Chelsea spent most of her life running. She was young when her parents were killed, and she was thrown into the system as just another statistic. One foster home after another, hell after hell. When things got too hard, her first instinct was to get out and fast. She didn’t mind being a club girl. Who wouldn't want a group of possessive alpha males on your side and in your bed? The freedom and the lifestyle allowed her to spread her wings while the rules and bylaws kept everyone in line. It was comfortable – safe. But while her head told her she was happy, her heart reminded her constantly of what she really wanted – Brothers by Blood President, Optimus. He was a brooding asshole who was sexy, loyal and pushed the boundaries of both her body and her mind. He never let her all the way in, but she still couldn't stay away from him – he was addictive. Optimus had only one rule – family comes first. He knew that sometimes sacrifices needed to be made in order to keep the ones he loved safe. He'd done it before and he would do it again. Being President of the Brothers by Blood MC meant he couldn't show any weakness. His feelings for Chelsea were off the charts, but so far he'd managed to hide them and keep her at an arm’s length thinking he was protecting her. Beautiful, athletic and sassy, she wasn't just another club girl, she was HIS girl. Danger is fast approaching and Chelsea is in its direct sight. Will it be too late for Optimus to show Chelsea how he really feels? And when secrets are revealed will Chelsea stay and stand beside the man she wants or will the urge to run just be too strong?

Chelsea has been a club girl for three years, and Optimus's go to, as well as being in love with him. He plays the push away game for too long. Resulting in her making a big choice. You see, he feels like he doesn't deserve to have what he wants- because when he does, the ones he wants aren't safe. Or so he thinks.

Now he has the DEA & Mafia breathing down his throat- and he has a big secret that Chelsea is about to learn. Can he juggle it all, and find his happy ending?

I loved that Chelsea was able to stick to her guns, and follow through with a big decision. I loved meeting Harlyn. I even liked Deacon. Though- I wasn't a fan of the bedroom antics, and I felt like the whole thing in regards to Target's family was a weak plot line. Anthony didn't do much in trying to find out what happened to Target- then finding out what he assumed is probably right, it doesn't go any further.

Reading order
1. Harmony
2. Chelsea
3. Blizzard (brotherhood journals 1)
4. Hadley
5. Family
6. Wrench (brotherhood journals 2) --> when it's out

Chelsea is the club girl that isn't. Technically she's supposed to be for everybody, but the Brothers by Blood MC President, Optimus called dibs. It leaves their relationship in limbo, and her real place in their world in question. Fallout from the Club's actions in the previous book forces Optimus' to reveal secrets, and make decisions in his personal life. Which rains hell on the little club girl that couldn't.

The Good:
1. Chelsea was the best friend of the heroine of the first book in this series Harmony (The Club Girl Diaries, #1) by Addison Jane . This couple's relationship was hinted at, but we get a clearer picture here. She is beautiful, but awkward in a way that doesn't annoy me. We aren't force fed an inner-monologue of her faults which is much appreciated by this reader.

description

2. Optimus is my favorite road name of any biker romance hero so far. I got a kick every time it was mentioned because of the Transformers connection.

The Bad:
1. The angst for angst's sake was off the charts in this installment. The IQ levels of the characters were sacrificed to move along a stale mafia plot.

2. Despite the attempts to keep you guessing, I was not surprised by most of the twists.

Final Thoughts:
I was into the first book, but this one left me very frustrated. I do like the club girl aspect of the series, but need more than that to keep me invested.

I knew I shouldn't have read this one. Finally got the answer I was looking for about OW at 36%

"Sure, I’d been with other club girls on the odd occasion. Sometimes on the road the need for a warm body at night had become too much. But what I had come to hate, was the guilt that sat in my gut after every encounter. Chelsea had buried herself under my skin—her touch, her voice, and her smile were all at the forefront of my mind. So eventually I just stopped. I no longer shared mine or any other bed with another woman. Yeah, it sounded fucking stupid. In my head, this woman was mine. I didn’t want another. But I wouldn’t claim her as my own. I was a fucking idiot."

Granted they both slept with other people so it wasn't like he was doing it and not allowing her to as well. It just grossed me out anyway so I didn't enjoy the story after that.

3.5 to 4 stars.

Once again the blurb is good and there's already lots of reviews so I'll skip my usual summary and just give my opinion.
After reading 'Harmony' I was intrigued by Chelsea and Optimus and couldn't wait to start their book and again it's a good entertaining read. There's a lot more going on here than in 'Harmony' but of course all the main players have already been introduced so it can start straight away with the story.
I liked both Chelsea and Optimus, although there were times when Optimus's ability to ignore what's right in front of him annoyed me no end but he's a man haunted by past mistakes. All the secondary characters are good but then we already knew this from the previous book.
There's a few head shaking moments and again this is not really a book to be taken seriously it's hot biker escapism and as such it's a good entertaining read, there's more story and less sex than in 'Harmony' and I'll be continuing on with 'Blizzard (The Brotherhood Journals Book 1)'

Overall Opinion: This was an enjoyable mc romance. I enjoyed the first book of the series, Harmony, and I was hoping to get a little more of Chelsea's story. I like the idea of this series and that it follows girls that are club girls and not outsiders that get thrown into the mc lifestyle. It's definitely a different perspective that I appreciate. I typically don't like giving 1/4 of a point, but I couldn't quite give this a 4 star rating because the end was too abrupt with not enough closure for me...otherwise it would've been a 4 star all the way.

Storyline: This is Chelsea and Optimus' story. We met them in the first book, but i don't think it's necessary to read it to follow along (though I would recommend it). Chelsea is a "club girl" or "club whore" where she is there as a person for the men of the mc to hookup with in exchange for housing and her school being paid off. She has been with them for ~ 3 years and Optimus (the president) has been pretty exclusive with her even though he has never claimed her (and it's obvious to everyone that he has strong feelings for her). The club is having some major outside issues (some old from the first book and some new) and Optimus ends up pushing Chelsea away to try to "protect" her. After those issues get solved, they find their HFN.

POV: This alternated between Chelsea and Optimus' POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good for the most part, not slow but has an abrupt ending. I wouldn't call this instalove, but for a reader that didn't read the first book it might feel undeveloped because the book starts after they've developed strong feelings for each other.

H rating: 3 stars. Optimus. Hot, alpha biker that holds a lot of guilt and acts stupidly to try to protect people he cares about at times.

h rating: 4 stars. Chelsea. I loved her outlook on life, and that even though she's been given a bad hand several times in life -- she is determined to make the best out of things.

Sadness level: Moderate. I did have some tears in this one through Optimus' stupidity.

Heat level: Moderate/low. The scenes are hot, but there really aren't that many of them (especially for a mc romance that typically run high).

Descriptive sex: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: HFN at the most. I needed way more closure. I would've love to have a jump into the future.

Worth the $?: Yes, on kindle unlimited!

Chelsea (The Club Girl Diaries #2)

This is book two of The Club Girl Diaries, I'm really enjoyed reading this book, so far this is another series I want to continue to read. I really enjoyed reading a different prospective in this MC Series.

Addison Jane writing is quite good, and she has me hooked on this series. I definitely will be reading anything she writes.

Another good one in the series and it ends like the first one did...focusing on the next couple in the series. This is kind of a brilliant move from Addison Jane. Even though this book is over and you really don´t have read more to get a conclusion to the story, you kind of want to keep on going because you want to know what happens next for the characters that are featured in the ending of the book.

For the most part, I enjoyed this book. I'd been looking forward to this since finishing Harmony so seeing that it was live earlier than expected was awesome!

Chelsea is the club whore who has been pretty much Optimus' girl without him actually claiming her. When I read the teaser for Chelsea at the end of the first book, I was excited. I was really looking forward to reading about the chick who captured the heart of the big bad biker. But of course, it couldn't be a straight forward story, could it? Nope!

The mafia drama from the first book spills over into this one and you find out Chelsea's connection to it all. And although it kept me entertained, it also made Optimus make stupid decisions.

I never really thought I had specific triggers when it came to reading romance books. But reading this book, I have definitely discovered one. If there is one thing I hate, it's when a man doesn't fight for his woman. I expected more from Optimus. I expected that he would lay it all out and fight to get Chelsea back.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!

I can see there have been some mixed reviews over this book but for me it was even better than Harmony. I loved the depth to the story, the characters' chemistry, the addition of the Mafia connection (always a plus for me) and of course, the heart-wrenching side story between Blizzard and Rose (and yay, their story is coming next!) - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Chelsea is no ordinary Club Girl, she has ambition, drive and a determination to succeed outside of the Club House but with the gravitational pull she has to Optimus, breaking free is never and option, that is, until it becomes a necessity.

Aside from the delicious biker boys, we also get to meet Deacon. A gym owner like no other, and a person that Chelsea can turn to and trust, or so she thinks.

Life was never going to be straightforward for poor Chelsea as she fights to secure the life that she thought she had lost at the age of 5. Needing security, love and protection though only accounts for 90% of her ambition though and the other 10% belongs to Optimus, the most stubborn man that she will ever meet. Between Chelsea's desire to run and Optimus' desire to protect by pushing people away, their story is one to grasp tenatively as they push and pull away from each other throughout the book.

This is a really well written series so far. The author has a thought provoking writing style which, together with the storyline, is one to savour.

Beware of Spoilers!

Star Ratings:
Heroine (Chelsea): 3/5
Hero (Optimus): 3/5 - I’m sorry but I can’t take this name seriously!

Plot: 3.5/5
Grovel: none
Cheating: difficult to say…I am so glad the author did not give any explicit details of sex with other people
HEA: yes but no epilogue with h and H
Triggers: torture, h is a club-whore but does not sleep with others during story

Average score: 3.5/5

Best Lines: “Men don’t call the woman they are in love with, whores. Just saying.”

Worst Lines: Introduction of the h:
“I prefer to think more that I’m a single woman, and while I could be going out every night and fucking random men I pick up from a bar or club, I have clubhouse full of men who are willing to care about, protect me, and pay for my tuition to college, and what do I have to do? Have sex and clean up a little.”

Personal Review:
This was a difficult story for me to rate as the introduction did not leave me with a good feeling. The heroine is a club-whore and has been one for 4 years. Hero is the president of the club. The stubborn hero finally admits he has feelings for the heroine but a lot of drama gets in the way.

This was a good and engaging story which is why I gave it 3 stars...the additional half a star was because it did spark emotions in me (in a good way!) which I was not expecting.

Random Ramblings:
•Harlyn was super smart…almost unbelievably so!

Overall Feeling:

3.0 RATING- I didn't like Chelsea as much as book one. The writing was okay but the story just never pulled me in. I set it down a couple times before actually finishing it. I'll probably check out the next book in the series when it releases but it won't be at the top of my TBR list.

Holy shit!!! This book is fuckingfantastic!!

If u haven't read Harmony yet that's ok we forgive u! This book continues from where Harmony left off.

Chelsea is an Amazing character I can relate to. Well the fucked up past part anyway!

Optimus, what can I say! He definatly got kicked in the balls by Chelsea! It's about time he stops being stubborn!

I absolutely can't wait for the next book! My heart was racing up till the end. I was in tears feeling my heart break will all the struggles those two went through! Another Amazing Read!

I really like this one too. Not as much as Harmony. I just liked Harmony's personality more but this was a good story too. A little too much back and forth waiting for Optimus to make up his damn mind. I understood his hesitation but after a while it was enough. Looking forward to reading Blizzard's story

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A second nice book with its qualities and its faults ...
I must admit I was curious to read this book especially with all the past between Chelsea and Optimus buuuuut ... I found that Chelsea deserved better : concretely, Optimus did nothing but lie to her , the way he treats her (when he stops paying her lessons without telling her, when he leaves her with this status of "club girl" supposedly to protect her ...) and above all he does not really take an interest in her until very late (like the story of her parents for example ...)
I'm probably not going to read the next books because Rose is an idiot and I've had my fill of Optimus and the dramas around him ... But I would try the Leo and Eagle ones because they look good =D
In short, a light and sexy biker romance perfect for the holidays but no more =)
Addison Jane can make a more taboo subject into a great, read worthy romance. This one is the second book in The Club Girl Diaries. I didn't like this one as much as the first, but the romance between Op and Chelsea was great.
I really liked the story between them. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was that the author seemed to get too caught up with the side plot. The side plot, though entertaining, took up too much space. I almost forgot I was reading a romance between the H and h at one point.
It was like the author noted that as well because there was drama between the two main characters, side plot goes on for a while, then suddenly there was an "oh yeah, this is a romance book" moment and
description
the two main characters are back together.
I needed more grovel. I never liked books that had one character constantly groveling, but there was none in this. The h came off as a complete door mat by the end.
Kind of put me off...
description
Up until that point it was fine.
I'm really not sure about Blizzard's book. It's in a separate series so I might skip it for now.
description
However, Addison Jane does a great job at writing books that I'm on the fence about because of the characters position.
Well...I will say that Chelsea learning that Optimus had a daughter sure spun things out of control quickly. I get it, they were close and for him to not talk about her was a huge thing and Chelsea should rightly be mad. That seemed to be the theme for most of the book. Chelsea wanted Optimus to admit to more than he would, she would get mad and leave. Normally this would drive me nuts, but I thought Chelsea was right in her anger and to leave, especially when she finally called out Optimus and basically told him he needs to shit or get off the pot. He let her go, he got what he reaped.
And in a normal world this would have been fine, however things were normal and there was a threat. It was interesting when the bad guy was revealed, why he did what he did and how it all came back to connections.
I'm glad that things got figured out and the real bad guy was dealt with. I think this leaves the main threat gone, but then the little scene at the end happened and it looks like maybe not so much. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
This was my second time reading Chelsea. It picked up where Harmony had left off only like a week later.
Optimus is fighting his own demons and trying to protect his club and ends up pushing Chelsea away in the process. But he keeps telling himself it is for her own good.
I didn’t know if I would ever be ready to let her go. But as far as I was concerned, being with me would only bring her danger and thinking about losing her too was enough to break me. -Optimus
She ends up leaving the club and moves in with her friend Rose. Everyone is not what they seem, and nothing makes sense.
This was a great book, I am glad I decided to read them again. Makes me love this series anymore. It's the first book we get a good glimpse of Ham in, and since his book is next, makes me even more excited.
Off to read Blizzard now!
Honestly, I'm a little obsessed with this series RN.
They show you a different side to MC club life..even if Chelsea is the least "club girl" of the two we've currently met.
The push and pull between her and Optimus which we saw in Harmony, continued well into this one and there was a lot more action in this one.
I really want to read Blizzard's story and read it soon.
So I tried this the second book in the series after what was an okay first book, thinking things would improve. Optimus and Chelsea's story held great promise with the way things ended in book one and Op having a whole secret family. Alas, this book was a disappointment to me.
Second book in the series, but can be read alone. Chelsea finds out about Optimus' secret family when he brings them back into the club for protection. She also discovers that Op is still not ready to admit to feelings for her. Danger is around the corner with the mafia gunning for the club after book one's events.
I liked Chelsea and Op in general, I was hoping for more angst with the secret family and that went a different way. I could believe Op's reasons for keeping Chelsea at arms length. However, the book was at nearly 70% before there was anything besides push and pull between the two principles and that got old. I liked the interjection of Deacon's character, but found the connection to Chelsea very suspect and truly unbelievable that she'd start in Idaho, run through foster care, pick a town at random in Alabama and end up with a club intertwined with the mafia that ended up being a huge part of her history?!
The writing was also very lazy. I thought Chelsea had dark hair? But in this book it's "blonde". Also, too much cut and paste from book one. Several misused words, and once even names. Chelsea is inner musing and calls Rose Chelsea. So if the author isn't invested in her own work enough to keep track of character names, I don't know that I will be investing in it either.
