First time I believe I have seen Magneto with his helmet off. You can see the shades of grey they are introducing to his character. No longer is he just I will rule the world!! He is now talking and explaining his reasoning.

Professor X mind wiping Spider-Man was unexpected and not in the good way.

Doom created Titania and Volcana and then used them to free the captured villians.

Galactus still on the back burner. Hope they use him again.

Art again compared to 70's Hulk and X-Men is muted in color and it seems the details are severely lacking. You get the idea but man a lot more finesse is apparent in the comics of the late 60's and early 70's.

Magneto plays the more prominent role in this issue as he continues to play a role of neutrality, avoiding an outright alliance with Xavier and the Avengers, but also showing reticence in working with Doom. Meanwhile Reed frets about Sue who is out in the midst of Battleworld fighting, and is doing so while being quite pregnant. Notably, this issue is the first appearance of Titania (and the more minor recurring villain, Volcana) who adds to the villains cause in fighting against the heroes.

A lot is packed in here, but the series is already repetitive by the third issue.

So… Magneto and Wasp having it off? Didn’t see that coming!

A lot of down time with heroes expressing their fears, giving us character depth, and we have the X-Men seemingly turning on the heroes to join Magneto. My only gripe here is that to make it work, two X-Men had to suddenly be incapable of the special thing they do - Rogue can’t break the webbing, even though she has the powers of Marvel, and Nightcrawler can’t teleport out of the webbing? Really?

Creation of two villains too, particularly Titania. We also see the seeds for the Molecule Man and Volcana’s relationship.

This one is worth it just for the battle between the X-Men and Spider-man - interestingly, this seems to be an outlier for future interaction between Spider-man and the X-Men. The creation of Volcana and Titania is also interesting, especially as they are both female.
