Zombie apocalypse stories are a bit cliche these days but "Edible Complex" endeavors to be different - and succeeds. From its opening line of "So, the zombie apocalypse happened" all the way through the ending it tackles thing from a non-traditional standpoint. The zombies of the story aren't Romero's zombies, nor are they runners, or any other sort most of us are accustomed to...but they sure do like to eat.

It isn't everyday you see a zombie tale where the zombies are eating cabbage. In fact, I believe there's only one day I saw that. And it was when reading this book. The main character is also very interested in what shoes people are wearing. And her feelings. Well, let's just say Brett does a fantastic job with characterization on this one.
