As I look back on the books I read this past month, I note that the majority of them have been about holiday baking and preparations. In fact, I think I GORGED on them. December always tends to shift my reading preferences to fluffier material to coincide with the holidays.

Having said that, "Christmas with Southern Lady, Volume 2: Holiday Decorating, Recipes, and Table Ideas from Southern Lady Magazine," is a dreamy, (hardcover) book containing an exquisite, visual plethora of holiday photos that live up to the holiday theme. It is grandeur artwork at its best. The photos are elegantly laid out depicting timeless, holiday décor, settings, meals, baked goods and gifts. My favorite recipes are the "Salted Caramel Pecans," "Chocolate Chip Espresso Cookies," and "Spinach & Parmesan Mushrooms."

The book is beautifully formatted, boasting elegant fonts that match the photos. I devour anything created by Hoffman Media. Their books line many of my bookshelves as I am an avid collector. They are timeless and grant me a bit of visual heaven which I appreciate.

Happy Holidays!

Pictorially, the book is a delight to the eyes, as relates to many ideas on decorating and preparing for the holidays. However, it has insufficient directions on how-to's and sources of such unique decorations.
