One dare will bring him to his knees . . .

3 – ”It was just a bet.” Stars!

This is one of those times where as a reader I really, really wish that I had loved the book I had just finished a whole lot more than I did. Sara Jane Stone is one of my top author finds this year, she manages to give her readers strong, yet vulnerable female characters that you can empathize with and that you ultimately want to get to know and see achieve their happily ever after. Her guys are always easy to fall for, and the story-lines that the relationships

In Sara Jane Stone's second installment To Dare A SEAL, readers are once again bewitched in another tantalizing, sexy, steamy and emotional romance. When U.S. Navy SEAL Jack Barnes was dared if he could get Natalie Lewis to sleep with him, he never expected that this fiery bartender might be the one to steal his heart. Natalie was well aware of the bet that was brewing between Jack and his Navy SEAL brothers and she knew had to try hard

Natalie Lewis was a bartender with a backbone, who didn’t suffer drunken fools. She enjoyed banter with the locals, and was always glad to welcome a Navy SEAL, especially those in her best friend, Cade’s, unit.

Natalie’s constant condemnation of herself had shaped her reasons for relationship avoidance, and it irritated her that she was attracted to Jack Barnes. His Mr Sex Cures Headaches persona was on full throttle when he frequented the bar, which just further irked her.

One-Sentence Summary: SEALs go to Vegas

Review: The opening of the book really didn't do itself any favours. I don't like how Natalie's angst about her past just spilled out right at the beginning rather than being revealed gradually (and her past seemed to clearly take over her sister's wedding as Natalie kept wanting to bring it up)and also how Jack's brothers treated him was completely

I struggle writing this review. I have loved all the prior books I've read from this author but I just didn't feel this one lived up to my expectations. To be fair though, there are a number of good points about the book too so to summarize from my perspective, the good - good writing, lots of steamy hot sexy times, strong female lead, yummy male lead, and a perfect HEA ending. The bad - I'm not a fan of the on a dare trope so maybe this colored my judgement, the fact that the female lead knows ...more

Jack has been coming into Natalie's bar for 6 years, but thinks she has been ignoring him all this time. He is a SEAL and is gone most of the year on deployment but he never stops wondering about Natalie. Natalie has a past that holds onto her tight, and she has so much guilt she is afraid to let go, so she doesn't do relationships and the Prince Charming SEAL is not going to break through her walls, cause she knows it could be dangerous. This book was the second book in a series, and a great

The second book in the Sin City SEALS series picks up more or less where To Tempt a SEAL left off. I loved the first, we were given a glimpse of the characters featuring here and Sara Jane Stone's writing voice worked well for me, giving me huge hope for the series.

"I always play to win."
"I dare you to try."

For me, Natalie and Jack didn't light the pages up in the way Cade and Lucia did. Their story had already laid the groundwork giving us an insight into Natalie's upbringing and Jack came

Wow just wow. the sensual flirtiness that will have you fanning yourself is great. The banter between jack and Natalie is awesome. they draw you in with the bet on if Jack can seduce Jack but keep you in with the love and respect jack has for Natalie as he sees that she is who he wants and tries to get Natalie to understand this as well.

Natalie is stubborn feisty and wants control. She feels everyone will leave her so it is better to not let anyone in but

For Jack Barnes or Natalie to step away from a challenge as daring as this. Someone was bound to lose. I was sucked into their hot and heavy beginning and held on for the entire wild ride until the very end. When the bet gets hot the sheets get even hotter.
Not even a fire hose can put these flames out!

I love to read about Navy Seals although this story focuses more on several Seals and two sisters vs. their training and deployments. It was mentioned that the Seals are deployed often and for long time periods, which definitely causes problems with relationships. Ms. Stone is a new-to-me author and I fell in love with her writing, her characters, and the definite sexual tension between Natalie and Jack. Natalie is a bartender and Jack first met her several years before and was definitely ...more

Sweet and Saucy and Daring as the City of Sin. "To Dare a SEAL" is in a strange category for me because there is so much more caring behind the facade of the "act" that's being played out for the observers. The heroine, Natalie, is a "tough as nails" bartender at a local bar that caters to the sailors and soldiers in the area. She has a reputation of not flirting with anyone, taking no crap from anyone and being able to hold her own against any guy that walks through the doors. She basically has ...more

Natalie Lewis has built a impenetrable wall around her heart, to keep anyone from getting too close, or having the opportunity to bring her pain. Being abandoned time after time by foster families has lead her to have the belief that she is undeserving of love, and left her scared to entrust any part of herself to another person, for fear of them leaving her behind hurt and alone. So she shields herself from advances made by the soldiers who frequent her bar, and puts off a unapproachable air ...more

The second book in the Sin City SEALs series is a sexy, romantic tale about a woman afraid to take chances and a man who promises to catch her if she'll just let herself fall for him. Natalie is the sister of Lucia and best friend to Cade, the heroine and hero of book 1 of the series. She's a tough girl, a no nonsense bartender. She and her sister were in the foster parent system after the untimely death of their parents and she's learned to fight for herself, not giving an inch when it comes to ...more

I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Together Jack and Natalie create a dynamic team. Natalie is a former foster child who holds the guilt of her sister’s injury in her mind at all times. Natalie is guarded, stubborn, and has a quick wit and sharp tongue to defend herself. Jack is a frequent SEAL visitor of Natalie’s bar and spends most of his time fantasizing about what being with Natalie would be like. One day he

Sara Jane Stone is back with the second installment of her Sin City SEALs series and this time the whole team is heading to Vegas for Lucia and Cade's wedding. Though Natalie has always been attracted to smooth-talking Jack, she's kept her walls and her panties firmly in place, refusing to risk having anyone else walk out on her. Between her parents' deaths and being shuffled around to various foster homes, her childhood was filled with so much loss that she's just not willing to put her heart ...more

To Dare a SEAL is book two in the Sin City SEALs series by Sara Jane Stone and it's just as good as book one-To Tempt a SEAL! The whole SEAL group meets up in Las Vegas for Cade and Lucia's wedding. Prior to starting the wedding week of festivities, Jack Barnes accepts a bet featuring the sexy-as-sin bartender, maid of honor, and sister of the bride, Natalie. Natalie stars in all his fantasies, but she's never shown any interest in him. Never mean but only cordial. Knowing she could be his ...more

I was anticipating Jack and Natalie's story after reading to To Tempt a SEAL, so when the book became available I jumped at the chance to read it.

I won't say that it was a disappointment, because Sara Jane Stone still delivered a steamy, emotional and romantic story, but my experience wasn't as enjoyable as with the previous book.

I attribute this to Natalie's character. Although I love and admire a strong heroine--one who stands up for herself and shows a backbone--I found Natalie's way to be

LOVE IT! To Dare A Seal is the sequel to To Tempt a Seal, which is the story of Natalie's sister Lucia and Natalie's best friend Cade. This story is every bit as hot and sexy as the first one. Jack Barnes is the baby of the family and was picked on by his older brothers as a child. Determined to be a "super hero" when he grew up, he became the closest thing he could find - a Navy SEAL. Natalie and Lucia lost their parents in a horrific car accident when Natalie was only 11 years old and then ...more

I myself do not get tired reading novels that center around a Seal or Seals. There are many in this one but also second in the series of one that I am now sucked into. Jack first laid eyes on Natalie quite some time ago when he first entered the bar she tends in plus one of his team mates is her best friend. That best friend happens to be marring her sister in Vegas and when the guys get together at the bar, the boys start being boys with lips smacking and before the night is over a bet is made ...more

To Dare a Seal is another great book by Sara Jane Stone.

Sara has another great series in the works with this series and it has many twists and turns. What I love in this series is that it is about regular people with issues and real life problems. This book it is about a girl with real problems that prevent her from being happy.. Natalie has a heavy past and many demons that haunt her and her ability to let anyone get close. She is a bartender that serves many soldiers and SEALS. So to say she

Jack and Natalie have been ignoring their attraction for a while. She doesn't trust, and he isn't relationship material. At least that is what they keep saying to themselves. Then Jack's obnoxious brothers show up with him at the bar. They continue to belittle him—big bad SEAL—and she makes a pseudo play for him to give him cred. That leads to a bet that he can get her in bed.

Great, she tries to help and they start a bet he can't get her in bed—during the destination Los Vegas—wedding of her

Jack can have any woman he wants but one. She won't give him an inch. Natalie is tough as nails, she has to. Dealing with her customers, whether they are seals or just ordinary joes. She doesn't need a relationship, no attachments. Her walls are built high around her heart.

The chemistry pulls these two characters to one another but there is always a blockade.

I love stories about SEALs and this one is another one that didn't disappoint me. Jack is the best man at his friend's wedding and he would like nothing better than to get closer to the maid of honor. Natalie is strong as steel and is a bartender who can handle the strongest SEAL. Her no nonsense way of living makes Jack like her even more, but Natalie keeps him at arm's length because of her past. Hot, hot, hot
To Dare a SEAL is almost too hot to handle (in the best way possible)! The chemistry between Natalie and Jack is off the charts--this book is sexy, steamy but with a hint of sweet.

Natalie is not the typical romance heroine--she is emotionally damaged, uninterested in romance, and incredibly stubborn. She is also caring, independent, and strong with an endearing side of vulnerability. She is a kickass lead, and every part Jack's equal.

Jack is the perfect counterpart. He is a

This book was hands down a 5 stars read. The sexiness in this book was 10 stars in itself for sure but I can only give a maximum of 5 stars. There’s Las Vegas, seduction, bets, revenge, and a sexy Navy SEAL, what more could a girl ask for when reading. I won’t rewrite a summary of the novel, so all you need is read the description already given and know I loved this book. Ok this book was just an ok read for me! Which is a total bummer because I loved the first book in the series. But I just couldn't get past Natalie and her whining about her past. I mean it held her up from literally living life and the way she treated Jack just sucked. I loved Jack he was so loving and extremely patient with Natalie honestly I don't know how he did it for as long as he did. I would have left her ass forever ago. Again just an ok read for me.
