fills the house with wooshes and bangs as he fights imaginary bad guys while wearing a Spiderman costume and wielding a Ninja sword.
When she’s not penning novels, you will find her in the kitchen, which she considers the ‘heart of the home’. Her passion for cooking spurred her to launch a whole food, real food “Parody” cookbook series. In addition to nutritious, Biblically grounded recipes, readers will find that each cookbook also confronts some controversial aspect of secular pop culture.
Hallee has served as the Director of the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference, President of the Faith-Hope-Love chapter of the Romance Writers of America, is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), and the American Christian Writers (ACW), and Novelists, Inc. (NINC). An accomplished speaker, Hallee has taught and inspired writers around the globe, from Sydney, Australia, to Dallas, Texas, to Portland, Oregon, to Washington, D.C., and all places in between.
Hallee loves coffee, campy action movies, and regular date nights with her husband. Above all else, she loves God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength; has been redeemed by the blood of Christ; and relies on the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide her. She prays her work here on earth is a blessing to you and would love to hear from you. You can reach Hallee at hallee@halleebridgeman.com
Every single story in this collection was amazing. Hard to say which was my favorite because they were all great. I enjoyed the introduction to a couple of new authors to me and look forward to reading whatever else they have out there. And I was not disappointed at all by those authors I've read before. Better and better!!!
Come to me Joyful: Luke and Kate are co-workers. They find themselves spending an evening together at a work convention and then spending time together after they are back home. It's a great novella story. Some happiness and cheer and good times. Really enjoyed the story.
Mistletoe and Mochas: Chelsea and Cannon were both such great characters. Loved this story of reconnecting. Lynnette Bonner did an amazing job of bringing Cannon back into Chelsea's life after they met and connected in Africa. And now they get a chance at their own happy ever after. Loved the story and everything from the humor to Cannon standing up for Chelsea against her aunt who was not a nice person. Swoon worthy romance at its best.
Christmas Star Sapphire: Maddie and Joe both came from money. While Maddie has learned to accept that she can still do things normal people do (like fly coach), Joe wants nothing to do with money. But Maddie helps him to see that there are things that can be done with money without ruining good people. Very interesting story.
A Home For Christmas: Every story I read by Kimberly Rae Jordan is so amazing. What a talented author. I always hate to see the story come to an end but enjoy knowing there will be others. This is my first Collingsworth family story, so I need to go get the rest of them read now.
This story is about forgiveness and letting the past stay in the past. Though Declan served time, for a crime he didn't know was going to happen, he's come a long way. Rose finds it easy to accept him for who he is, but he doesn't think he's worthy of her. Even his own step-brother seems to think that he's a bad guy. Rose's family are all great. I liked how her dad and uncles not only accepted Declan, but included him in things.
You'll enjoy this story if you like heart warming romance.
Christmas Bells are Ringing: Shelby and Chris meet at the coffee shop where Shelby works. Mr. Gorgeous pretty much makes Shelby lose her ability to speak or think clearly. When Chris leaves a package behind, Shelby has to work hard to try to find him again. Fun story.
Gifts of Love: Vince has been in love with Samantha for years. But he messed things up between them years ago. Since then he's tried to be there for Sam without being too pushy. Now they are working together and he volunteers them to plan the staff Christmas Party. Sam is finally able to see beyond the mistakes and realize that he's actually a pretty good catch.
Broken Holiday: A nice novella. Clay has been hiding out since his wife died. When Jade gets caught in an unexpected storm, she takes refuge in Clay's barn. Then she is injured and forced to stay with him until they can get through the snow to town. Meanwhile, her ex is spreading rumors and Clay helps her confront him.
Clay has no plans to ever fall in love and trust a woman again. Can Jade change his mind?
Good clean story.
Poles Apart: Sarah travels from South Africa to Lapland to research her next novel. It's actually more of an escape, to get away from her family and the true meaning of Christmas which she hasn't felt in quite a while.
When she meets Santa and interviews him, so feels a connection to him and decides her story will be about falling for Santa. Those blue eyes of his make her think he's much younger than she thought he would be. Then she meets Nick, her landlord during her stay in Lapland. He is always helping with things and soon she decides Nick and Santa are one and that same. Then she sees them both at the same time and she decides that's not possible.
The story was great. There were some humorous situations and some heartbreaking ones. But in the end, forgiveness is the key.
All of the stories in this collection are fantastic, I loved each and every one of them. They all showed the true meaning of Christmas and God's love all of us. They also skewed how amazing it is to love and be loved, to forgive and to find that special joy of life I will be definitely re-reading this book
For those who love a good romance and understand the true meaning of Christmas, this collection is a treasure! I can't wait to check out some of the other stories by these wonderful authors.
Thoroughly enjoyed each novella...these authors all have a unique gift of storytelling that draws the reader in. I can wait to read the next collection!
This was a fun set to read during the holidays! I totally enjoyed all the books in this series! I got to read many authors who were new to me and now I'm their fan! GREAT SET!
A nice mix of Christmas stories. Enjoyed each one, they were each different from each other and didn't feel like you had already read a similar storyline. I would re-read these.
This was a story like no other because was based in a place not everyone has been. The characters are so very unique and interesting tHe storyline deals with finding that special someone and about forgiveness for hurts one can not let go it was a joyful journey for all.
Each book in this collection stands alone as an enjoyable short read. Romantic and with Christian values throughout (read: no overt or gratuitous kissing and of course, no pre-marital sex), so a sweet, easy read.
Love is especially good at Christmas. Diamonds sparkle, snowflakes glisten and love is in the air. The real meaning of Christmas is a story of an all encompassing love-an agape love.
Come to Me Joyful by Leah Atwood *** I Liked It This is a feel good sweet Romance novella with a happily-ever-after ending. Friends and co-workers, Luke and Kate, finally take a chance on love.
Mistletoe and Mochas by Lynnette Bonner *** I Liked It This novella has a fairytale feel to it and makes for light escapism entertainment.
Christmas Star Sapphire by Hallee Bridgeman *** I Liked It Something just a little different. How does one handle a gift from God that one never asked for, never thought one wanted?
A Home for Christmas by Kimberly Rae Jordan *** I Liked It I read this some time ago and liked it then, too. Ms Jordan is a terrific author; I have enjoyed every one of her books that I've ever read and the whole series about the Collingsworth family is especially good.
Christmas Bells are Ringing by Lesley Ann McDaniel *** I Liked It This delightful Christmas themed story makes you want to cheer for the lead characters, Shelby and Chris. They meet, make a shy and somewhat awkward connection, but then seem doomed to ever meet again to establish a basis for developing any kind of relationship, though they'd both like to do just that.
Gifts of Love by Carol Moncado *** I Liked It I felt like cheering on Vince and Samantha. Years ago they'd got their relationship so wrong; but God has been working in their individual lives. Now they have a chance at forgiveness, redemption and restoration.
Broken Holiday by Ginger Solomon *** I Liked It Lovely afternoon escape into a sweet happily-ever-after. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between Jade and Clay.
Poles Apart by Marion Ueckermann *** I Liked It An interesting twist for a Christmas story.
So far I've only read Gifts of Love, written by Carol Moncado, is a beautiful Christmas story of love, giving, and forgiveness. The feelings of Christmas flow through each page, putting you in the mood for Christmas to be right around the corner! Moncado has done an awesome job of creating the town of Serenity Landing and bringing the characters to life throughout so many of her books. I think my favorite character in this book has to be Vince. He was in essence one of the pretty boys who was a player growing up. He went on a first date with Samantha in high school and ever since has been in love with her. But he had a lot of growing up to do and so did Sam. Could they ever both get to the point where they both were ready for the right kind of relationship with each other? Can they both find forgiveness in their hearts? A quick easy read with lots of Christmas feelings!. I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was an enjoyable set of good, clean love stories. Most of them had a good Godly life lesson. I was a little annoyed with the last story as it almost made it seem as if Santa was real. I never taught my children to believe in Santa, because I believe it is a very deceitful practice, especially for Christians, and takes so much glory away from Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas. Rearrange the letters of Santa and you get Satan!
I loved this collection of Christmas romance novellas. We find characters in different circumstances and different locales We see God's love, redemption, and forgiveness. This is a nice collection to read while you snuggle before a fire, have a hot beverage at hand, while Christmas music plays in the background.
Not much romance, a lot of preaching though. I like good clean stories of where men and women respect and love each other. I think this was written to bring people to Christ, only problem is the preaching makes him seem unreachable. I believe in leading people to Christ though good examples not by talking them into it.
I loved how different each story was! I was a little confused in the last story when her name changed for a minute, and could have used a pronunciation guide for the different words. I would have loved them even more if there wasn't so much drinking, but in general there were a great assortment of holiday novellas.
As long as you just want some light holiday centered reading, you will enjoy this collection. They are all novellas, so don't expect reasonable time lines or character development. Holiday fluff to make you smile.
Wish there were 10 stars, this collection is that good! Each story is excellent and touched my heart. Truly recommend buying and reading. A keeper collection, for sure!
Very nice collection of Christmas novellas. I especially enjoy Carol Moncado's work. Ever since the first book I read of hers, I was hooked on her work!
Some books were better than others in this collection. The last story was my favourite although I did feel I could identify with some of the characters in the other stories.
